Steed for 2 nights. Great room with everything we needed. Lovely breakfast. Really enjoyed staying here.

Great location… recently refurbed pub with spacious rooms and huge comfy beds. Great food choice and amazing breakfasts.

Beaultifull old building and a lot of thought was put in the decor. Lovely views of the pond if you seat by the window. Good food and very polite and friendly staff.

Large, smart gastro pub with hotel, overlooking Carshalton Ponds. Extensive dining area and large outside seating area which includes some comfortable booths. Reasonable selection of hand pulled Youngs ales and craft beer, food looked a cut above the average, but we did not eat here. A little lacking in character to be a great pub.

Very comfortable hotel with possibility to choose a continental or French breakfast. Nice exterior with direct access to the pub. On the other hand the person at the front desk was very rude when we arrived around 7pm the morning was fine.

Nice staff, polite… The burger was tasty but at £14.00 I would expect it to look pretty. Small plate and no salad… It needed colour.

Oh lovely pub/restaurant. Clean, great food, nice staff and baby facilities. We took our 21 month old to the park (ducks, squirrels and birds) opposite, such a nice day out.

I took my pensioner father to get his hair cut and do the usual 5 pints in this location instead of the usual one. Beautiful setting, with a plaque on the wall indicating it was a coaching Inn from 1700 which was a nice piece of provenance. Upon entry, they were still cleaning but were serving. I ordered a pint of Aspall cider and a pint of ordinary bitter. I was charged £9.65 for the two. Upon returning with my change, I chanced upon her name, and said it was great that after over 300 years they still had a direct descendant of Dick Turpin working the bar and customer. Bottles of cider £5.85 ouch. There is a nice practical barrel decoration by the bar where customers can have their trousers taken down as many times as they damn well like.

It was busy, but even so service was appauling and took us about and an hour just to get drinks. The atmosphere both inside and outside was packed full of people, very stuffy and absolutely horrendous for someone like me with social anxiety. That being said, food here is high quality and staff are friendly, if you ever get around to even seeing any of them through the outrageous queues.

Was at your pub this afternoon with my wife and son, we haven't enjoyed ourselves for ages, your meals was outstanding. Your staff are very polite. Refurbishment brilliant. Looking forward to revisiting later in the year.

Visited for lunch last Saturday with a well behaved 6 year old, food was excellent, especially the fish, can't really fault it at all (apart from the bread and butter pudding having to go back to get heated up).
Slightly disappointed we were told we weren't able to sit in the part of the restaurant that overlooks the ponds as they have a no children policy in that room as its carpeted! That area was empty, so all the families are crammed into the windowless area of the pub. Such a shame as bird and bus watching was what our little one was looking forward too.

Always have a lovely meal here. Staff are brilliant and always happy to help. Can get very busy on Sundays as it is so popular. It is always best to book your 2hour slot for Carshaltons best Sunday Roast.

We were guests overnight. Lovely welcome at the hotel and they very kindly aloud us access early to the room to change. Room is lovely and the pub is in a lovely area and a distinct vintage Inn. Breakfast was good my only downside a very weak shower.

Had a fabulous day on St. Patricks Day and watching the Rugby. Fantastic Food. Staff were very professional and very courteous. Well done to all.

Brilliant pub with wicked staff and really nice food… ideal for family get together or quick bite but also to pop in quick a quick drink too! The hotel has the most comfortable beds I ever slept in! Stayed there night before my wedding and was given a free glass of Dutch courage in the morning! Love this place.

Was Having a few drinks with friends. All going well until the so called manager I'm guessing who thinks he runs the show when all he does is managed a pub in Carshalton decided to be rude when he couldnt understand a joke. Management drinking amongst the customers… especially when the are becoming involved and drinking themselves… I came to this pub optimistic with my friend and his girlfreind. We left very disappointed with the main supervisor drinking himself and arguing with customers. Due to this reason will not be visiting again. Lovely atmosphere and lovely customers but seeing the manager or supervisor leave the bar and start drinking and looking down at customers and disrespecting them personal opinions.

