Brilliant place to stay went as a large family group spent the weekend here to go to Alton towers and was very welcomed and very good price had an amazing weekend and will defo go back highly recommended.

Arrived just after Midnight on Sunday morning (Pre Booked) the lad behind the desk (Billy) couldnt be more helpfull, morning staff were great and very helpfull, credit to Holiday Inn ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

New refurbished rooms were stunning. You could smell new carpet everywhere. The room was impeccable. Bathroom was gorgeous. Best nights sleep in a UK hotel so far!
The reception staff were really lovely, and kindly helped us with complimentary tooth brush / paste set, after realising I had forgotten ours.
The breakfast area was spotless and breakfast equally as good, with a whole range to suit all.
Top marks!

Great location for Burton on Trent.

Excellent staff. Very clean and tidy rooms. Very welcoming foyer and relaxed atmosphere. Would definately make it my first choice if I was back in this area.

One nice member of staff at breakfast — the supervisor otherwise taken aback due to wear and tear at the hotel — not reflected by the high price for one night and breakfast. Didn’t like requests in rooms and lifts for a high rating review. ‘We hate 7’ it began. Ratings shouldn’t be touted for in this way. Hot breakfast was served with only side plates. The dining room and common areas and tools are poorly lit. I too didn’t know of the extra £3 to park. I was pressed to join the rewards scheme. I said no and asked for a later checkout having arrived late. I was told no — that’s only for rewards members.

We booked the Holiday Inn at Burton upon Trent as we were looking for a place just for an overnight sleepover before continuing our journey. But, the accommodation offered much more than a comfy bed. From the fast disappearing culture of providing toiletries to the clean basic amenities in the room, I can only speak highly of. Finally, the breakfast provided is scrumptious, delicious and very generous. This place is equally suitable for families and professionals.

We had a lovely stay. All the staff were friendly and polite our room was clean and the bed was very comfy.
The free tea, coffee and got chocolate was a lovely down in reception. Well definitely be back.

Clean, well run hotel that was fantastic value. The staff were really helpful and efficient. The room was clean and most importantly, well air conditioned which was a god send during the mini heatwave! The breakfast was good, a decent selection for breakfast buffet style dining. All in all a great place for a stop over.

Staff were great at the front desk and quite busy. Room was fine and had air con which was a bonus! Bathroom was a bit tired but functional no worries there. Breakfast was good!

Convenient hotel on the outskirts of town. Bar on the premises that does food or there is a pub next door. Rooms are ok but a little dated. Comfortable beds though. Breakfast is good for a free meal.

Location, easy to find. Close to a38. Room good, holiday inn standard really. Bathroom and towels were a bit tired, low water pressure and signs of repairs to the shower. Needed a refresh. Breakfast was ok but basic, no hash browns for example. Can't complain for the competitive price I paid. Staff very friendly and helpful (even at 2am when we stumbled back in! )

Very basic but friendly staff that go above and beyond at all times. Breakfast was not a good experience as food looked dry and overcooked very little choice. Simple changes would have given you a 5 star perhaps offer boiled or poached egg and have potted yoghurt available.

For a low cost hotel the manager and staff deserve high praise. Immaculate room friendly staff comfortable bed with good shower. Faultless congratulations.

Fantastic staff… very friendly and happy to help. Complementary breakfast was always nice and alot to choose from considering it's a freebie. Hotel was always clean and tidy. Plenty of parking available. Was lovely to be able to order takeaway food on the nights we were too tired to go out to eat, and be able to eat them in the hotel bar area (with use of the hotel plates and cutlery) and not have to eat them in the hotel room. Definitely recommend.

Lovely place to stay! We arrived late in the evening but had a warm & friendly welcome from the nice guy on reception. Room was perfect, breakfast was great & I especially liked the ‘grab and go’ service along with the fridge of snacks & drinks you could buy for your journey — fabulous idea!

Lovely place to stay, very friendly staff and nice relaxing feel to the foyer where everyone meets to sit and chat. Complimentary tea and coffee is a really nice idea. We stayed here whilst attending a memorial service at the Arboretum.

Nice place as you would expect from a Holiday inn… A bit far out of town to walk so you will have to drive… £3.00 to park the car I think is a bit of a cheek…

The room was clean, towels were nice and fluffy but the bed was horrendous. It was a small double and it was like sleeping on a blancmange. It was very soft and springy and we hardly slept at all. Every time my husband moved, so did I — you get the picture. We were trialing the hotel as a possible for guests to stay at a family wedding next year. Unfortunately I would NOT recommend it. The sink in the bathroom also smelt of drains, the soap dispenser (fixed to the wall in the shower) did not dispense and had to dismantle it to use it. No other complimentary toiletries. The breakfast was simple but nothing special — help yourself. Staff were very nice that were clearing the tables. We mentioned the bed on check out, but the receptionist didn't seem overly bothered, just said that they are in the process of upgrading the mattresses, but didn't say how long this would take. So up to press we will not be returning, or recommending to any family or friends for the wedding.

