Just been to see Half a Sixpence — a really good uplifting show. Such a shame it wasn’t advertised more because then all the seats would the have been filled. It was my first visit to this lovely open air theatre as did not know of its existence until recently and I only live 30 minutes away in Northamptonshire. Please advertise more widely so more people can have the pleasure of this theatre and its productions.

Thoroughly enjoyed today’s matinee performance of Carousel. It was so wonderfully staged with a large cast of such talented singers and dancers. We particularly enjoyed the dancing which was of such a high standard. We are so lucky to live near to such a high-quality venue.

Absolutely fantastic production of Carousel today… who needs the West End when you can see a fabulous show in the most beautiful of settings! Wonderful lunch beforehand too. We've already booked for Half a Sixpence in July. Can't wait 😊

The shows I've watched there are as good if not better than some of the same shows in the West End.

I went to see Cats this summer and thoroughly enjoyed the music and dancing. Lovely grounds for a picnic.

Everything is so well organised and it runs like clockwork. The staff were lovely, the facilities are excellent and the people organising the car parking and exit from the car park have it all so well organised. Add to this the fact that The Rod Stewart Story was a fantastic show, how could you not want to book again and again 👍 brilliant well done everyone at Kilworth 👍

Enjoyable show. Thought the children would have been more in keeping with bright coloured t shirts. Good first time theatre experience for our 4 year old Grandson.

Joseph and the technicolor dream coat performance was a very modern production. Great production. Jacob stood out for me. A versatile actor that proves the experienced in life can be just as energetic as the younger members of the cast and come out rocking! Well done cast and all.

Lovely hotel, v comfortable room, well equipped. Wonderful open air theatre experience. Food and service excellent though as would expect, limited choice as included in complete package. Highly recommended.

I have been to the theatre twice for different productions and I have never been disappointed. They offer blankets for when it is cooler on the evenings and the productions are always first rate! I have seen Little Shop of Horrors and more recently was Joseph. They are always very popular and more than likely sells out most nights. Kilworth House have definitely got it 'right'. I guarantee that whatever you see you will not be disappointed!

Another excellent Sunday lunch. The food was delicious, service was highly professional and friendly, the surroundings are beautiful in the orangery. We always enjoy our visits here and will definitely be back again.

This was our first time at Kilworth House Theatre, it was a delightful. The evening began with a three course meal in the orangy. The food was was really quite good. Despite the warm weather, the air-conditioning kept the venue cool; but it is discreet and quiet and so allowed us to have a quiet meal. The staff were friendly. The views were nice. After the meal we had time to walk around the garden, before being taken by golf buggy to the theatre. The theatre is an open air theatre, covered by a large canvas expanse. While we were on the front row and just two feet from the stage, any seat has a great view in this, quite interment setting. I would highly recommend an evening at Kilworth, either take a picnic or book an evening meal.

Stayed for a wedding. Hotel staff were very accommodating. Room was clean but bathroom door showed lots of signs of damage at floor level. Metal kick boards would be a good idea.

This is a fabulous venue. So atmospheric. This is our fourth year and it never disappoints. This years cast are so well matched. Dancing superb and singing fantastic. A really professional show set in lovely surroundings. Can’t fault it. Can’t wait till our next visit. We’re so lucky to have such a place with any west end actors giving such high quality performances on our doorstep. Loved Nicely nicely and Arvide Abernathy brought me to tears singing so sincerely to Sarah Brown. Also not forgetting the brilliant orchestra and the theatre volunteers who can’t do enough to make your visit so memorable. Thank you Kilworth House Theatre you’ve come up trumps again.

Went to see Guys and Dolls Musical at their outside theatre having enjoyed an excellent three course meal prior to the show. Highly recommended it was possible to hire a blanket for £1 which went to charity. Had a marvellous night with my daughter and grandaughter.

Beautiful hotel with lots of original country manor features. Very comfortable food very good. Really enjoyed watching guys and dolls as well.

Wonderful gardens lovely hospitality, grand outlay. Had a wonderful time at wedding thank you to all the Holland groves and Smith's.

Simply stunning! The grounds and inside the venue is breathtaking. A very old character building, you may need to leave breadcrumbs when visiting the amenities and returning to the lounge, twisty quaint corridors. Service was excellent.

A wonderful country hotel set in a beautiful old hall. In the gardens is an open air theatre showing great shows from the West End. The Orangery hosts dinner events such as jazz dinners or The Rat Pack, and is a splendid restored Victorian cast iron structure, a gem in its own right. Highly recommended for a special occasion or just a treat.

