Modern facade, falls away quickly. I travel to London a few times a year for work. I am from the USA. I was unable to stay in my normal hotel choices, so I tried the Hotel Delmere. The room itself was "cosy" (AKA Incredibly small), but had a very modern look. I have come to accept smaller rooms in the UK than you get in the USA. However this was probably the smallest hotel room I have ever had. The Bed was not only tiny, but needed to be rotated badly. It was significantly taller on one side (the side against the wall) than the other (the other side). I felt like I was sleeping on a hill all night because the bed was so uneven. It was the worst hotel bed I have had in my life. The bathroom was not only tiny, but poorly designed. When sitting on the toilet the sink counter was jabbing me in the chest. It is not an exaggeration to say that an airline bathroom would be a spacious upgrade to this. The room had a very modern facade, but it was mostly just looks and little function. I could not control the heat/cooling from my own room (there were digital controls, but they didn't do anything). The front desk however could control the heat and cooling so I had to call down 3 times a way to have them adjust my room temperature. The continental breakfast was OK at best, but for nearly 10 Pounds you would be better off hitting the numerous restaurants in the area. No in-room refrigerator or microwave. Location was good, and staff were fairly friendly. All in all this hotel was OK, but I will not be coming back.
