I cannot recommend this pub/restaurant enough. We visited yesterday for a birthday meal, as I last came here as a child back in 1993! (Aged 12) I wanted to go back to some of my happy memories as I have now turned 40. We entered into the bar area and was greeted by Jenny, who was friendly and happy, there were two chefs also by the bar, who also greeted us. We ordered our drinks from a huge selection at the bar, and asked to go in to sit at our table. We went through and our table had been decorated for me, with balloons and 40 banners and table confetti. (Clearly my husband called ahead) but Jenny made a huge effort to accommodate his request for me. We were then greeted by Jacob our host, who took our order. He was a true delight! So friendly, helpful, and fun. He actually looked like he really enjoyed his job, and this came across in his amazing customer service. We ordered chilli bean nachos to share for 2. This could have fed the 5000! The portion was mahoooosive! Not only that, these nachos were the best we’ve ever come across! All cooked perfectly, none burnt or hard, none soggy. All hot and fresh. 10/10. We both decided to have the Pack burger for mains. I asked for mine well done with cremated bacon, and my hubby had his how it came. OMG! The burger was amazing! Both cooked to perfection, so hot, fresh ingredients and amazing flavours, mine even had a side salad made into a 40 for my birthday, I mean.