Lovely lunch and great service. We were told there was a 45 min wait as soon as we entered so giving us a choice to order or go else were. We decided to sit, relax and chat and spot on time.

Fantastic pub. You wouldn't know until you went inside how fantastically traditional it was. I'd love to stay here next time too. Drinks quite expensive, but the atmosphere made it worth it.

A really nice pub that’s been totally transformed since they’ve refurbished it. Very good selection of drinks and a lovely dining room serving very good food. Warm, stylish and comfortable. We’ve also stayed at the hotel when we had guests for the weekend and needed to give up our bedroom. Nice rooms and superb breakfast. A real gem of a pub in Carshalton.

Nice bar with good food. The main food is large portions, which can be a good thing, but maybe a bit large for a lunch, there smaller options though.

A great place for Sunday lunch/dinner. There is lenty of choice in both wines and beers, and a selection of roasts, including vegetarian, and the staff are so noce and friendly it gives the place a homely feel. I would avoid the fish and chips however, too much grease and batter.

I've been staying here on average twice a month for the last couple of years when I visit our office. The hotel has always been good, but since it was refurbished about a year ago it has moved up the order. The rooms are comfortable and clean, and the 'upgrade' rooms overlooking the Carshalton pond are big and outstanding. Most of the rooms have a phone charger which is very useful. Breakfasts are top notch and the dinners are good but can be variable. I always stay here by choice — very friendly service.

Great pub, fantastic food and drinks. It's a little pricey, but I don't mind paying a little more for the good atmosphere. Bar tender was a little grumpy, but overall great atmosphere.

We ordered the Angus steak £28 and burger £13. The steak was nothing special, the bernaise sauce tasteless, the chips oily and of poor quality. Burger was very good. The pub was noisy even though it was half empty on a Wednesday night, and the waitress didn't know anything.

We moved to the area a year ago and only recently tried out the pub here. We now come in for a casual drink and more often for a bite to eat, roasts are certainly my favourite here. Staff are great, I even left my phone there last night and one of the girls kindly went on a quick hunt for me and kept it safe. Great atmosphere would recommend.

Lovely pub overlooking Carshalton Ponds and Honeywood Museum with Heritage Centre close by. Large car park area, lovely outdoor seating area. Great decor inside, good range of beers, wines, spirits and good food. Friendly staff.

We stayed at The Greyhound on our wedding night in the Pond View rooms which were absolutely beautiful! We also had a meal on the eve of our wedding with 25 guests and the Greyhound was very able to cater for such a large party in one sitting. The food was exceptional both the evening meal and the breakfast and the staff were all exceptional. They really couldn’t have done more for us. It really was a special stay with Colm and Anne Marie our hosts providing us with welcome drinks, a celebratory glass of prosecco and refrigerating our button holes and decorating our room with rose petals and Champagne. A really big thank you to all at The Greyhound! We will be regular visitors from now on!

Fantastic place, great food, great drink, great atmosphere. Wonderful staff. Fabulous hotel.

Dinner I had the cod with purple potatoes, sounded lovely but was a bit underwhelming; the cod was really nice and well cooked, the potatoes just tasted like normal potatoes and were unseasoned so not great taste really; the salad, dressed in grapefruit dressing, did not go well with the cod or the potatoes and was a strange taste which was barely edible. Our other dish, sausage and mash, was not great either, the sausage was good, the potatoes fine but the gravy was so salty it was not good at all. — and no veg for nearly £14.00 is not good. Overall I want to love the restaurant, the staff are lovely and its local but they need to refine their menu to ensure each is dish worthy of the fairly high prices and actually tastes good as well as sounds good.

I am very disappointed about the food we had there on 19/08/2017. Pub looks nice, have great location and is local to us, but unfortunately I am not going to eat food there again. I had the Greyhound cheese burger £13 and my husband had Beer Buttered Cod £14. Fish didn't taste like cod, no flavour at all and was slightly smelly. Both chips and fish were too greasy and when we have mention this as my husband couldn't finish it, we didn't get any response. It is not what you expect to eat for this price. Shame.

