Reasonably clean and quiet. Poor service, I specifically asked for the room to be cleaned and for towels. When we came back, nothing had been done. Gentleman on reception very friendly and helpful. Lady rude and unhelpful.

My husband and I stayed here for four nights with national holidays definitely go again to the this hotel the staff were very helpful and friendly the room was clean and tidy the bed was very comfortable and the food was lovely definitely go again. Dave the coach driver was great very knowledgeable about the island thanks for a safe journey home Dave hope we get you again.

Locks are traditional and no contactless keys available. Bathrooms and rooms are good and comfortable. TV available in the rooms does include screen casting. Wifi is available for the users.

Lovely venue for drinks and dancing.

Nice hotel meals pleasant room small double, very nice. Staff helpful and friendly. For the price cannot wish for better. National Holidays trip.

Most important thing about this hotel is it’s only for old people. The building is quiet old but clean. Don’t expect any standard in room or features. The food is really bad. The menu is very limited and is served only for on specific times which is very annoying. It’s ok for one night stand but if it’s for vacation please avoid as you might be disappointed.

Best service in dinning hall … Diane is a waitress worth a lot… energetic and on her post being helpfull… when you finished one dish the other one was in front of you before you got say anything. Food was wel prepared and was dished up warm. Enough for an army. The rooms were neat. The suitcases was delivered at our doors and on the last day been picked up in front of the rooms. There was bingo evenings with entertainers every night.

I have found that this hotel is very good, the food is well presented and the portions are big. Staff and service is good, the place is clean and well. Presented Entertainment has been brilliant.

Perfect location to the local beach. Rooms are clean and comfy, provided very good bed and breakfast.

Staff are friendly and helpful. The food is good. There doesn't seem to be any entertainment in the evenings. Very limited parking. The rooms are adequate but need to be updated and cleaned properly and drainage for the toilet in the room seems to be a problem.

Cleanliness is a issue. Rooms are full of dust. Even for a value for money rooms you expect basic cleanliness.

I do not recommend you to stay here. Firstly, the conditions of some of the rooms were below standard as there were spider webs and stains around my room, secondly, Wifi could not get to my room even though I lived on the second floor, which was not ideal as I had to use the internet for business reasons. Thirdly, the showers and baths were terrible, could not even adjust my temperatures right, which lead me into a cold. And finally, whilst having breakfast, they did not serve even below enough and we were asked to pay if we wanted more food. So in conclusion, there are many better hotels around the area; some were right in front of the beaches, I would recommend you to stay at another hotel. But on the good side though, the staff was very kind and helpful. Thank you!

Twixmas 2015 — 3 nights BB&EM, Food portions embarrassingly TINY!. That's O. K. If you want to loose a few pounds? Breakfast toast had mould on the edges. Evening meal was a joke! You got what was available, not what you chose from the menu. Cold veg, I gave up after the second night & ate out! The room was clean & tidy, newly fitted en-suite, but we wouldn't have a ground floor room again due to the SLUGS! It's not nice when you tread on one in the dark! They must be coming in during the night (And eating all the food? ). I thought that the low price of Twixmas breaks was to attract people at a normally quiet time, seems that STANDARDS are drastically lowered also, I didn't read that in the brochure!

Very basic steep narrow stairs but the food & staff were lovely. Nice walk down to beach or cliff lift available.

Needs decorating a fair bit but staff very friendly and helpful.

Cheap as can be. Okay if you just need a place to sleep for the night, but don't expect any comfort or quality.

Every expense spared in quality and maintenance of rooms and buildings. Unfortunately the cheap and cheer approach did not continue into the price at £90 a night!

Very friendly and helping staff. They were the only ones who agreed to look after our luggage while we take a walk on the beach and Shanklin Chine, EVEN after we checked out from hotel.

We arrived on a four day break and it couldn't have been bettered. We needed a ground floor room and received a very nice apology that it was a twin rather than a double. Who cares about that when the room was welcoming, the bed linen crisp and white, the towels always fresh and tea and coffee making available. This together with excellent staff (try and fault Chris in the dining room) made for a great short break. Thank you all.

We have just got back from staying in one of the most friendliest hotels we have ever stayed in The Medehamstede in Shanklin. They are the most accommidating people, you just feel at home the moment you step in the door. The food was lovely a good variation with sauces to match and always nice and hot thumbs up to the chef. (try his home made fish cakeswith mild chillie sauce) The rooms are very clean and yes we had clean towels EVERY DAY unlike some hotels we have stayed in. The hotel is very clean and comfortable. Our room was always nice and warm and so was the shower. Thankyou so much for a great holiday to all the team at the Medehamstede.
