Very nice place and newly renovated.

Had an amazing dinner here with friends. Great menu, everything beautifully presented and delicious. The owner (I think) was so attentive and lovely — a real gin expert! I trusted my drink choices to her and had a couple of gorgeous g&ts from her vast collection. All staff were brilliant, offering a level of service that is rare these days. Perfect evening, thank you. We'll be back!

Me and my partner have stayed here twice and visited the restaurant multiple times. It deserves more than 5 stars just for the staff, they're all lovely and really helpful. The owner is an amazing woman and is always really welcoming. The food is amazing and always beautifully presented. The whole building has a calm feeling to it and makes you feel welcome as soon as you enter it. The rooms are always exceptionally clean with really comfortable beds.

Ashprington Women’s Institute had one of the most wonderful Christmas lunch’s ever today at Furzeleigh Mill.
From the beginning to the end was super with great staff, wonderfull service and so professional nothing was too much trouble, friendly and warm.
The food we were given was out of this world we could not of asked for anything better for a Christmas lunch this year.
Well done and merry Christmas from all the ladies. 👏👏

Brilliant staff and beautiful renovation of what was a tired 💤 old building.
The owners are driven & lead by example.
All in all you’d be hard pushed to find a better run hotel 🏨 in Devon.

Outstanding meal and service. We had a meal this evening and I can't remember when I had such a tasty chicken meal. The chocolate torte was fantastic. Great value for money with friendly staff, who could not do enough for us. A great find. Special mention for the chef great food. Well done.

Stumbled across this place and stopped for breakfast. Delicious food, we both had the Haytor and thoroughly enjoyed it! All high quality produce and seasoned well. Will definitely return, thank you 😊

Freezing cold, creaky floors. Sold fish for breakfast so I was put off mine as someone else had this and stunk the whole dinning room out. In the middle of nowhere really so car needed.

What amazing food at Furzeleigh Mill. Absolutely delicious, too much to finish and reasonably priced. I would eat here all the time if I could. Perfect location for everything with a warm family feel. I really recommend Furzeleigh Mill.

Always lovely food and quick service, but always very quiet, possibly could do with a bit of modernisation, especially in the loos.

Booked a single room through Laterooms at what I thought was a very reasonable price, I needed to leave early the next morning before they started breakfast, so the lady offered me an alternative packed lunch option — they left it in a fridge for me in the restaurant and I picked it up on my way out — now that's what I call service! OK the room decor was a little tired and not the most comfortable bed but everything worked and was clean, and to my mind represented very good value for money, would happily stay there again.

Good food. Friendly and efficient staff. But would suggest avoiding Sunday lunchtime, if under age 65!

Lovely hotel, superbly located for walks in Dartmoor, trips to Buckfast Abbey and the South Devon Steam Railway. Staff are very friendly and helpful, especially at breakfast. Rooms and decor are a little tired but place was very clean and bed super comfy.

Its a 16th century old mill house converted to a Hotel many years ago. It's been run by the same family for last 30 years. It's a 3star hotel rating due to its lack of modern facilities but you cant get everything in such an old and listed building. So no central heating but the rooms have very good electric wall mounted heating. The ensuite facilities are very usable although small so only one in at a time. The bar is well stocked, the dining room/kitchen provide excellent food worthy of many a 5* Ive stayed in. The owners/staff are very friendly and helpful. The obvious downside is all bedrooms are on the first and second floor and there isn't any lifts or bell boy so if your disabled ie can't walk up some stairs and have someone to carry your case. Then this isn't for you. It does have a couple of family rooms on the top floor which are tripple's, ie. Double and Single bed, however I did take a travel cot that fitted in the room be it a little more cramped. I will go there again. I would recommend it for a quiet stay just off the A38 near the Dart Bridge junction at Buckfastleigh, Devon. It was also half the price of anywhere else locally if that matters to you.