Always pleasant. Drinks aren't cheap tho. Food good enough. Plenty of seating inside and out.

The room was good for the price, nice to have a bath. The food was amazing, in particular the cooked part of the inclusive breakfast. Friendly staff, nice building, would stay again — great value for money.

Lovely location, great choice of food and drink. Shame about Youngs policy about not serving people in works uniform, found that to be a little discriminating.

Swift service on our food — nice selection of drinks as well with real ale as well as keg beer. Inside decor was nicely done and the outdoor cabin areas were cosy. Nice location near the ponds.

If you work for a living and just want a drink when you finish a hard days work, then dont come to this pub. Apperently youngs have a policy of no work clothing in there pubs, but from the next 3 youngs pub we visited and were served in, are full of people in there work gear apperently these other youngs pubs have never heard this rule before. I may also say we were very good customers and have drank in there wearing the same work wear for the last year and it was fine for all that time.

Went to the pub for a few beers, decent selection of different ales and beers. Quite good atmosphere with the music playing and seats were. Comfy with a selection of sofas, armchairs and wooden chairs. Didn't use the restaurant but it looked nice. I had a burger in the pub was decent enough, quite expensive though. All in all a nice drink and would go again.

Nice atmosphere, slightly limited beer range if you're after craft.

Family lunch for Mothers Day and a 75th Birthday, large group of us were given our own quiet area, food was second to none, all served together and piping hot, Staff were very attentive and nothing was too much trouble, would highly recommend.

Fabulous Sunday lunch, whole family thought it was the best ever — especially the slow cooked lamb shoulder. Go there!

Very good location. Convenient for all of the shops and facilities in Carshalton high street. Excellent spacious free car park on site. Comfortable rooms, with all of the usual facilities. Breakfast which was included in our room rate was very nice with some items served buffet style. Some lovely Youngs Ales available at the bar too. Free Wi-Fi worked well also.

Lovely pub, good service and the quiz night on a Sunday is good fun.

Nice pub, lovely layout. Slight shame that the food was late for one of us as it had not all been cooked at the same time. Would still go again.

What a hell hole. Myself and my friend were ignored for the first 5 minutes because the barmen were too busy chatting amongst themselves, then I asked for a Guinness and they had none (a pub with no Guinness?! ) So I ordered a red wine instead and they charged me £7.40 for it! I wouldn't spend as much on a bottle of red wine. I normally pay £5.00 for a bottle of decent shiraz and this wine one glass I paid £7.40 for was of a much poorer quality than the wine I usually drink. The staff are rude and unfriendly. The looks on their faces say it all really. They should be working in a funeral parlour not a pub! My friend ordered a portion of chips that she had to wait 40 minutes for and by this time we wanted to leave as the barmen seemed to take great joy in smashing bottles in the bins just to annoy us. Every time we glanced over to see what all the racket was they would be looking at us smirking and sarcastically apologise. Unbelievable behaviour from bar staff. My two year old would do a better job. When my friend finally got her chips after having to ask where they were twice she was charged £4 for them. £4 for about twenty manky chips thrown in to a polystyrene burger box. The chips were about as good as my wine, the wine was similar to the staffs attitude. Sour and overall pretty unpleasant. Very bad atmosphere as you don't feel welcome and you actually feel as if the staff are going out of their way to make you uncomfortable.

We visited the Grayhound today after hearing that it had undergone some recent changes the staff were courteous and attentive, the surroundings were good and in keeping with such old building. Food was very much improved and we will be going there again in the near future, the changes the new management team have made are impressive considering the short amount of time it has taken to bring the pub / hotel back up to a good standard.

Nice old building, food is ok, beer is expensive, some of the staff are good but some are rude.

Staff are rude food is crap décor very outdated.

Pretty reasonable food, but nothing remarkable. Beer was standard Youngsters fare, not particularly well-kept, but perfectly drinkable.

Nice surroundings but service was slow and food was a bit disappointing.
