We booked to stay here as an impromptu last minute thing. Luckily, they had a room available due to a cancellation.
Such a gem of a place. Great, friendly staff, amazing decor, a stunning menu with a great range of drinks to choose from. We stayed in Forelle. A beautiful room, cosily nestled in the eaves at the rear of the pub. Spacious, beautifully laid out and with really amazing toiletries supplied by Bramley. The bed was super comfy and made for a solid peaceful night’s sleep. The evening meal was first class and you can tell that the food is cooked with real passion and attention. I had the lamb 3 ways which was served with a great array of seasonal veg and a fantastic Moroccan couscous. This place is exceptional and the only thing that upset us, is that there was no availability to stay another night. Exceptional place, exceptional staff and exceptional food.
A wonderful experience and we will be back. So worth the 4 hour drive from home.

Take away last night. Absolutely superb. Massive burgers, very spicy curry, all delicious. Good value too.

Fabulous delivery of fish and chips plus sticky toffee pudding just for me on my lockdown birthday. Will definitely be re-ordering next week. A real treat in these strange times. Thanks for being there and keeping the community spirits up.

We’ve just had the most delicious takeaway from here during the Lockdown period and the Fish and chips were the best ever. My husband and daughter had the burgers and they loved them. We will definitely be coming back. Thank you very much x.

Our second visit as a stopover on our way to Cornwall. Service is good the rooms we have with our dogs are super and the food is very good.

This Inn is a must attend restaurant. From the mismatched dinner ware to the stunning menu and friendly service; the place is charming and the food outstanding. I would go back many times!

Popped in today with the clan. Excellent service, excellent food and excellent surroundings. The Pear Tree is and should be a national treasure. In a world of chains it is a positive breath of fresh air. 5 stars isn't enough.

Fab place with lots of seating choices both inside and out. Well laid out with nice secluded areas giving the feeling of intimacy Big outside area with nice lawns and great to be able to see them growing large amounts of their own produce. Menu was very good and reasonably priced. Will return.

Visited 2 days ago with family who were here for the weekend — beautiful restaurant and so gorgeous in the sunshine! Food was amazing and nothing was too much trouble for the staff who were friendly and helpful.! My gusets were also very impressed! Will be visiting again very soon!

I like to think I am someone who can give a review of eating establishments near and far, and am willing to pass on my experiences to any that consider the place and ask. I was very fortunate to be directed in the same way to a fine eatery in the UK just recently. Amid all the lures of fine foods in the south west of England sits a place that offers the peace and tranquility of the countryside and well prepared food from local, rustic farms. This blended with the 17th cent…ury farmhouse setting meant it was real treat for my wife and I on a visit from the USA. The Pear Tree Inn at Whitley The weather in the UK had provided somewhat of a snow day for the locals, however the staff had arrived to give the same service as always. Sunday lunch providing an opportunity to bring together some of the family from both sides of the Atlantic, meant we could experience the restaurant in full swing and enjoy our lunch with all ages of attendees. The first thing you notice is the staff are both very friendly and informed, the waitresses moving quickly through the dining rooms ensuring diners best service.
Then there is the food, the menu is well presented and simple, a vast passage from restaurants with 300 choices and nowhere to really know what you want to eat. Using only the best of seasonal produce, the chef has created a menu you can both appreciate and get down to the nitty gritty of making your choice.

Beautiful place. Stayed here in the autumn and loved it. Room was spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was delightful.

Attentive service and very friendly. The food was excellent and reasonable priced. We visited for lunch and it was relatively quiet but the atmosphere was still good. The pub section had a warm and cosy feeling with open log fires. We will go back.

Went there for a Sunday lunch with friends and all I can say is the menu was not too big but quite unique and there was good selection of dishes, could do with few more vegetarian options though. The food was great and we were all happy and nobody complaint, desserts were delicious and we have spent very enjoyable afternoon! I love the building and interior and there is great atmosphere overall, very cosy place to spend cool afternoon. Definitely recommended!

My first visit to this pub/restaurant was greeted by a friendly chap behind the bar, the open fire was roaring away and very cozy. We were 8 people booked in for Sunday evening supper. Good menu with enough things to keep us all happy, the food was very good and with a detailed explanation of where most things come from locally. It is a bit more expensive than other pubs I've eaten in recently but the food was good and worth that bit extra. I can't comment on the beer as I was driving but there was a choice of 4 different ales plus lager and cider. All in all a nice place to be and would recommend it to friends and family.

Very good late Sunday roast lunch. Delightful venue, pleasant staff, reasonable prices. Only downside of arriving late in the afternoon was the restricted choice. The beef was excellent, and the accompanying vegetables delicious and cooked just right. Good value children's menu, too.

We have just returned home from Pear Tree. We had three lovely days. From our arrival to our departure we were indulgedcwith wonderful hospitality… (Wendy is outstanding lovely lady) great food breakfast was a banquet beautifully presented and always piping hot poached eggs are the best. Attention to detail in our room was lovely. There is a Pear theme running throughout the Inn. Sumptuous soft towels our room was cosy comfortable and tastefully decorated with a good quality shower over the bath with unlimited hot water. Great complimentary toiletries too. It’s a must to experience pre supper drink bar staff certainly know how to prep and serve G&Ts wonderful wine with interesting history of the vineyard. Thank you Pear Tree staff for making our stay awesome.

Beautiful gastro pub inside and out. Large car park at front of pub. Old stone pub. Lovely flower garden and patio at the front and side with wrought iron garden furniture. Extensive lawns also to the side. Good choice of food, beer and wine. Onion squash soup and chicken dinner. Hot plates, great flavours. Polite courteous and friendly service. Good value. Would definitely go again.

Lovely restaurant and bar. We enjoyed a fine meal in cozy surroundings. The service was excellent without being intrusive. The food was well prepared, cooked and it was tasty. I would recommend it and plan to return.

We sat outside as the weather was nice and it was probably the nicest pub garden I've been to. There was lots of areas to choose from and where we sat felt very secluded from other patrons. The pub itself is very rustic and beautiful, with old beams and heavy doors. The staff were really friendly and I wish I lived local to visit again!

Went for drinks on a sunny Sunday afternoon. This attractive pub is situated in a quiet tranquil setting, with a nice outside seating area. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. Would definitely recommend going.

One of our best weekend stays. Great location close to Bath and surrounding Somerset/Wiltshire countryside. Bus stop for Bath directly outside the inn. Good but slightly restricted menu for a three night stay. Staff/Team consistently attentive but not intrusive. Ohhhh and the breakfast… Well going home happy but need to exercise now :-)

Amazing staff, decor very much like The Pig in Bath, with their vegetable garden and locally sourced produce. The menu was top notch homemade pub grub with finesse, good choice of meat and fish, making it a super gastro pub. We'll be making this our 'local' P. S. Love the interior design.

Was taken here for a meal for Father's Day. All I can say is wow. The whole ambience of the place is wonderful. Children were playing outside in the garden and there was a lovely homely feel to the restaurant. The food was superb and the service excellent. All together I highly recommend trying the Pear Tree Inn and I will be back myself very soon.

High quality freshly cooked food that tastes great, set in a beautiful environment with well kept gardens. Complimented by friendly staff and good ale. Good value for money. Very much admire everything about this perfect example of a country pub.
