We had an amazing time at the Passage House Hotel, it was perfect for our families. The staff were so attentive and made us feel very at home. Matt the restaurant manager is made for his role. He was awesome and made our daughter's birthday so special — above and beyond!

My partner and I literally had the best mini break here in October.
All staff were welcoming and attentive. Food was amazing and for the first time in a while I didn't feel anxious or worried about covid.
The hotel was well prepared and had excellent policies and procedures to keep us safe and that's exactly how we felt and for the first time in what felt like forever, we were able to really relax, so much so we added another night to our break.
How can I forget to mention the breathtaking views. Day or night, sunshine or rain, not one you could ever get tired of.
We can not wait to get back here.

We had a lovely afternoon tea today at the hotel, which was delicious and offered generous portions. We felt very covid secure while at the hotel with the cutlery even coming in sealed sanitised packages. The staff were very welcoming and attentive and the views were lovely along the river thank you.

Nice atmosphere pleasant staff only stayed for a drink today.

We had our works Christmas Party here Friday. To start with the positives — the staff who welcomed us and showed us to the function rooms were really nice and efficient. The food was surprisingly good! The starter and main were very nice, desert wasn’t great but 2 out of three isn’t bad! Downsides. The venue is so tired and dated, the DJ was actually terrible. The music was pure cheese all night. The most disappointing thing was the price and quality of the drinks. The wine was just horrible and £23 a bottle. £9.70 for a large G&T. And there was nothing special about it. A pint was around £5.50. The wine was just so bad we didn’t have much options but to not drink, on our works Xmas bash! I wouldn’t recommend this as a venue. 30 of us paid £30 per head for a really lack lustre evening. I think you can get better. Sorry Passage House.

1st time visiting, absolutely amazing place, friendly staff nothing too much trouble, very attentive and thoughtful. Lovley spacious layout and food was amazing. More than generous portions. I would highly recommend going to anyone.

I love this Hotel one of the best I have ever been too, even though the bathroom can be improved the rest of the hotel is amazing especially the friendly staff like Indya who has helped to cover all needs to their best abilities.

In a great setting. Only thing a bit strange was when asking for a bacon sandwich for breakfast, I was told by waitress (not their fault) that chef said they could not do it? but they could provide the bacon on a plate the bread and butter.

Went and enjoyed a lovely afternoon tea today it was generous and great value for money would definitely recommend.

Had a lovely visit here today with my young daughter for a cream tea. The staff were very friendly and helpful especially when my daughter spilt her juice everywhere. They even went the extra mile to get her dress dry so she had clothes to wear. A lovely little gem hidden away with beautiful views. Would definitely recommend and hope to come back soon x.

Went for valentine's. Lovely meal with prosecco and single rose a nice touch. Amazing staff, they found a bracelet I lost. Stayed the night. Spacious room, good amenities. Fab breakfast, well cooked and nice outlook over the estuary. Recommend.

Very lovely accommodation. We stayed in the apartments, which were very spacious and had stunning views across the estuary. Only down was that the lift was not working and we had a dog and disabled person on the second floor and found it difficult to get up the stairs.

We visited the area on an adventure. We booked well in advance and were all pretty excited. We arrived nice and early and settled quickly into our roomWe were able to connect to Wi-Fi easily and quickly. Was very wen in our room. Staff offered a cooling system to help cool down and also offered to keep any drinks or food we had chilled in their fridge. Which of course we took them up on the offer. Found the bar and restaurant a little. Pricey so found alternative places for food.

Dated but clean hotel. Leisure facilities adequate however, could be improved through ensuring all equipment in working order. Very good quality food. Service from restaurant staff excellent. Good location for exploring South Devon.

We were shown to our table but our order wasn't taken for ages.
They were very very busy with the resturant very full.
So perhaps this was due to the heavy rain everyone must have decided to eat there.
After main course we again waited 40 mins to order desert, in the end went to find them to order.
At the end of the meal we had to wait for 10 to 15 minutes to pay at the bar as no one there.
The meal was ok and not a bad price this was our 3rd visit but it all took far too long.
In previous visits we didn't have these waits.

Had a great 2 night stay at the Passage House Hotel for my Birthday followed by a day at Newton Abbott races. The hotel was lovely, room was huge we paid extra for the estuary view, breakfast and dinner in the restaurant excellent. Nice pub attached if you'd like it a bit busier but also bar in hotel great with Jack behind the bar who has a great knowledge of gins! Overall I would definitely recommend and would return again.

