Beautiful house with lovely decor and vibe; standout hosts who were so welcoming and friendly; sublime bed and characterful, comfortable bedroom; fantastic breakfast (especially the homemade granola). Wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again!

From the point of booking onwards, we were made to feel really welcome by Jas and Lyn. Their attention to detail is faultless, from advice on the area, its bars, restaurants, sights, and walks, to the practicalities of arrival and checking in. We had a warm, unhurried welcome, and were able to relax with a coffee and home made muffins on arrival. We had a very comfortable night in a small but perfectly laid out room, and a cheery breakfast the following morning. They are a credit to Lyme's hospitality business and others could learn much from their conscientiousness and customer care. Would recommend unreservedly.

This is a lovely house well situated in Lyme Regis. The Hosts are super friendly and very helpful. There is a lounge area and honesty bar. Best of all is breakfast; which is most delicious and you will be treated to some wonderful homecooked delights. Highly recommended.

From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed and treated more as visiting friends than guests, with hot drinks and a freshly toasted hot cross bun swiftly arriving to where we sat in the comfortable yet stylish lounge. The décor throughout spoke to our hosts' understated tastes and their commitment to supporting local artists, and a sense of the ethical and sustainable pervaded every aspect of our stay, to their great credit.
Our room was well provisioned, with a glorious hot shower and excellent toiletries, along with what might be the best bed we've ever slept in. Breakfast was a highlight of each day, the quality of ingredients apparent and the cooking faultless, and the setting just delightful. The welcome pack contained plenty of advice and suggestions for what to do and where to eat; it's clear that Lyn and Jas love Lyme Regis and are fully invested in the community, and it was a treat to see such a lovely town through their eyes.
Thanks to the friendliness and unerring hospitality of Lyn and Jas, we experienced what would have been a home away from home, if our home were actually as nice!

Great breakfast and room. The room we had was well appointed and very comfortable, with a separate lounge area. First class en-suite facilities. The breakfast was excellent, all products locally sourced. Added treat of beetroot and ginger shot, and marmalade gelato ‘starters’.
No parking on site, but directions to limited free and pay parking given.
Great local pub over the road with live music.

Great care taken over the little details by the lovely owners Lyn & Jason. Nothing is too much trouble. Breakfast is way up on the top of our best ever list, especially today’s amuse-bouche of toast and marmalade gelato.

Breakfast with rooms as a tag line is true. Breakfast was highlight of the day. Stylish, healthy options, tasty, if weather good eat outside on veranda.
Lighthouse Suite was stylish and huge comfy bed. Amazing sunrise views.
Jason and Lyn friendly hosts, knowledgeable about area and restaurants. We felt we had made a good friend after a week. Will we return? Definitely.

Just on our way back from our stay at Dorset House, a very spontaneous Saturday morning decision to visit Lyme Regis and booked Dorset House and what a treat it was! Absolutely loved the hosts and all the small touches really made the stay amazing — breakfasts were lush wish I could have that every day! We also loved the honesty bar and enjoyed sitting in the lounge for some gorgeous Sharphams wine :) we will definitely be back thank you x.

Jason & Lyn are wonderful hosts, the food is just amazing and gorgeous rooms.

Just returned from a wellness break, which included lots of yoga, walking, healthy eating and a few cookery demonstrations. Absolutely great 3 days, would thoroughly recommend. Lyn and Jason are marvellous hosts. Yoga, Cookery Demo and fermentation workshop were eye openers. The rooms are lovely, food fabulous and the 4 other ladies on the break were amazing too. Hope to return next year at some point.

Truly exceptional accommodation with a breakfast which can only be described as sublime! The beautiful room was perfectly equipped with local high quality products, a sea view which can't be beaten and very attentive hosts. Very deserving of it's awards.

Hard to add anything more to the numerous glowing reports for this delightful sanctuary. Everything about Dorset House is well thought through — from the décor of the ‘public’ rooms to the individuality of the bedrooms — and how they get such strong water pressure for the showers is an unbelievable feat of engineering! Lovely touch to have fresh milk for your morning cuppa instead of the usual tetra pack. You do have to be up for ‘embracing the spirit of communal dining’ at breakfast which can be a tad daunting. However, it’s great once you get under starters orders and Jas is particularly good at ‘orchestrating’ the process if you hit a sticky patch! The daily amuse-bouche is not only a healthy and fun initiative — it’s a great ice breaker. All we need to do now is come up with an English equivalent term for ‘mouth amuser’. The choice of goodies for breakfast is delicious, imaginative and locally sourced. What is there not to like – absolutely nothing.