One of the best hotel we ever visited. Brilliant location — quiet and relaxing and amazing staff — real helpful, friendly and caring. Special mention to Ms Nicky cause she made us feel most welcome. Definetly will revisit!

Great place to stay. Comfortable and clean, very attentive and friendly staff. There is a small charge for parking but other than that, everything was as expected.

The bed was the most thing I loved it's so comfortable that I don't wake up in the morning. The breakfast had what the family wanted. The shower was more than ok. That's me Lara in the bed so comfortable.

Decent location with a pub and supermarket within walking distance. Room was a good size and quiet. No ironing board but available on request. Cooked breakfast buffet was adequate with toast, sausage, bacon, scrambled eggs and beans on offer as well as continental items, juice, coffee, tea etc. Staff are friendly and helpful. The bar has quickish service but limited offering on tap. Decent free Wi-Fi is available, as well as a laundry service (charges are extra).

The hotel room and staff were brilliant. However it was a very warm day and evening and we opened the bedroom window however we had to close it soon after due to the stink of cigarette smoke coming from below which myself nor my partner were happy about at all and we spent the night feeling hot and sticky which was preferable to feeling sick and having a headache! Due to disability changing rooms was not an option! I believe a review on where people can smoke outside the building is needed perhaps a smoking shelter further away from the building? Breakfast was lovely however small plates so 2 trips required would definitely come again and hopefully enjoy it more when it's more smoke free x.

Location was useful for quick access to the A38, and also for a few options within walking distance for an evening meal. The room was nice enough, comfortable and reasonably appointed. A little noisy due to the road outside, though. Staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast a self service affair, but a good, varied selection available.

Rooms are clean and are not too small. The service I think was OK. The "Express" breakfast falls through a slightly narrower offer on but is perfectly fine. To eat something in the evening, I prefer to recommend the restaurant.

My room was opposite a well known fast food restaurant, most of the night all I could hear was young lads racing about in their cars. The room was clean and bathroom very minimal. The kettle didn't work in the room but overall the room was ok for the price. Breakfast was quite poor, no large plates so had to squeeze toast and egg on to a side plate. The orange juice was very watered down. The waitress was polite as was the receptionist on arrival. In check out rather than being asked if I had a good stay the last took payment and then in passing asked if everything had been ok. I mentioned the issues but she didn't seem bothered. Another customer mentioned the noise and our response was we should have come down and they would have called the police. Try to be a little bit proactive it's your job to look after the guest and hotel I can't imagine that night was a one off. I don't think I will return.

We had a very pleasant stay at the Holiday Inn Express Burton Upon Trent in Burton. It was a 10 to 15 minutes’ walk to the East Midlands airport from hotel. Staffs were cool. Food was great. Definitely recommend and will stay again.

I stayed at Holiday Inn Express Burton Upon Trent last night. The location as it is connected to the National Brewery Centre! The reception staffs were welcoming and helpful. Rooms were clean, security was good, food amazing and again service lovely.

We stayed at The Holiday Inn Express Burton Upon Trent for 1 night. There are some great things about this hotel. The hotel has a perfect location 10 minutes away from Alton Towers and 15 minutes ago from Donnington. The hotel was clean and tidy, friendly staffs, rooms are good.

Breakfast not good enough. All for healthy living but no full english in a hotel is not what expected by most people.

I and my Girlfriend had a great time at Holiday Inn Express Burton upon Trent very nice new hotel, Rooms and clearing was ok. Good value hotel about 5 minute walk from Derby. All staff in all a very good experience.

I and my wife stayed at Holiday Inn Express Burton upon Trent for 2 days. The staff are very helpful in the hotel and all speak good English the hotel is very stylish /modern and the facilities are very good. The price was very reasonable and we would stay here again.

I have just started staying here due to business nearby. I think it is great for the price (£49). Rooms well maintained, clean and comfortable. Staff on reception and at breakfast friendly and helpful. If I was to really nit pick — I was unable to buy a bottle of water so I bought a glass of wine instead — good quality wine too.

What a brilliant hotel it was tpotally exellent the service was very good the breakfast was good and the room was lovley overall a 5 star hotel ace.
