Pete is lush and lovely and kind and a really nice man and so is his pub ps whats the code for the car park.

Looks a bit rough on the outside but rooms have been refurbished. Other areas are due to be refurbished. Reasonable price for Oxford Central. Bar prices reasonable. Friendly staff and clients. Would recommend if you're not looking for high class establishment. Plenty of food at breakfast.

The Inn does its job. The rooms are cozy but nice. Nothing to complain about really. Although we had to place our duvet on top of the madress due to the uncomfortable feel of the springs right in the back. The breakfast isn't very good in my opinion. The sausages were very sweet and bland with no texture what so ever. The egg was soggy, and cooked in oil. Overall it is an okey place to stay.

This is an old coaching inn as such needs renovated throughout. Our room was directly above the bar and could hear every conversation, quiz and football match. At 11pm silence, apart from the busy road outside. The bathroom was very small, very dark no windows and vent not working. The best thing was the walk into Oxford and the pub across the road. It served its purpose.

As a contractor it was a great place to stay.

Disappointing — not worth £100 a night.

Pete the landlord has always made my friends and I feel very welcome. He's a generous guy and is always helpful. Sitting out front on the benches having an ice cold beer with friends, a perfect afternoon. ☺

5 stars every time, Pete is a fantastic landlord, Old black horse gives your a cosy home feel, brilliant location on st. Clements (10 min walk into town over Magdalen bridge) plenty of parking in the private car park at the back. Would highly recommend THE OLD BLACK HORSE for all event's, drinks, meals, overnight staying.

Great ambiance, old house with low ceilings. The room was high standard and tidy. It might be loud if you have a window to the street, because the house is next to a main road. But our room was to the back, so it was very quiet. There is a big car park only for guests. The only disappointing thing was the breakfast. The cooked one was perfect, but there was also muesli which was old and scruffy fruit and mouldy jam. Nevertheless, I can really recommend this accommodation (if you can do without muesli in the morning).

Pub, restaraunt, guest house and legendary historical site. Always busy and great for watching footy events, there's TVs everywhere and a projection system. We love it there.

Lied to me about charges, mis-sold the accommodation. All in all a complete joke. There are better and cheaper places to stay in Oxford.

Booked via the internet. If we had known the rooms were over a very noisy pub, small with a bathroom you couldn't turn around in we wouldn't have bothered. Member of staff didn't seem at all surprised when after looking at the rooms we said we weren't prepared to pay £190.00 for two rooms we'd booked. Very very disappointing. The only good thing they didn't charge us when we said we weren't prepared to stay at that price for what we were going to get. I'm sure the rooms out in the car park would at least have been quiet.

A disappointing stay. We stayed in room 7 for one evening, paid £95. The room and standard of decor was old and dated, had we we paid half the price this may have proved acceptable. We found the manner/level of service poor and unfriendly bordering on plain rude. Despite the well placed situation of this inn I would suggest looking elsewhere if you value friendly service or value for money.
