We were looking for a reasonably priced place to stay for our long weekend in Torquay. The Exton stood out because of its excellent reviews, and it really lived up to expectations! John and Julie gave us plenty of information on arrival and were excellent hosts. Breakfasts were very good. It's a comfortable walk into town, and you can take the bus to other parts of Torbay within a few minutes' walk of the Exton. Highly recommended!

John and Julie are lovely hosts. Aways welcoming, and always happy to help you. Breakfast is plentiful, lots of choice. Rooms are always clean, nicely decorated, tea & coffee in room. You can walk into torquay in about 20 minutes, along the seafront.
They have all covid regulations in place, and felt very safe, during our stay there. We are regular visitors, and would highly recommend it.

Julie and John are warm and welcoming, like staying with family.
I Took my mum on a birthday trip to Torquay in August and we had a great two night stay in purple room, was perfect for us but maybe en-suite bathroom would be a bit of a squeeze for a big beefy fellow 😂
They do have larger rooms if you need more space.
Tea facilities and TV with all channels in room.
Fantastic Big breakfast, cooked to your requirements, veg options available.
About a 10/15 minute walk down hill to the sandy beach and twenty mins walk a bit further along to the marina and all shops and restaurants.
I recommend ‘The hole in the wall’ for pub grub and an old fashioned atmosphere (the oldest inn in Torquay)
Local Cabs from town centre to Exton house hotel cost £5 if you don’t fancy the walks.
Took open top bus £2.50 to babbacombe beach Which took 20 mins and was well worth it for a change of beach and to view a beautiful Big Seal happily swimming near where I was swimming!

Would’ve loved to do a ferry ride and some of the tours / dolphin cruises but the sea was too choppy on that particular day sadly.

Excellent hosts in Exton House and breakfast quality and service is excellent for sure. A lovely welcome when we were greeted with a cup of tea and orange Juice. Everything was explained and breakfast times were arranged. The guest house is very very clean and plenty of tea coffee in your room and all you have to do is ask and they very quickly replace missing or used items for you. They make you feel at ease and you may get introduced to the local resident gecko safely housed away! I really enjoyed my time here and the breakfast quality. They have an on site bar but my only quibble was that I did think that the pricing was steep for what it was. We did enjoy the bar experience where we were joined by the hosts and had a good conversation. I would happily recommend the Exton House. It is a good 15 minute walk at pace to the centre of Torquay and the walk is lovely ong roads through abbey grounds along the sea front past the theatre and harbour. Excellent.

What a wonderful place to stay! Perfect hosts. Spotless clean, lovely breakfast, comfy bed, looking forward to staying again.

Excellent B&B pristinely clean lovely room and breakfast really nice lots of choice.

Me and my husband arrived on Friday for our Wedding Anniversary weekend and what a gem of a place. John and Julie are lovely people making us so welcome. Rooms are perfect and comfortable. Breakfast really tasty. So nice when coming back for a night cap at the end of a day out around the area. Really nice sat with a drink in their bar having a chat with them and other people staying. We have loved it so much that we have booked to bring my father up for his birthday in September.

Friendly helpful hosts, went the extra mile, spotless rooms. Good breakfast. Good quality.

What a lovely place to stay the owners are very welcoming and friendly, Exton house is spotlessly clean and the beds are very comfortable with plenty of pillows. The rooms have a vast choice of teas and coffee to choose from which is a nice touch by the owners. The breakfast was excellent everything was cooked to perfection. I would highly recommend Exton house to anyone visiting the area truly a lovely place to stay.

Ok place but owners are to full on and the decor needs toning down.

On arrival had a lovely welcome from John and Julie, rooms where great with coffee and tea facilities and hairdryer. Breakfast was more than plentiful, grapefruit, yoghurt cold meats and a great British full English. Will stay there next time we go to Torquay.

Stayed 2 nights and it was superb very clean rooms. Breakfast was lovely and the hosts were fantastic I would recommend this hotel anytime.

The friendliest most welcoming guest house I have ever stayed in. Clean warm with really good food cooked to order as you like it cooked. It's impossible to praise this place too much. I have stayed in many such establishments but this is simply THE BEST.

Lovely, friendly, welcoming, attentive, hosts. Gave lots of information about surrounding areas and things to do. Room was clean and warm. Breakfast was lovely with a variety of different foods on offer. 10 minute walk to the harbour… though taxi service readily available and costing under a fiver. Definitely book to stay here again.
