Woodland Views Hotel

My husband and I had never visited the area before and were delighted to discover this excellent B&B accommodation. If you want peace and quiet with quality facilities this is the place. We had our own private patio that looked out over a large garden and woodland. The breakfast was first class and the hostess, Aliya, was so accommodating and friendly and made us feel so at home. We will certainly visit again.

A driveway led to a well presented, recently refurbished detached bungalow set within a nice woodland plot. My wife, four and a half year old son and I were greeted very warmly by Mrs Payne, or Aliya as she preferred to be called and then by her husband John who we met a little later, who was equally welcoming. There were two rooms, both of a generous double room standard; both en-suite. We stayed in the larger one. It had a king sized bed, which my wife and I used and two good quality sofa beds, one which we used for our son to sleep on. The room was tastefully furnished with quality fittings giving a luxurious feel and importantly for me and my family, very good value for money. There were French doors, which led onto a privately decked balcony with a nice place to sit and relax. There was a partition with a gate separating our balcony section from the shared garden area in case we wanted a little privacy. I thought this was a nice touch. We were also able to open the gate and gain access to the communal garden area. This was wonderful as it allowed my son to stretch his legs and play while we sat and unwound with a glass of wine overlooking the wooded garden. The pub in Milton Abbas was just a short walk away and a nice place to grab a bite to eat. It would however be worth checking eating times to make sure they fit into your schedule. The local village was incredibly quaint, with a lovely little church and a good place go for a pleasant walk.