Beautiful building and setting. Delicious food and great staff. A fantastic relaxing yet stylish experience.

My wife took me her as a late birthday present. What a beautiful place. The room was amazing. And the staff were lovely. We had a three course meal in the restaurant witch was gorgeous. I highly recommend this wonderful hotel.

A fantastic afternoon tea. We went for our wedding anniversary and they put happy anniversary in choc on the plate. Lovely touch … food was gorgeous and plenty of it we brought some home wth us. Well worth a visit.

Stunning location, amazing customer service from all members of staff. I went for afternoon tea and the food was top. All in all a brilliant location for an afternoon treat.

Beautiful room to have a special lunch in, the staff were extremely attentive and the service was quick. But… there were a few things that made out experience a 3 star affair instead of a 5 star one. The main ingredient was missing from my starter so it had to be sent back and replaced (which then meant my partner's starter went cold because we wanted to eat together) my fish was overcooked and the whole dish looked like it had been sitting under hot lights for too long. The meringue in my pavlova was so chewy it was almost impossible to eat with a spoon. I could have done with a steak knife to cut through it.

Stately home now turned into country house hotel The Orangery, the onsite restaurant, look fantastic. Rooms are in keeping with the era and a real sense of luxury. On site theatre and shows (if you can get a ticket) are another added treat.

Went for afternoon tea. The venue was beautiful. Staff very helpful and smartly dressed. The food was very nice we had one sweet and one savoury. The tea selection was pathetic. There was nothing you couldn't buy in the supermarket.

Love this place, everything is spot on and nothing is too much trouble for the staff to accommodate. Excellent accommodation and first class restaurant coupled together with their own outdoor live theatre. In fact I got married here it's such an outstanding venue.

Went for a festive afternoon tea. Place was decorated for Xmas. Really lovely, delicious food. Service a bit strange, like some of the staff didn't know what was going on, but overall, a good experience.

Absolutely stunning venue, decor and scenery beautiful. The location is perfect for my colleagues and I as we work nearby. The food was excellent, my boss remarked that their starter was a definite '10'. The staff were not as friendly as I would have liked or expected, and my colleagues mentioned this also.

Menu more impressive than the food itself, 10 of us ate and nobody was blown aeay. Service was incredibly slow, we sat at 7.30 and had to chase the bill twice at 10.10, nearly 1 hour between each course and the portion's are small so it took less than 5 mins to eat mains. Venue looked stunning but they had a piano with no pianist! Overall very dissatisfied.

Went for afternoon tea for a special occasion and it was fantastic. The location was great and the grounds were fantastic. The food was delicious and the service was second to none. I would definitely recommend.

Old style hotel airy spacious, good quality food. Clean, spacious and wee maintained toilets. Good board room facilities with drinks and stationary. Good access to oh. Very pleasant.

The staff were so helpful and organised considering ours was the first ever corporate event the had held. The food was amazing and everything ran very smoothly. The venue is amazing. It was very pretty and everyone enjoyed themselves!

Amazing place, so beautiful in acres of natural open countryside. Food is simply top notch, the staff very friendly while being very professional. If you have a chance to stay and experience the place, do it, you won't regret it.

Went to see a musical there. They have a covered outside stage. There is a bar. The house is a hotel. That do weddings. Lovely grounds.

A second visit to the theatre in recent months and an absolute treat! It was an autumnal evening but, for a contribution to charity, audience members can borrow a warm red blanket to keep warm. Stage and audience are under cover in the event of rain but it is still 'open air'. The show, 'Top Hat', was sensational and fully deserving of its sold out run. If you want to go at Christmas or are thinking of next year's season, make sure you book early. With so many people and vehicles to move at the end, stewards have it down to a fine art with very efficient traffic control. Leaving the venue was swift and problems free.

A really wonderful evening. Extremely well organised. The food was very good considering they fed several hundred people in one sitting. It was fresh and beautifully cooked. Restaurant foid but with a home cooked quality. Service was okay could have been a bit more friendly and personal but I suppose the idea is to get everyone in and out on time. We then went to see Top Hat. Which was an absolute joy. Well acted, well sung, brilliant comic timing. My husband thought it was the best show he's been to. Of course the theatre setting is always a delight. There's no where else quite like it. Highly recommended.

