If we (my husband and I) had not have been seriously inconvenienced during our stay at The Beverley 30 May to I June 2018 I would have given this hotel 5 stars. Without going into great detail, we stayed here in order to attend the Royal Garden Party on 31 May. The hotel is lovely, very clean, good standard of fixtures and fittings etc, pleasant, obliging staff. However, for approximately half of our two day stay there we were without electricicity! This obviously was extremely inconvenient and the power was just on/off for most of our stay! We just about managed to have a shower before going to Buckingham Palace. I wrote an email of complaint on 2 June and so far have not even had the courtesy of an acknowledgement of receipt. In my email I listed approximate times and other information and merely asked for an explanation but so far have not heard a thing from the hotel I might add that the lovely reception staff did all they possibly could to help but they are not electricians so were obviously limited. Late on our last night there we could not even get a torch from them to make our getting about just a bit better. We were offered candles but felt that this was too unsafe so refused. I do not blame them in any way for our inconvenience. They were kindness itself to us. But the Buck should stop somewhere surely?! This apparent disregard on the management’s part really spoilt what should have been a once in a life time break. At almost £400.00 for two nights accommodation we certainly expected a better service than was provided for us. I would advise potential ‘bookers’ to think twice before stopping here as complaints (and ours is a major one) appear to be treated with complete disregard. I, for one, would never stop here again!