Pleasant staff. Clean room and en suite upstairs in the South Lodge. Plenty of parking space. Good bed. Nice breakfast. Would have been nice to have a view of the estuary but the trees got in the way.

Beautiful position, and very friendly and helpful staff. Despite the problems when the hotel freezers went down, we were well accommodated for evening meals at the adjacent pub, part of the hotel. Excellent pub food with good variety of dishes, all god value. Good centre for walking and local visiting of this part of East Devon.

A very nice hotel in a splendid situation. Staff friendly and helpful. Very comfortable beds. If there is a negative it would be that the food was not quite up to the otherwise high standard of the hotel… especially the continental breakfast which was lacking bread rolls, croissants, cheese or ham etc which are, to my mind, essential items of a continental breakfast.

Food good, lovely location, staff friendly and helpful. Some checks when cleaning rooms to check that all the lights work would be useful. The early morning vacuum cleaning of the main corridor was unnecessarily early. However we had an enjoyable stay.

A very comfortable well staffed hotel. Staff very very helpful and good food is served. During my last stay had to stay an extra 2 days due to bad weather. I was accommodated with no bother A nice all round hotel.

Can't fault this place really. The service was fantastic although a little slow. Waited a fair while between courses. I was very impressed when our party had finished our dinners, 5 waiters cleared the table in a split second like something out of a movie. The food is superb.

Bit dated, beds are big and comfortable in the double rooms. Internet looses signal quite a bit in specific rooms (but so does 90% of hotel in Torquay/Newton Abbot). Breakfast is really good rooms are very clean nice bath and good shower gym is quite small, so is pool but doesn't tend to get busy, staff very polite and helpful wouldn't recommend for social groups good for business travelers.

Beautiful location. Shame all accommodation not under same roof… rooms pleasant. We had our evening meals in the attached Passage House Inn not on hotel. As menu was more varied and surroundings we cosier. A very popular venue with business people. … would go again. … handy for lots of tourism in Devon.

We stayed here because our friends were staying on a Groupon deal but we missed the deal and so booked direct with the hotel, but we did not pay very much more than them. We were very pleased with the whole experience and the breakfasts were very good. We did not eat in the hotel because the evening meals were a bit pricy for us, but the coffee and cake was good. Our room was in the main building overlooking the front of the hotel and although a basic room it was was very nice and comfortable. If we come again in the summer we will pay the supplement for a room at the back with a balcony overlooking the estuary. We would recommend this hotel and will certainly use it again.

Great hotel we use best western all the time this one was one of their best.
Lovely and clean and Dave the barman/breakfast waiter a legend he was marvellous very friendly and nothing too much trouble.
All staff were smiling and it felt a very happy place to be. My daughter and I used the on site beauty therapy service absolutely brilliant. One of the best facials I have ever had.
Its not the most beautiful of looking hotels on the outside but never judge a book by its cover. The views are stunning of the estuary and the hotel is very lovely inside. Definitely returning.

Nice hotel overlooking the RiverTeign from the Kingsteignton side. Went for Christmas Day lunch — very popular. Function room for weddings etc. They also have lodges for holidays. There is also a pub on site.

Great place great people who work there they truly bend over backwards to help you. Wouldn't wish for a better hotel to stay and spend time there and they have a great Dj too always willing to listen to requests and make your nights great.

Nice room, staff were relatively friendly, although when complained about the dustbins being emptied at half five in the morning the person at the reception didn't even feign an interest. Nice walk into Newton Abbot and a nice pub on the site make it worth a stay of you're looking for a relaxing stay. Just not on a Tuesday morning.

The staff was welcoming and helpful. We had dinner there one night and were positively surprised by the quality of the food. The room was clean and spacious. The health club let me down a little. The pool was smaller than expected and the sauna & steam rooms for women and men were separate, so not ideal if you are hoping to spend quality time with your other half. The hotel is located nicely, as it is quiet and peaceful, yet close enough to local amenities if required.

Main building is great, 1st room in outer building was damp with window and door open to try and air it. No problems being moved so just glad there was space to. Amazing views of estuary with breakfast and great food. Really nice pub with cheaper food not even 1min walk away. Really enjoyable stay so far, the pool is nice and old style sauna with water to add to the coals is an added bonus.