Our first visit to this gem of a theatre in the woods. We went to see Top Hat and it was a brilliant show, great singing, dancing and some wonderful comic moments. Although not the finest evening weather wise, the setting in the woods was delightful. Great bar in the log cabin with a roaring fire. Plenty of helpful staff and plants of ladies loos behind the theatre, a real bonus! No queues here! Highly recommend.

I've not stayed or even eaten at the hotel, of course, but had a look around after a show at the open air theatre. It is very beautiful indeed and looks very luxurious. For anyone who can afford it. The theatre is wonderful, as an affordable alternative.

Another wonderful theatre trip to Kilworth Hotel to see Kiss Me Kate. Wonderful! Our guest was amazed by the scale of the operation and thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon. Special mention to the expertly marshalled parking arrangements in the extensive grounds ensuring ease of access to the (outdoor) theatre and departure afterwards. About 3 miles off J20 of the Market. Brilliant!

Excellent hotel. Staff were brilliant and really helpful. Location of hotel is superb in its well looked after grounds. Rooms were full of character and very comfortable. Would recommend for a short get away.

Beautiful house and gardens, with very attentive staff. I felt sorry for them having to look after our rabble of a birthday party but they did a great job. Amazing food as well, can definitely recommend the beef!

Got Married here Sept 2010 — Wow! Staff were amazing all day couldn't do enough to help there was some practically by my side all day (not just the wife) at my beckoning call. Setting is amazing, the resort itself is beautiful, we had a fair few of the rooms without hiring out the full place. Rooms were all stunning, and our suite was amazing. Food was out of this world so much so had our 1st anniversary there and managed to get the same menu. If you have ever visited or know someone that has there will always be a conversation about the toilets, I still have those conversations from people that attended. All the suites are themed and based around authors, all unique and with such character, if your planning a visit its well worth the extra but book well in advance as they get booked up fast especially when they have a show on at the theater.

A lovely setting for an outdoor theatre. It does however benefit from a canopy so rain shouldn't be too much of a problem if you are unlucky with the weather. We saw West Side Story there and the production and the set were fantastic.

My sister's wedding — beautiful house and grounds, lovely rooms and great service. Staff a little terse at times and not quite enough wine with the meal. However food was great and I really enjoyed myself.

Good food but slow service for a day with no one there. Also dirty glasses.

We stopped in the Kipling room which was absolutely stunning. Lots of space and lovely decor. The bathroom was a very good size with a very spacious shower, room for two. Complimentary port which was a nice touch. The food was lovely and arrived quickly and the lounge was comfortable. The only issue we had was the slow service at the bar. We would go again as we both had a fantastic time.

Kilworth House is the perfect place for great food and drinks in wonderful surroundings. Whether catching up with friends or a romantic meal with your loved one this place is hard to beat.

Food, service and staff were all fantastic. The hotel is stunningly beautiful and the grounds it occupies are immaculate. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone that wants a beautiful location for a formal gathering.

Great afternoon, the rat pack show was excellent.

Left waiting in the corridor because no space in the lounge. Had to wait 20 minutes for drinks. Not enough staff. Roof started leaking in the meal. Staff wouldn't help. "There's nothing we can do about it"

I went to see singing in the rain and the performance was excellent, I would definitely visit again. The grounds were beautiful and it was easy to get to.

KILWORTH HOUSE REVIEW – 15th December 2012 Our family today visited Kilworth House for my brother Philip’s 52nd birthday. The party of 9 was booked in for 12:30pm in the “Wordsworth Room” owing to their being a Christmas Event on in the Orangery. On arrival we were shown to the lounge where we waited for the rest of the party to join us for pre-dinner drinks. We ordered a selection of drinkswhich included a bottle of white and red wine with 5 glasses. The waitress came along and placed the drinks on the table along with two bottles of wine and the five glasses. Unusually for Kilworth the bottles were left on the table with their screw caps on. We waited for a few minutes to see if they would be opened and the wine poured but it didn’t happen. Not a major problem, so we poured it ourselves but not the normal standard of this hotel, which has always, prided itself on efficient high quality service. Definitely not five star, more Chef and Brewer! On to the meal ordering, my daughter has only recently been diagnosed with IBS so is dairy intolerant, but still a food lover. We ordered our food and she enquired of the Head Waiter in the Wordsworth if the salmon dish was dairy free, so he went to find out. On his return he said that it was not so she asked if she could have the smoked salmon on its own to which he sternly replied, “No”. No explanation was given but the attitude again was not becoming of this establishment.
