Wonderful setting, fabulous hosts!

We’ve spent a glorious week at Sentry Mead. Wonderful rooms and friendly, helpful staff. We’ll definitely be back!

Owners very welcoming, the room was spacious, bed was very comfy and room was spotless. We had a lovely time and would most definitely go again.

We can’t speak highly enough of this excellent hotel. The room was spotless, comfy bed, tasteful decor and tea/ coffee facilities. It was our wedding anniversary and we were greeted with a card and liqueur chocs. Breakfast was awesome and the hosts were very attentive and friendly. This is simply hospitality at its very best. We would highly recommend the Sentry Mead to anyone. Thank you Sarah and Jean-Pierre!

After an horrendous start to our break on the I. O. W, where the first accommodation we booked was not what was advertised; We found Sentry Mead on Booking. Com… …… What a god send! The hotel is lovely, booking was super easy, fast & non stressful. When we arrived we received a warm welcome from Jean-Pierre. We were shown around the hotel & then to our room. The room was a good size with en-suite bathroom. Every thing was clean, tidy & felt fresh & welcoming. Our dog, Obi, even received a bag of treats, along with a fluffy blanket to use during our stay. We had booked room only but decided to have the breakfast during our stay… So glad we did. It was delicious. Sarah & Jean-Pierre offer a good selection of fruits, cereals, fresh juices before you tuck into a full breakfast, which you can swap & change items. The breakfast was piping hot, cooked just right & tasted great; what a great way to start the day. We asked where we could eat in the evening & we were given lots of information. One restaurant stood out as it was only a few minutes walk away. Again we received fantastic, warm welcome here too.
We had travelled over to the Isle Of Wight on our electric car, which was a little concerning as we weren't sure about changing points, but we spoke to Jean-Pierre who said he was more than happy for us to charge our car at the hotel for a small fee. Absolutely amazing service from check-in to checkout.

Very welcoming. Clean and spacious. Excellent amenities and relaxation space. Service and breakfast excellent. Nothing too much trouble for the owners.

Great place, excellent service! Couldn't fault the service at this place. For a dog friendly place, this place can surpass any 'normal' hotel in terms of cleanliness and facilities. Our dog had some welcome 'gifts', which was a lovely surprise. And near to the beach for lovely walks. Great food too. Overall a great experience.

Beautiful accommodation within a stones throw of Totland beach. We had a lovely room with a sea view, the owners; Sarah and Jean-Pierre were very attentive. Our dogs were also made to feel welcome with some thoughtful touches such as soft blankets and treats in our room and towels at the door to clean wet paws. Excellent breakfast. Will definitely be back in the future!

Charming Owners and Staff, Perfect Guest house in every way, If you are contemplating a Holiday or even a short break on the IoW this is the place to stay.

Appsolutly wonderful hotel scrumpy breakfast, wonderful owners lovely staff briget really looks after you. Room was beautiful. Sarahs red grapefruit marmalade is so nice lovely touches in the room. Even though the hotel is dog friendly we didn't know they were there.

Fantastic. We received a really thoughtful email before our stay including recommendations for places to eat. We arrived after an 18 mile walk, the last two of which were through a deluge and we were sopping wet and cold. The welcome could not have been warmer or more accommodating. We managed to get dried off, warmed and fed whilst being sustained by the homemade flapjack which was a lovely gift in our room. The information pack and letter were similarly well thought through and considerate. The room was clean, warm and very comfortable. In the morning we had a great breakfast, particularly enjoying Sarah's grapefruit marmelade. Would definitely stay again.

Stayed at the Sentry for 4 days this week Lovely old hotel, lovely comfortable wide bed, and great breakfast.

Highly recommend! Aside from the amazing location and beautiful rooms it is the extra touches which in my view make this hotel so special. We stayed with our little dog and she was given her own soft blanket, water bowl and dog treats. There were numerous other little extras for us humans too! A wonderful and peaceful break. Thank you!

A lovely family run bed and breakfast/ hotel. The rooms are beautifully decorated, immaculately clean and comfortable. Wifi connection was perfect. The breakfast was delicious, and plentiful. The staff were friendly and the service very efficient. The hotel was perfectly located for walks along the cliff top and easy access to other parts of the island. All in all a wonderful stay on the Isle of Wight and I'd return to Sentry Mead in a beat.

Beautiful hotel, friendly welcoming staff We stayed in the Compton room, No View (we also didn't request one as we booked the day before) but gorgeous well equipped room. JP & Sarah have thought of all the small details that make your stay more relaxing and comfortable, from extra bedsheets (on those hot nights when a duvets is to much) in a cupboard on the landing, magnifying hand held mirrors on the vanity, powerful hairdryer (not your standard attached to the wall hotel dr…yer), full size bottle of hand and body lotion, perfect after a hot day on the beach and you won't find prepacked dried up biscuits on your tea tray but home made delicious flap jacks and complimentary bottles of water. JP is also your early morning milkman, and although there are milk portions on your tea tray he delivers fresh milk to each landing early in the morning for those who prefer their morning cuppa with fresh milk. The hotel is situated just across the road from the beach, and is set in a stunning private garden. The Sentry is a licensed property so you can enjoy your Gin &a Tonic in the garden or in the lounge, where you are also offered complimentary afternoon tea/coffee with homemade flapjacks between 4 and 6pm… Breakfast is fresh cooked to order with fresh fruit, cereals etc laid out for you to help yourself and enjoy and Sarah will adapt her menu to suit your taste or allergen needs.

The Sentry Mead has become the first hotel we look at booking in the Isle Of Wight without a doubt. It's our number 1 choice by far. From the moment you pull up Sarah and all the team at Sentry Mead genuinely want to make your stay perfect. The rooms are superbly decorated and warm. The beds are to die for comfy and the food is top quality. The location is really good with some good local eateries, bars and areas to explore. Sentry Mead will continue to be our "go to" hotel any time we visit this lovely Island. Room Tip: All the rooms are great but if you want to overlook the gardens then mention it whilst booking.

We loved our stay at Sentry Mead. Beautiful accomodation… and the level of hospitality and extra attention was exceptional. Jean Pierre and Sarah are a great team. Highly recommend them.
