Very conveniently situated. No idea what people expect from a guest house but there is nothing wrong with this place. Ignore the nasty comments. I have stayed three times and been perfectly happy. If there is something wrong, tell them and they will put it right. If all you need is a place to rest your head, this is the place. Five minutes from Magdalen Bridge. Plenty of buses too.

We stayed in the Family Room at the Cherwell Guest House when visiting the Oxford Open Day. Fantastic location with a very friendly welcome, and the room was lovely with lots of space and plenty of pillows and towels. It takes about 10 minutes to walk into Oxford… Less to get to St Hilda's College, and there are also 2 Sainsburys within walking distance, and numerous eateries and pubs. The only downside was the shower, which wasn't the most powerful… But it was adequate and in fairness… In my experience the water pressure isn't great in Oxford anywhere! If you are also wanting to go on into London… as we had to for another Open Day, you can catch the Oxford Tube (bus) which takes about 1 hour 40 just down the road and round the corner which costs £9 per adult off peak. I would definitely stay again… so now the teenager just has to get into Oxford…

We stayed recently at the guest house. The staff were welcoming and friendly, there is plenty of parking. The room was spotlessly clean with a comfortable bed. Breakfast was excellent.

Wi-fi didn't work and the sink was broken. The guy at the reception wasn't exactly friendly either. For the money I think there are definitely better places to stay.

Good value for money. Good service. Not 100% clean but for £35 can't ask for more.

Reasonable price? Over £ 100 per night. Showering so weak like pee. Drainage blocked. Kettle stained. TV signal unstable. Bed collapsed. Don't recommend it.

Close to city center and very helpful staff during our staying. Clean rooms and being at cross roads placed helped us commuting as we wanted to go around Cotswold. Has a car park as well which is a big plus.

Budget accommodation. No frills. Room clean. Hot shower. Free parking a bonus. Nice walk into town. Fine for a short stay.

Wasn’t the guest house. Was the rancid hovel next door so false advertising. Paid £75 to stay less than an hour. Dirty miss matched dated carpets. Tobacco stained walls & net curtains, dangerous ripped carpet on wonky staircase, vinyl flooring hanging out the en suite, a view of the car park with a pile of ripped out toilets & urinals, broken crockery, handed keys back & was informed no refund instead of apology. After taking professional advice we are by law entitled to a refund. I have emailed you & I suggest to answer it. I’d also like to know who entered the room when we went out for lunch & used our toilet when there were several toilets in the car park they could have used! What a dreadful place.

It's a cozy, warm and clean place, with a well-functioning shower. Daily towel change, parquet on the ground. You can reach High Street with a 10-minute walk or you can take the 3 right in front of the front door. Friendly staff. Convenient and affordable accommodation, given Oxford's standards.

Might be a good find for a budget traveller. My room was a spacious one with a king size bed; simple furniture and a primitive shower. Still, hot water was hot; towels clean and fluffy: what more could I want? The TV set was big enough for me to enjoy some film, before I fell into a night dream. And I slept well — the area was very quiet — no students yelling under your windows… A kettle in the room nice and clean — welcoming me in the morning with a fresh cuppa was just what my doctor ordered. Oh, yes, and there was a parking slot for my driver with his 8-seater: a luxury in Oxford.

Very good home port for a few days visit to Oxford. The breakfast on site makes it possible to avoid many worries.
The city centre is not even 5 minutes walk away and the rooms are comfortable.

Very simple and basic. Low cost, no frills. No soap in showers to save money.

Pros: Front Desk staff were always very pleasant and helpful, clean sheets, TV, "Tea and coffee in room", relatively clean room. Very Cheap. Cons: Everything else. The walls here are PAPER THIN. Honestly the sound dampening from the walls was 3/10, but from the DOOR, it was 0/10. I could literally hear every single word of every person from the lobby to the other floors and hallways. It was like they were in our room. We asked to switch rooms but were told all other spaces were booked. Also, take note, most of the guests staying here are younger and come back to their rooms around 2am screaming and yowling about their great night. Every night we had to tell other guests to please be respectful of the hour. I stayed here in December, it's cold out. Yet the heat seems to be set for some kind of crazy schedule. We actually weren't the only guests to complain because I could hear the other units complaining about the heat and going to the front desk to complain. (through the walls…) From what I could tell the heat was set to turn on around 5pm, then turn off at 10pm. That's right, 10pm. I would go to bed absolutely freezing, forget getting up to use the loo, no heat at night in December? Still frozen in the morning too because I'm assuming the heat doesn't come on even early hours.

Reasonable price. Rooms are cleaned everyday. Very friendly staff and breakfast is not bad. Don't have much to complain. There is free Wi-Fi but somehow every morning the Wi-Fi will be disabled and enabled again in the evening, which is hard because as a traveler I need access to Wi-Fi to plan the day during breakfast. Had to do all the planning the night before due to the Wi-Fi issue.

Good place for a couple of nights. Placed by good public transport. Walk to town if you have no mobilty problems is 20 mins but I have so used other means to go there. The receptionist was very helpful and would a map if asked. Hotel was student let in past life. Rooms ok but bathroom sink yuk.

Great place! Cozy and just 2 stops away from the town by bus (about 6 mins)! Friendly employees who welcomes you warmly. Definitely a great place to stay!

My stay from 6 to 10 September this year, was comfortable, convenient — the staff friendly and helpful. The accommodation was perfect for me. When I go back I again want room nr 6!

Stayed here for a night because it was near city centre with parking and not expensive. For the price room was better than expected — a good choice.

Bed and breakfast is offered but it's only cereals and toast. They do not offer cooked breakfast at all. In fact they do as little as possible for the money you pay. I expected more for my £95.00 one night stay.

Small room but good value for money. Parking, good continental breakfast included cereals. Short walk to central Oxford.

Reasonably priced, small but functional and clean rooms, typical continental breakfast. Good location. Don't expect a hotel, but typical bed-and-breakfast style accomodation.

To get to the centre of Oxford it takes 25 minutes to walk.

Very nice! Would stay here again for the price. I did find the bathroom constantly cold, and if you didn't leave the door open overnight it wouldn't dry out.

Good location, near the city center and Cowely road. Very clean rooms and good services.

Accommodating service (we arrived much earlier than anticipated and they let us check in and settle into the room). Soft beds, but water pressure in the shower isn't great. Decent breakfast (cereal, toast, yogurts; nothing fancy, but enough to get you going for the day). 15-20 min walk from Oxford center, which isn't terrible.

Gillingham does not offer any particular attractions, but is very close to Rochester and is a good base for touring North Kent. It is very close to the train station for London and Canterbury (about 1h). The structure is comfortable, clean and allows you to prepare meals (crockery and cookware are included). It's close to a supermarket and it's not hard to find street parking. Only the Wi-Fi is a little dancer. Overall a decent accommodation.

The room was clean, the service friendly and the city only a ten minutes walk away. But the room was very small, no wardrobe to put clothes, small bathroom, too. The whole thing would need a refresh. On-site parking is available which is good. But all in all we did not feel very comfortable.
