Just returned from a couple of nights at the Highbullen and I had the most relaxing stay, the staff at your hotel are a credit to you, very happy, friendly and attentive and I felt they would try and provide any requests possible, please thank your reception staff for making us feel so welcome.

Beautiful hotel surrounded by fantastic views, good food and really attentive staff.

Got married 9/10/21 everything about the day was perfect, the whole venue was beautiful, the wedding co — ordinator jaynie and the waiters and waitresses were exceptional, nothing was too much trouble, food was outstanding and plentiful. Thank you.

Just returned from a superb 5 day break at the Highbullen Hotel. As always, we have bee thoroughly looked after by the marvellous staff, all of whom are friendly, professional and welcoming. Such a beautiful spot to spend a few days in the Devon countryside relaxing and enjoying the peace and quiet. Thank you Highbullen x.

This hotel is top quality. The room was great with stylish furniture, the food was delicious and the views across the Devon hills were breathtaking! Highly recommended!

First impressions were very good. — Staff friendly and helpful. — Hotel is warm and inviting. — The evening food was very good in the restaurant and very good service. — Breakfast "The Full Devonshire" is quite small (1 slice of bacon, 1 sausage and half a mushroom… yes, half! ), best to order a custom breakfast. Slight delay in the mornings, breakfast supposed to start at 7am but more like 7.15am, which isn't good having to wait if you have to be at an appointment at a certain time. — Small and cozy bar, has the essentials but limited spirits selection, only standard. Could do with expanding on this. There is a pool table and also billiards table which is great. — Room was cozy but slightly tired. The mattress was worn ('bananad' in the middle) and after housekeeping turned it was still not great. Random stains, damaged paint etc. Water pressure in the shower was not good. This was obvious as they had installed a "Ionic Shower head" which is designed to increase pressure but mearly creates a mist (rather then jets of water as it did in my colleagues room on the floor below. ) Installation of a water pump in the hotel to solve this issue would be the better option. — The gym and pool/spa area was great and staff very helpful. — Outdoor pool area also which would be good in summer. When checking out we were given a little bag with 2 bottles of water and some sweets which I though was very nice.

Tried to book this hotel via a Travel Zoo offer and it is a nightmare just to get it booked. The phone rings forever and then eventually you can hear it goes through to another department who then put you back on hold to transfer you back to reception. When I did get through and book a room, I asked to speak to the Spa, again on hold and no answer from the Spa. I ring reception and explain to them and they say I need to keep trying the Spa — useless surely the client should be able to speak to one person and book everything! So I try to ring the Spa multiple times — finally I get through and they are fully booked on the day that I wanted and the Spa was really the whole point of the trip. Now I have the horror of trying to ring reception again to cancel. Eventually, get through and get asked to ring back in an hour because they are really busy! What awful customer service!

Just returned from a wonderful stay at highbullen fantastic room, with amazing views. I thought it was a shame as the views were so good and the weather so hot there wasn’t more seating for taking a glass of wine outside to admire the view The restaurant was superb if I lived closer it would be a favourite the one downfall which could be so easily rectified was flies there were a lot in the room and the dining room, so when you went down for breakfast the pastries, ham, butter had all be pitched on before being eaten ugk solution at end of evening meal, close windows doors and spray this would soon rectify the same for bedroom when rooms vacated pop in quick with fly spray. Sorted Also on a lesser point towels not changed once in three day stay had to ask for coffee sachets and no shampoo These are little niggles easily rectified I feel there was no housekeeper on site and nobody thought it was there job But that said I would stay there again.

Great venue in deepest Devon. A fine golf course and all the services top class. I can't wait to come back!

Just had my friends wedding at high bullen and dinner the night before and breaky the following morning. OMG what an amazing venue. The grounds the views the location the food and staff were brilliant. We had a fantastic day with Glenn and Sharon. Thank you.

Excellent every level rooms bar food scenery staff especially two lovely breakfast waitresses thanks would go again highly recomend and great if u play golf I dont ha.

