These are some of the best self-catering cottages I've ever stayed at. The owners were really nice to us, and the place was absolutely spotless. Everything that was provided was of top notch quality, and we really appreciated the comprehensive kitchen. We stayed in the 'Cobnut' cottage, which overlooks a grassy paddock with a few sheep, goats, and a very cheeky duck. The owners also went above and beyond by going out at the last minute and purchasing a shower seat for my mother who has difficulties showering while standing up. The grounds are great for rambling and exploring — there's a vegetable patch, a fruit orchard, and a woods proper if you like that sort of thing. The owners also provided a comprehensive list of pubs and restaurants in the area which came in really handy — we highly recommend the Mason's Arms which is just 2 minutes from the cottages. All in all — a fantastic experience!
If you're looking for a cozy getaway not too far from London, I highly recommend staying at Heath Farm cottages in Cotswolds. Just a short drive from central London and conveniently located near dozens of great gastropubs, yet surrounded by nature, greenery, and tranquility. Stayed at Heath Farm cottages with my husband and in-laws for a week. Upon booking our stay, we were given a comprehensive list of gastro pubs and restaurants nearby prior to our arrival. This came in really handy when reception in the area was bad. While advertised as a self catering accommodation, the cottage we stayed in was fully equipped with linen, top notch a kitchen appliances, fine cutlery, even a picnic basket, and basically everything you could possible ever need, and more. We learnt from one the family members that the interior of the cottage was lovingly hand made with high quality wood furnishings sourced from the woodlands on the grounds of Heath Farms. The cottage we stayed in was impeccable — you could tell the staff really made sure everything was spick and span. The grounds are absolutely stunning — sheep, goat and ducks roaming the grounds, fruit tree plantations, woodlands, flower gardens, vegetable patches and acres to explore as well as play areas for children. A big thank you to the family hosts at Heath Farm cottages. Thank you for being such helpful and wonderful hosts (apologies for not having time to write in your guest book, hope this makes up for it!
