Actually terrible and management have decided to say that I'm the "type" to try and get a free stay. I have to say I've never actually requested a refund from a hotel. 1) no one answered the door after multiple doorbell rings
2) The man at reception complained to us that we spoke to booking. Com instead of ringing the emergency number which was posted on the front door. It quite literally said in case of emergency ring ***, while being stranded outside was annoying it didn't quite constitute an emergency.
3) No lobby or seating available which was surprising. I don't think I've ever been to a hotel without a waiting area.
4) In the first room the bed slats broke when the bed was sat on. It wasn't the actual wood but the plastic parts that hold the slats in.
5) No sanitary bin in either room we stayed in which is actually a legal requirement.
6) In the replacement room the floor was wet under foot.
7) The bedside cabinet was damaged with the veneer peeled off.
8) The carpet didn't meet the walls.
9) Air conditioning was broken.
10) After reporting air con to housekeeping nothing was done, noone made any effort to check it or us.
11) No hair dryer in the second room.
12) It was generally worn and low quality.
13) Only one chair in a triple room. In the original room there was no mirror in the room.
14) There was an unannounced fire alarm test early on Sunday morning. If it wasn't ab test then it's concerning noone came to check we were evacuating or ok. If it was a test then 7.30am on a Sunday is not a good choice.
15) No staff anywhere, when we tried ringing reception bell no one came. Checking out was us being told to leave the key on the reception desk by housekeeping.
16) Paper thin walls. This may be due to the building restrictions but something to be aware of.
17) No hand towels in bathroom.
18) The nlmattresses were old and you could feel the springs.
19) The bed frame broke when getting up from sitting (yes a second bed) but this was actually the bed frame.
20) There was no one around to report to other than housekeeping staff who didn't seem to understand much English which is not an issue in of itself but we can't make someone aware if they don't understand what we are telling them. There wasn't anyone from reception or who was supposed to deal with guests to support them or be referred to if housekeeping couldn't help.