Stayed the one night having enjoyed a superb cream tea overlooking the golf course. When I made the booking I made the mistake of asking for a quiet room if possible? It was certainly that, being in a building about 1/4 mile down a steep hill!. Large newly decorated room with large patio doors and only let down by the mediocre shower/bathroom. Would have been nice to have been advised of location when booking.

Me and wife had our wedding here and can say all the staff were exceptional. Fantastic food, brilliant service and exceptional atmosphere. We'd highly recommend. The veies arent bad either ;)

Beautiful landscapes, a good quality gym/pool facilities. Had a great time here.

We recently had an afternoon tea here with access to the spa facilities. Had a great time. Left feeling relaxed and very well fed! I'd love to come back and play the golf course though. Thank you.

An early valentines date and there was no better place to enjoy the occasion. We stayed in The Loft, an absolutely beautiful suite, a place to relax and enjoy. Our meal was top class, I had venison which for me was cooked to perfection. The staff are welcoming and friendly, without any hint of pretentiousness, which ensured our ability to rest and relax. We will definitely return, thank you.

Attended for an Auction, Drinks were high in price but having no other options meant people were paying. Tea and a Sandwich £5 … Room was well presented but we were in but signage and direction to customers of where to go wasn't great. I would go there again for a professional event like this auction but I'd not recommend it.

Just back from the highbullen brilliant place to go with family, staff where outstanding food was amazing very friendly people, rooms where gorgeous will be back soon, only disappointment was some of the rudeness of guest demanding this and that at breakfast time, you've got arms and legs get it your self.

Just back from a really relaxing stay at the Highbullen. Food was great, room was lovely, surroundings stunning and staff are super friendly. Well recommended however on my next visit I will be taking my golf clubs.

Really picturesque hotel and setting with lovely rooms and restaurant. Unfortunately the service was extremely slow. With the restaurant only about 40% full it took half an hour for our breakfast order to be taken it then took another 35mins before they brought our food out. When they did bring the food out it was completely wrong. We asked for a full English with no tomatoes and black pudding. The first food they brought was scrambled eggs on toast, then they brought out a full English with black pudding and no mushroom, then on the third attempt they got it right. Was such a shame for otherwise a great place. Also there were plenty of staff so that's not an excuse.

The hotel is set in beautiful surroundings. The quality of service and food/drink was first class. Do expect to pay highly for this though. My only criticism was an uncomfortable bed which had a mattress long overdue to be replaced. I attended for a wedding and would thoroughly recommend the venue for this type of big social function.

We recently stayed at this hotel for the first time. We were most impressed with the hotel, it had recently been refurbished and the bedrooms were gorgeous. The staff are lovely and friendly and nothing is too much trouble. The food was delicious with lots of choice and it's nice to have the informal dining of the cellar bar if you fancy a more relaxed atmosphere and it is particularly suitable for children. The formal dining room has the most amazing views and a great menu. If you like walking this is the place to be, reception will even print off various walks for you depending on how much time you have. You can walk to the local pub, the Exeter Inn who also serve great food if you fancy something different one night. The hotel has something for everyone, including golf and leisure facilities which we all took advantage off. We will be back!

Had a lovely weekend stay, food wonderful and rooms very nice, unfortunately found housekeeping not good, we had to wait for over hour and half to get into room after 3 o. Clock, after a long journey not acceptable also had problems with final bill which sorted in the end but should not have happened. Great amenities and pool really lovely. Would stay here again but please sort out house keeping and admin. One other comment, maintenance of bathrooms a bit lacking, our shower head was blocked so water sprayed everywhere, the was a gap under shower screen so water covered floor outside of bath and toilet flush lever very loose. Need to sort these issues please.

Currently staying at Highbullen. The refurbishment carried out last year is magnificent and has resulted in me staying here regularly on business. I would recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing stay in a wonderful part of Devon.

Good facilities but it feels a bit tired. Food was a real disappointment.
