Great place to stay in Dartmouth. Really friendly team, very welcoming. Simple and elegant bedrooms — with great quality duvets and sheets. We didnt eat here, but the menu was tempting. This is a good example of an affordable boutique hotel.

A nice little hotel in the heart of Dartmouth Town centre. The staff are friendly and provided a good welcome when we arrived. The hotel itself is fairly quiet so you shouldn't be disturbed in the night (for light sleepers). Breakfast was very tasty, offering local produce cooked fresh. Thus does however mean that it will take a short while to arrive when you order.

Bit pricey but amazing food and service.

Good place for a simple but varied tapas menu. Staff were lovely.

Had a 2 night stay here and can thoroughly recommend it. Very welcoming owners and nothing was too much trouble. The room we had was spacious with a very comfortable bed and had everything we needed. Breakfast was superb and was cooked just as we like it. An added bonus was the parking permit which allowed us to park about 100 yards away free of charge. Highly recommended.

Great service just needs a facelift.

Had an evening meal there. Was tapas style with lovely food. Waiting service was brilliant and really encouraged tapas style ordering few dishes at a time. Wide selection of delicious dishes that most would enjoy.

Just returned from Browns for 3 nights. Thank you to James and the team for making our stay so lovely and relaxed and for offering ideas to visit — Everyone was so friendly and helpful. Our room was very comfortable with great power shower and lovely bed! The breakfast was superb and offered plenty of choice — all cooked to order. The Tapas in the bar in the evening were amazing! Very good location just a few minutes from the river so all in all we had a great time so thank you again. Highly recommended.

A hotel that offers all you could wish for, nothing to much trouble various type of teas available to take back to your room. When regularly visiting Dartmouth it's because our second home. Perfect, perfect perfect.

A short notice, one-night stay really gave us a taste for this quirky, friendly and unique gem. Attention to detail was great, friendly welcoming staff and an excellent breakfast of locally sourced produce made for a very pleasant stay. Definitely going back, would certainly recommend to anyone wanting to stay in a hotel with character, Martyn and Lynn Turland, Birmingham.

Comfortable and stylish rooms, we were upgraded to a superior room and it was plenty of space for a long weekend away. I had some study to do so was pleased for a small desk for my computer and books Great breakfasts with lots of choice — home smoked bacon and salmon were both out of this world Nice touches were free tapas on a Friday evening which drew in a local crowd and free aperitifs on Sunday for residents as the restaurant was closed. We ate here on Friday night and a bar snack on Saturday evening (after a big Riverford lunch also to be recommended) and both were superb. The wine selection was very good. The owners are knowledgeable around the area and have no end of recommendations for things to do. Very friendly and helpful staff. Nothing was too much trouble to make our stay a good one. We would thoroughly recommend a stay at Browns!

Really lovely food and wine selection. The owner, James, provided a riveting account of the history of the wine we were drinking. The place had a very nice contemporary atmosphere. Would definitely go back!

Superb. Amazing breakfast. Great ambiance superb rooms. Will return.

A fun, fascinating and thought-provoking evening's wine tasting. We were really impressed with all the wines James chose, and with his insights into each one. The food also went beyond our expectations, and was pared brilliantly with each tasting. Highly recommended.

You have got to try the calamari.
