A wonderful place to stay, beautifully decorated, fabulous breakfast and everyone makes you feel so welcome… can’t wait to book again for next year.

A lovely hotel in the heart of brixham. On arrival we were shown to our room which was a very cosy and clean double room with an ensuite. The room was well stocked with condiments. The staff were friendly and helpful and the breakfast was great with a variety of options :) Thanks for the lovely stay.

A very nice cosy quaint old inn with excellent service. Just off a quiet side street 2 mins walk to the harbour. Ideal for passing walkers of SWCP.

The smugglers haunt is just the loveliest cosiest place that we have ever stayed Mark and Arlene you were so awesome so friendly and went every extra mile to make us feel so welcome and Sarah always served breakfast with a smile we stayed for the pirate weekend and will be back next year or even before 5stars to all Lorraine and Martin xxx.

Just returned from 3 nights at this great B&B close to Brixham Harbour but set back from main road. Very comfortable room. Dining room and bar beautifully decorated with fab breakfast ranging from full English, fresh fruit, pastries, real coffee and even waffles with honey. Our hosts were charming and very helpful. Would return to this great place.

New owners are lovely, refurbished the place and it looks great.

The hotel is under new management and is in the process of being refurbished throughout. The new owners Arlene and Mark have brought the hotel back to life again. The rooms are spacious, warm and comfortable. The hot water is plentiful and the breakfast to die for. Arlene and Mark could not do enough for us. Congratulations guys on you new adventure and hope to see you again soon.

This is from a recent experience last year as I couldn't help noticing the reviews that pre-dated the new owners who had just taken over the hotel when we arrived last October. The rooms were clean and tidy and they were in the middle of attempting to update the bar and restaurant area that was closed prior to the couple taking over. They couldn't have been more helpful and friendly under the circumstances and breakfast was spot on. There are two of us returning to stay here along with 5 gueststhis April.

The walls were very thin, no hot water on the second evening, bar and restaurant were closed, narrow stairs, will not be returning.

Pleasant sleep but poor service. Breakfast served too early and attention not drawn to it — we missed it as did 2 friends also staying in the hotel at the same time (yet they maintain only we missed it), No hot water on arrival, no assistance, no guidance, no friendly welcome. Just not up to speed with current standards set by other b&bs. My review on trip advisor was unprofessionally responded to by them (IMO). They could do with a visit from Alex Polizzi and I don't hesitate to rate them this low. Maybe good for a business trip but a weekend stay or young couple away — nah.

A little dated needs some decoration, however our room albeit right at the top of the premises up a very narrow staircase (not for the elderly), was very clean, with good facilities, on the downside, breakfast was far too early in the morning, 8-9am was on holiday for a rest and not to get up as early as we do for work, so passed on breakfast, it was the noisiest place we have ever stayed, next to a church that rang bells every half hour and most of Sunday, the seagulls were non stop 24-7 even throughout the night, then the dog starts barking. The main problem is the parking,. There is none, only the municiple car park in the center of Brixham, not far from the Inn however the cost was an extra £30 for the 3 days we were there, feeding the meter all day and waiting for 6pm to put another £2 for the night fee.
