Beautiful hotel and friendly staff.

The hotel has been much improved over the last couple of years and is very clean, the staff are very friendly and helpful.
the food was very tasty at the venue I attended.
unfortunately I didn't get much sleep as there was a horrible noise that kept going on through the evening night and early morning, spoke to the manager who apologised and said he believed it could have been air in the heating system and he would investigate and get back to me in a few days.
enjoyed my stay other than not getting any sleep.

Very easy to get too. Lot of parking. Beautiful function room. No need for additional decor.

Had a lovely stay last weekend, we were there for a wedding which was held at the hotel. Can’t fault the staff very friendly and attentive. The only criticism I have is the bathroom. It wasn’t as clean as I’d like and shower didn’t drain quickly enough (maybe plug was blocked) so the water overflowed all over the bathroom floor. As a family of 4 trying to get showered and ready for a wedding this a royal pain in you know what. You had to do as much as you can before stopping the water to let it go down (standing there freezing! ) didn’t really have time to complain as we had to get down to the wedding. I thought it may just be our room but when I mentioned it to my brothers who had a room a few doors down they had the same problem! Other than this the room was great, very spacious and plenty big enough for 2 adults and 2 tweens!

Absolutely zero level of customer service. Staff all appeared to have no idea of how to donthere jobs, very unfriendly and unhelpful. Asked three times for a drink and they still get it wrong. Very poor service, average facilities.

What a beautiful hotel! The staff was so friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Very reasonably priced. Great resistant and fab breakfast we will definitely be coming back again. Massive thank you to the manager who kindly helped us resolve a problem which was out of his control but he made sure our stay wasn’t spoilt. Thank you.

I attended a wedding at this hotel. Plenty of parking space, the hall was well decorated and well proportioned. The only let down was the lack of air conditioning which meant guests were fanning themselves using whatever they could find. After about 3-5 hours into the wedding, some industrial fans were eventually provided much to the release of guests.

Nice looking hotel and the room was in good condition. The restaurant staff were terrible. First they forgot to come and take my order after seating me outside. Then the service was so slow I didn't bother ordering dessert. Breakfast staff were great however. I wouldn't stay here again due to the loud banging of doors all evening and again from 6am, there was also a loud whirring noise presumably other people's toilets flushing or something. Not a good sleep, premier inns are quieter than this.

The hallmark hotel was very well presented and the staff were very personable and helpful. As a guest the parking was free and the hotel was easy to find. Our event was well hosted and the waiting staff were extremely attentive. I would definitely recommend.

A Big Thanks to Demi Gee, what an asset to your hotel, extremely friendly, and so professional and caring. Loved the newly refurbished room, it was very large and so comfortable with arm chairs massive bed, and the room service was amazing great hot food. We highly recommend this hotel, and if we ever need to stay over in Essex again you would be the number one choice.

Staff are pleasant and friendly. They need a better selection of alcohol in the bar. Lovely Decor inside the hotel. Dislike going down to the toilets in the restaurant on a busy night. Staff are so young. Could you imagine this place if there was a "professional" bar tender. Need security when there is a wedding as the noise levels are not maintained. Room was very clean, spacious and the bed was comfortable. Nice place to meet a different type of people on a Saturday night.

My room was very recently refurbished. It was nice and comfortable. That said, it was very warm for me but had no air con. As my room faced the road, it was too noisy to open the windows. A shame as it would otherwise have been great. A few other minor glitches but staff were friendly and accommodating.

Come here for two nights on a Dinner b&b package. Great hotel just in the middle of some room renovations. Nice big spacious room and comfy bed. The shower is amazing. Reception were really freindly and couldnt be more helpful. All in all a great trip to London. Thank you Hallmark for making our stay enjoyable.

Nice afternoon tea with generous portions and comfortable seats. The staff were very accommodating to children and even didn't charge for some puddings we ordered for the children, which I thought was kind and generous. I would recommend it. There is also a nice garden although we didn't sit in it because it was snowing!

I attended this hotel to do my guide dog training. I found the room to be very clean and the staff were lovely. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. I would most certainly choose to stay here again.

Attended mother's day lunch yesterday. Staff very friendly and attentive. Food was excellent. Also came here on christmas day and it was fantastic. Will be booking for next year. Next stop: afternoon tea which looked amazing!

We were there for a meeting so didn’t use the hotel, but the staff were great, very attentive and friendly, car park a little small, easy to find the place.

