We have thoroughly enjoyed both the Sunday Lunch and Taster menu’s. Merricks dishes are creative and awesome — they all look delightful and certainly taste delicious. The staff are so welcoming, attentive, and professional, and the ambience is perfect.

We had a Beautiful Sunday lunch today. The beef was amazing followed by a delicious bread and butter pudding. Thoroughly recommend a visit.

Our second visit this week!
We went to the Culbone Stables Inn this lunchtime for a roast. We have had lots of great roasts/carvery’s since moving to Exmoor but so far haven’t found that ‘perfect’ Roast potato,,, until today!
“Abi’s amazing roasties” were exactly that! Fluffy on the inside and crispy on the outside, perfect!
Stunning roast dinner and Fiona’s chocolate brownies were divine!

Being local people it's great that the Culbone is open again. Had like lovely birthday meal, food excellent, very warm friendly welcome from management and staff. Excellent value for money. Will be regulars, and definitely be there for the opening day on 1st July.

We live locally and have not been to the Culbone for a few years. Now under new management, what a difference. Alex and Annette deserve to do really well. Excellent food, surroundings and lovely people. Thank you for making my fathers birthday special and coping with all of us so efficiently.

Had a great lunch in the sun with fab views and friendly service and great food. Had the tiger prawns, scallops, shrimps and burger — all very tasty. Can highly recommend.

Thoroughly enjoyed our birthday meal for my son last night, beautiful views, friendly and helpful staff, and wonderful food.
My 'blue' steak was perfect and the homemade cheesecake lovely.
So pleased to see The Culbone has dog friendly rooms too.
But I forgot to ask how many dogs we could bring, I have 3, 1 medium, 1 small and 1 tiny, would that be acceptable?

Comfy room, lovely food and lovely walks from the door. Staff all friendly and great with dogs. Would definitely recommend and stay again.

Lovely break — friendly, welcoming environment and lovely food!

We have eaten here three times in the last 9 months and have never been disappointed. All ages are welcome and that includes dogs which was important to us. The surrounding views and coutryside are the best in England in my opinion. The Culbone sits high up on Exmoor at 400 metres and there is a lovely scenic walk to Robbers Bridge starting from the car park, which takes about an hour. The food is very good and much of it from the Exmoor area. Expect to pay about £25 per head for two courses and a drink, which isn't cheap but reperesents good value for the quality of food and cooking.