Extremely comfortable, welcoming b&b. Nothing was too much trouble. We stayed in church view which although smallish, was absolutely spotless and had everything we needed. The bed linen felt so nice that I am now looking to replace ours at home. Breakfast was such a culinary feast that it was difficult not to over indulge. I will definitely be attempting to make the granola as per recipe.

Kind, friendly and incredibly welcoming owners. Beautiful building — very well decorated and looked after. Excellent breakfasts.

We love treating ourselves to a 5* experience especially for 'down-time' days; Team DH are superb at being able to deliver such an experience. The boutique hotel is beautiful, our room was chic and it was a treat to wake up seeing the sea glistening in the early morning sunshine. Breakfasts are tdf at DH, they are crafted to perfection, served hot with panache. A brilliant way to start the day.

It doesn't get much better than this. The owners are friendly, the place is clean & well kept. The food is really nice. American guests should check to bed arrangement when reserving (English 'King' is smaller than a US Queen).

What a wonderful place to stay, everything has been perfect, down to the little details, like the beautifully thought out welcome treats in the room, you can tell a lot of time and love has gone into creating such a warm homely feel. The owners went out of there way to accommodate us, nothing was too much trouble. Amazingly renovated building too. I just absolutely loved everything about this place. Can't speak highly enough of it. Thanks for making us feel so welcome.

Beautiful place. Elegant and relaxing rooms. Breakfasts delicious. Stayed 3 nights January 2015. Went out of their way to ensure we were comfortable. We had our 3 yr old Grand son and our daughter with us too. Will stay again when we return to the UK.

I would like to say a big thank you to the Martin Family at the Dorset House B&B in Lyme Regis. My wife and I travel frequently to Lyme Regis and decided that on our next trip we would treat ourselves to a Luxury boutique B&B in Lyme Regis. We was over whelmed by the high end quality of the rooms in the Dorset House B&B. The rooms had underfloor heating in the en-suite. Fluffy towels, black out blinds the list goes on. We have already booked to stay early next year and will be making this the only B&B in Lyme Regis that we stay in. Once again many thanks from David and Claire.

This place just makes u feel so welcome that it will leave me wanting more. The hosts are warm and welcoming. The breakfasts are the best I've ever had. If you are vegetarian just let them know, you won't regret it. Don't miss the home made granola, or their poached eggs, just to mention some goodies. PS if its Autumn just hope they have their autumn compote! So for all this and their welcome factor a 5 star without a doubt. Thank you Lynn and Jason you made our stay in Lyme Regis just that little bit more special.

Our hosts (Lyn and Jason) were excellent — extremely helpful with dining and sightseeing recommendations, happy to modify breakfast times to suit our schedule, and just generally keen to make our visit as easy and enjoyable as possible. The rooms were great — plenty of space and a very modern bathroom, and an additional lounge / dining area available downstairs for us to use. The breakfast was also a stand out — great juice and coffee, fruit, homemade cake, homemade granola, homemade bread, and then a huge selection of hot food available to order. I'd recommend Dorset House to anyone looking for a place to stay in Lyme Regis. Stayed January 2015, travelled as a couple.

Amazing experience every time… Visited twice now in a year and never disappointed. The location is just a few minutes walk to the town, Beautiful bedding for a sumptuous experience. Homemade breakfast with freshly baked bread, home made granola as well as coffee on the veranda… Cracking fun at Lyme plenty to do, the owners local knowledge can be counted upon for places to visit, and the local restaurants. We will be back ;-) x.

Above and beyond. A fantastic reception from the hosts Jase and Lyn. Gorgeous views of Lyme Regis with a beautifully decorated interior. The en suite bathroom is functional simplicity with luxurious toiletries. Finally a five star breakfast menu executed flawlessly. All around just perfect, highly recommended.