Attended a gala dinner here. Nice enough venue, but the quality and the service was exceptionally bad. Not nearly enough bar staff. Badly stocked bar Beer pumps not working Temp bar staff that had no clue at all. In summary… NOT GOOD!

Great location, really nice service for an unexpectedly low price.

Went for afternoon tea with a party of 12. Plenty of nice finger sandwiches and good accommodation of veggie requirements. Had better scones though and the small cakes selection not very imaginative. Offered refill of tea and coffee, which was good.

So we visited the hotel between 28th-30th Dec 17. First day arrived Receptionist questioning my partner re parking charges, yet when booked were told free parking. Went for dinner that evening to be told no vegetables, certain meal unavailable, the wine we wanted was unavailable & candle could not be lit as nothing to light it with. On going to bed, the pillows were like cardboard & bed mattress just to firm. Wasn't impressed with having to boil the kettle in a wardrobe. Plug in sink didn't stay down, so partner struggled with a wet shave. Cobwebs were disgusting, thick & covered vents of radiator cover. Stayed in room 204.

Stayed at the hotel for their Xmas Motown party night. Fantastic night the entertainment with the "Groove Sistas" was amazing also the DJ Ian was first class. Will be hoping for more of these functions in the future.

It was a shame that this hotel needed to be reminded of its disability requirements as there is no provision for disabled people near the food at breakfast. We were taken to the back of room until I pointed out that my wife was disabled. Once I did we were moved a little closer to the food. The bedroom was cold when we first entered the room. It didn’t warm up for some time once the heating was put on it took about an hour to warm up also windows were very draughty and not double glazed. We had some problems with people talking below our window but on a positive note I did mention this to reception at 12:45 in the morning and it stopped immediately. In general for hotel is maintained well and the staff are friendly. I’m sure these things are just isolated problems. Last comment the parking is not free unless you book direct.

Beds are hard as concrete, which some might like (not me). Service and staff are nice and quick. Breakfast buffet is the second worst I've ever seen. Not even offering a slice of cheese or ham for your sandwich, only topping was marmite and one kind of marmalade. TV didn't work but they fixed it while out for dinner. Compared to other hotels in UK it might get 3/5 stars but for the price, and staying here a week with that breakfast. No thanks. If all you want is egg and bacon, fine.

Parking was a nightmare due to there being 2 events happening, but the car park wasn't being managed. Food ranged from being very good to questionable. My dinner summed it up. Ordered the chicken supreme, the chicken was cooked very well and tasted great, but the dish was meant to come with some carmelised potatoes. Asked for these potatoes and was given a bowl of boiled but raw potatoes and some other random veg. Breakfast was fine. The rooms itself was great and service was generally very good to.

Fair venue, a bit dilapidated. Comfortably hosts an event of 60+, with ample parking, but access is undesirable for those on public transport. Lunch was lacking, and the staff, while helpful, were less than present — not to mention stacking china in the room while the meeting was in progress. Unlikely to book again.

Great place. Attended a function in the Princess Suite… friendly staff and great service. Even provided me with Chilli sauce with our our fancy slap up 3 course meal. Faultless.

Very friendly staff and a nice welcoming environment. Some of the areas do seem a little dated with large chandlers dotted throughout, but overall a very nice place. Lots of parking available, just it can be tough getting into the car park at rush hour as it's on a very congested road.

Nice experience at the hotel! Everything was top class. Would consider this venue.

Good medium sized hall ideal for birthday, wedding and other parties. We had 350 guests. Parking available. Recommended.

Nice rooms etc but alot of money for what it is. Showers average, early breakfast finish. A few items were left in the hotel and no help with finding it. Overall coat more than worth but ok.

Went there to shoot a wedding as a photographer. I went down to the restaurant to order some food as they didn't want to serve us when we arrived (We started work at 9am and now was 3pm). They didn't let us sit down in the restaurant. They send us to the bar. We ordered the supe of the day to be quick as the bride and groom was arriving in 20min. First of all they come with the bill so they make sure we going to pay the £12 for the food. I feel like I'm criminal. They brought out the soup cold and they brought 2 spoons and one tissue like we have to share it. I never felt so humiliated in my life. Following that, at the wedding reception the bring me the starter on the dance floor while I was shooting saying "this is for you". I took it and go to the table. At the table no forks or anything to eat with. I asked them to get me one and after 20min I had to ask again. By the time I started eating the food was cold… The stuff not friendly at all… Not recommended for any events or food!