Location was mildly disappointing, less room to explore as I first thought. The stay was pleasant overall but a few things not up to scratch. Mattresses where cheap and had springs poking out. Double room had two singles pushed together and with cheap mattresses forget about meeting your parter in the middle. Spa was OK but disappointed no unisex sauna or steam room, also charged guests for towels at spa… I could have ordered 100 to the room for free… Food and drink was great, breakfast slow to serve due to a server being injured and they rallied together to ensure the service went on.

The hotel is located at the end of a narrow road away from the town. The rooms seemed reasonably sized for the price. We were in the north block which didn't have the greatest views. During our stay there was a wedding hosted in the hotel which got a bit loud through the night. Breakfast was included in our rate and was served in the main hotel with a choice of hot dishes to order or a cold continental buffet.

Had a lovely evening. Stayed in one of the other buildings. I felt very welcome. The surroundings area is really pretty and the views were lovely. The pool was very nice, views of the estuary while I swam were lush, my only criticism is the health club area needs modernisation. Breakfast was basic but really good. Comparable with the premier inn just up the road, I would definitely go with this Best western!

Brilliant time after time. Fantastic wedding venue. The hotel food is excellent, the staff are attentive and Dani is a credit to the company. Cannot recommend The Passage House enough. Whether your booking a wedding or wanting a bit of lunch with an amazing view, come here.

Secluded location, in many areas, in need of renovation. Room aner properly.

Clean and comfortable rooms, friendly reception, breakfast was a let down. Waitress not attentive, had to ask to be served even though not busy, not enough coffee and finally there was not enough food. Shame really as I had already paid for Continental and so my choice was limited.

Dreadful. Would never take a coach party there if I had a choice treated like 3rd class citizens and constantly reminded of the hotels attitude. Rooms are in separate blocks with no covered walkways to the hotel for meals which are anyway meagre. Rooms are quite nice and clean though.

Very nice Hotel with great rooms. Only the bathtub for a shower is impractical and sets the whole bathroom under water. The dinner was very good, the Breakfast I must not have. Anyone who has complained so far, in the case of full English Breakfast, you should run the here. Bread pad is equal to Zero, except for jam.

Few drinks and light snacks. Staff were exceptional. Medium value for money. Food was excellent.

Great views over the estuary, was a bit concerned we would have trouble finding it but it was well signposted. Food great although vegetarian options bland and limited. Breakfasts were good and the staff went the extra mile to make sure any special requests were met. Cleanliness good but decor was a tad dated in places. Will definitely return if only for the views.

In the course of a group trip we were on 6/7.9. A guest in your house. The dinner had a "we see quality never again". The room "for a night is bearable". The Breakfast is a disaster. The waiter brought out on request, fried egg with bacon. A woman struggled with a Toaster for about 100 guests, to brown bread. Again and again she was intercepted by Trend Tours-guests. Our timetable, dungeons, we after about an hour hungry the room.

Great, dog friendly pub and hotel. The views of the river are great. Really nice staff, and a good selection of vegetarian options on the menu. Well worth a visit.

Quiet and out of the way and yet close to a dual carriageway and local amenities. The staff are highly trained and experienced offering incredible customer service.

Attended for a professional study day. Easy venue to get to, plenty of parking and comfortable inside. Good conference facilities in general.

Very clean, Staff friendly and helpful, food excellent, pool a little cold, really warm hotel.

The rooms were clean. We had a front room that was very noisy as it overloked the car park. Both nights a lorry made a delivery about 4am it left its engine running for ages. Breakfast was good the three waitresses were lovely, one was called Charlotte. I had steak one night and it was like old boots I told the waiter who's comment was "It is like that sometimes" no apology! When I paid the bill they deducted £5 for the awful steak. So they thought the chips, tomato amd mushrooms were worth £15.00. No managers around.

Although you get reasonable good value for your money, I cannot say I was satisfied with my experience. Surely, the hotel is situated in a wonderful location and parking is not a concern; however, for a poor overseas visitor, it was not easy to find the place, also because, for some unknown reason, the hotel does not indicate the exact address on its Internet site, nor when issues the booking confirmation. The room I was in had visible worn out furniture, neither the Internet connection, nor the TV remote was working. However, the quality of food was very good. I would not recommend it for business travel.
