Have stayed here several times and never been disappointed. The rooms are superb and have Sky and a minibar. It is good to go for a wander around the grounds and see the wildlife in the area.

We stayed at channels lodge 'Oak' room the night of our wedding and it was lovely the room is really spacious the bathroom is huge and we had a great night sleep, not to mention the breakfast we got to have anything off the breakfast menu unlike most hotels and the food was really nice!
we will be back again!

Stayed here for 1 night but wish it was for longer! Rooms are luxurious and have everything you could ask for, great attention to detail and well thought out. Friendly and welcoming staff, everyone was so lovely and helpful. Food was delicious and lovely atmosphere. Would definitely recommend this place and we can’t wait to come and stay for longer next time as it’s just so relaxing. Thanks Channels Lodge x.

We went to a wedding here, if there were ten stars available then I would give it all ten. The staff were great and nothing was a problem.

Room was lovely and hotel staff were very friendly. Amneties are good, overall good value for money. Only downside was that there seemed to be a wasp's nest somewhere in our room as we woke up with quite a few in the room every morning (can't be helped in an old wooden building like that). Receptionist was very apologetic and knocked £20 off our food bill when he learned that I'd been stung by one. My only other criticism is that there isn't a huge choice for food in the restaurant, and I was given a different meal than was advertised on one occasion. But overall a lovely place.

Stayed at Channels for my Birthday kindly booked by my Wife. What a gem of a place. We had a fantastic afternoon at the Brassierie, the food is outstanding and every member of staff were friendly and happy. Our room was of the highest specification, you have to check out the remote controlled roof light blinds. Everywhere is spotlessly clean, the grounds are kept wonderfully. We had a very enjoyable Dinner, the waitress was very knowledgeable explaining certain dishes and giving her take on how they tasted. All in all an exceptional experience.

Lovely, spacious room. Good breakfast that catered for various dietary requirements. Very friendly and helpful staff. The only thing that bothered us were the very noisy people above us. Due to the age of the main house that we stayed in there was very little sound proofing! Would highly recommend a stay though.

Really loved visiting this venue for our friends wedding we stayed in the cottages for 1 night wish we could have stayed longer as it was so cosey, it had just been landscaped so if your looking for an outdoor summer wedding I would wait to let the new plants and trees get going in their outside wedding area, great venue great food really friendly efficient team of staff here couldn't recommend it more.

I stayed and channel lodge for 2 nights and wow an amazing experience. Lovely clean room cosy and all the staff were friendly helpful. I will certainly be staying here again.

Fantastic… arrived in the dark, literally… power failure … dealt with in amazing fashion… have already booked two more business trips with them. Keep it up! Top of my list.

Absolutely perfect! Stylish, clean & friendly, with the added advantage of a very fine dining restaurant next door.

Lovely suite — decent breakfast. Sadly, what let it down for me was that there was a definite air of 'locals come first' in the restaurant in the evening. After waiting and waiting at the counter for a number of people who appeared to be known to the waiting staff to come in after me and be served drinks whilst I stood waiting just to ask after my meal if I needed to sign a room doc. I gave it up as a bad job and went off to my room. A lovely setting and nice for a work related stop over.

I stayed at Channels the night before my wedding and the night of my wedding, the rooms are fab for bridal prep, so spacious and light. Everyone at Channels both the lodge and restaurant were very helpful and friendly. Every question was answered quickly and nothing was too much hassle on the lead up to the wedding or during the stay itself. Plus the grounds make beautiful backdrops to our photographs! Thank you for being such a big part of our wedding, I would highly recommend to anyone.

A hidden gem. A boutique hotel that made us feel special from the moment of arrival. We used the hotel to stop over and visit `Chelmsford racecourse. The room was fabulous.

Fantastic hotel, we stayed in the oak suite warm and cosy fantastic food as really friendly helpful staff, we celebrated our 14 year wedding Anniversary and loved this place definitely 100% will return highly recommend:) x.

Visited for a friend's wedding and also ended up staying the night in the Suite. Venue was amazing, staff helpful and food was nice and of a good quality. Suite was amazing, clean and comfortable & breakfast was delicious… Would like to go back to stay another time!

Best hotel in the country for me! Food amazing, staff amazing. Price very good! Golf course part of the complex as well. If you don't drive Park and ride 5 min walk away which takes you into town and even stops at the train station, if required. Definitely stop here, you will not be disappointed.

Room was spectacular, staff were exceptionally nice & food was hearty.

Everything was great apart from the unannounced window cleaner appearing at our window of the honeymoon oak suite when my wife was getting dressed.

A beautiful clean and very spacious room! A bed that provided a wonderful nights sleep (in fact in over slept! ). The bathroom was big enough for a shindig and the walk in rainfall shower provided more than just a means of cleansing after a busy work day! Sky TV, Wi-Fi, private air conditioning, mini bar, and more. I will be coming back to Channels!