The bar lady was good and very friendly but the crisps were £3.50! She warned me before I bought them that they were very expensive… It's a great place but could be so much hassle better and has loads of room for improvements.

The staff were friendly and our check in and out was quick and easy. The hotel looks great, we enjoyed the gardens and hall as we were attending a wedding here. Our family room was large and comfortable. I would recommend this hotel.

Prince Regent is located off Manor Rd, Chigwell. It is a nice building well maintained and gives a feeling of peaceful and relaxed atmosphere. The reception room was well decorated and the service was efficient and friendly. I had an enjoyable experience.

Very dated not that clean as it's so old but the hotel does have very nice grounds… We booked a room for the two of us me and my girlfriend but yet there was only 1 hot chocolate 1 welcome biscuit 1 towel and half the lights in the room didn't work either.

Location of the hotel was great. The room was very dated indeed, with a shower suitable for a dwarf. Only one towel in the room and remnants of a toilet roll with no additional one. Food in the restaurant was top quality.

I had my wedding reception here. The bar staff were unbelievably amazing. Extremely helpful and polite. We stayed in tge honeymoon sweet and I was amazed at the amount of space and how luxurious everything was. They even went the extra mile will decorative towels and rose petals without needing to ask. Room service was spot on. I can't fault this place one bit. I would highly recommend. The food at the reception I thought was a little pricey until it arrived. I would have gladly payed more for what we had considering the quality and amount of food. Every member of staff would go above and beyond.

My family and I decided to book this hotel since we were attending a family wedding reception at the hotel. The reception started at 6pm so we decided to check in at 4:30pm to get ready before the event. It took hotel staff approx an hour to get an iron to us after numerous phone calls and a face to face discussion with a dismissive assistant manager. We had to rush to get ready! The hotel is tired and the rooms are in serious need of renovation. We were given a room with a rattly door which kept us awake all night. The rooms had no air con and the windows didn't open. The creaky shower was tiny and barely tall enough for a 6' person to use. Our children's room had 3 spiders, one of which was in the bed! I have stayed in Hallmark hotels previously and been happy with standards, but this is very poor and disappointing… Never again, beware.

Attended a charity lunch 29th Feb 2016, unfortunately it was the worst experience of any function I have ever attended. The tables designed for 8 had 12 places set which made it impossible to eat properly. The food was diabolical, food was left sitting on the tables for God knows how long, the starter for 12 was not enough for 6. One jug of water on the table, we waited over an hour for our bread rolls which were frozen when they were served. The main course of a piece of salmon and a few lettuce leaves was yuk. We waited for over an hour for the bar to open, the barman raising his eyebrows when he eventually got round to serving. The whole venue is dirty and shabby, the lights loom as if they have never been cleaned. The place was unbelievably understaffed, with those with a position of management totally disinterested in any complaints. The whole experience was disgraceful with food taking over 3 hours to complete. I would advise anyone to avoid this establishment at all costs. I felt embarrassed taking guests with me.

Good brekkie… Stayed in the larger double which was spacious… Big enough for a cot and campbed.

Rooms could be upgraded. The food and the service in general were not of the highest standard.

I would give negative stars if I could. We booked several rooms for our company do. Mine had no hot water, so we changed rooms, into initially a room with another guest who was getting undressed… and after the event, THREE other of our guests said there rooms had insufficient hot water to even have a shower. Amongst many complaints, the funniest was the guy outside smoking the world's largest joint, and who was still there 20 minutes later after we told the reception staff. The Manager promised his General Manager would call me regarding my complaints, he never did, and a follow-up email via their "contact us" page produced no follow-up either. The place is a shambles, a cross between Fawlty Towers and an old Cheech and Chong movie. We won't use them again and I recommend you don't either.

Great location and facilities, went for a xmas party and unfortunately the bar staff were very slow.

Brilliant venue for a wedding. We had our reception there and the guests really enjoyed the outdoor garden area and the regency suite.

We had our wedding there October 2014, and I couldn't speak highly enough of how Johnathon and staff went for us from start to finish he completely took all our stress away and the day run so smoothly we couldn't have been happier! Our room and our guests rooms were beautiful as well! We will defiantly be recommending and returning! Thank you to you again! :-) Mr & Mrs Shearer.

Would highly recommend this hotel. Lovely staff with amazing service they really go that exter mile to ensuring guest are satisfied and happy. Great breakfast and lovely rooms.

This place is a popular wedding venue as there is a picturesque church over the road.

Somethimes I just go here to look at the rear gardens — they are spectacular.
