Had our wedding reception here, and they went out of there way to make sure everything was perfect for us!
Kate and Sandra were amazing very attentive and helpful in anyway.
we had the most romantic, fun and loving evening and night there!

We used The Maynard for our wedding venue and couldnt wish for anything better. The Staff, Support, Food, Beverages and Rooms were 10/10! Highly recommended! Kate and Sandra was on hand throughout the day and evening to ensure everything went to plan and we couldnt thank them enough!

Great spacious rooms and fantastic service with very friendly and attentive staff.

Very poor. 40 minutes for sandwiches that weren't on bread as advertised, soup cold and v unpleasant, 3 * fried chips, not! Cold semi raw child from a freezer Not recommended at all and v expensive.

Perfect wedding venue. They looked after the wedding party so well. Beautiful for an outdoors ceremony. Would highly recommend.

I visited just a bar after a long sunny walk and I can say the staff there is nice and friendly. Two local men were sitting there and I couldn't decide which beer I would drink. One of them said that I should try the strongest one. So I did. Half a pint gone in few minutes and they just didn't believe. So beer is good there. One of the co-walker had something like pork scratchings and it wasn't good. It was like popcorn but in pork version.

Another delicious lunch — a real treat! Such good food and faultless service. Thank you for a special occasion.

My daughter had her wedding reception at the Maynard yesterday, the day was perfect, well planned, rooms lovely, great staff and good food. No negatives loved it and will be back again very soon.

Nice place, there was a wedding going on when me and a few mates rocked up for a pint but we went into the bar and felt welcome.

Absolutely outstanding customer service, right from the start! Charlotte welcomed us in and walked us all the way to our room to see that we were settled. The room was immaculately clean and beautifully set out. We had the breakfast too which was the best we've ever had, the lovely lady who looked after us (24th April — so sorry I didnt catch your name! ) kept our 18 month old entertained which allowed us to really enjoy the breakfast! … Darcey, you are an absoulte diamond and an asset to The Maynard, at dinner our daughter took a real liking to you and you hung out with her, danced with her and taught her how to lay out cutlery, I have a picture but dont appear to be able to share it! Kate, you were so kind to our daughter too! She loved sitting on your lap and listening to you talk to her, you took time out of your busy day to make a little girl very happy! To anyone who wants a boutique hotel with a customer service that will exceed your every expectation get yourselves to The Maynard.

There for granddaughters wedding. The staff were very helpful and considerate. Lovely hotel and restaurant serves excellent choice of food.

My girlfriend and I stayed over on a Friday night at this beautiful place. A great location with fantastic views and parking. Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Great bar with good real ales on tap. Food was delicious and generous portions. The hotel itself is a stunning building, I really like the old staircase. The rooms were really nice. Comfy bed. The cafetiere in the room was a great touch and the coffee was a good blend. I highly recommend staying here and I plan to again.

Fabulous hotel. Great staff, great food and great rooms. All in all a great place to stay if you want to go for walks in the peak district. Also dog friendly.

Lovely hotel. They accomdated our dog which was a big plus for us. The staff were very friendly and helpful and even gave us some local walks to do from the hotel. The decor, food and bar were all great. Excited to go back!

My partner and I stayed over night with our dog. The staff could not have been nicer and were very helpful. The breakfast in the morning was lovely especially as you could choose what cooked breakfast you would like. The staff were so accommodating of our dog and made us feel very at home as we had never stayed in a hotel with our dog. They even printed us a range of walks for the morning which we could take him on. We will definitely be back!

We had our wedding here in October 2017 and everything about this place was beyond excellent. The staff, the food, the general atmosphere made our wedding perfect. Cannot fault anything at The Maynard we called in for Dinner and coffee a couple of times and everything is always spot on. If your looking for the perfect friendly and beautiful wedding venue then look no further! We cannot wait to go back to celebrate our anniversary and hope to visit many more times in the future :-)

Food a little high for the food. Fab room and really friendly staff we had a free upgrade. Very romantic stay.

Very nice surroundings, always caters well for weddings. Professional staff. A bit pricey for drinks and out of the way so taxis will be required. Could do with a better selection of tins!

Was attending my Grand-Daughters Wedding. And had to stay overnight. Our room was brilliant had a terrific view from our window. I thought £130 per night was a little steep but after all it was my Grand-Daughter Wedding.

A wonderful old building set in the peaceful Peak District, surrounded by lovely views and tourist attractions, and only a stone's throw away from Sheffield. I really enjoyed my stay at The Maynard, the staff are friendly and helpful, the rooms are spacious, clean and up to date, and the location is great. There's even a bus that stops right outside for those who would prefer not to drive.

Great place. Dog friendly. Excellent food. Reasonable rates. Fab location.

Good pints, good selection of local beers too. Easy access to the station, perfect for ending a walk down padley gorge.

What a gorgeous place to stay! Staff very helpful, food delicious, views to die for. Well worth a visit.

Friendly and relaxed atmosphere, really enjoyed our short stay. Comfortable room, with good facilities. The communal areas have attractive decor making comfortable surroundings. We went to the restaurant for dinner and had a delicious meal. My only criticism was that the scallops were tiny, and only 3 of them. We'd had Scallops in a pub on South Uist earlier this year that were cheaper and one scallop alone was much bigger than all 3 of these together. Then again, Derbyshire isn't the Outer Hebrides. Otherwise the meal was great and very attentive staff, although it wasn't busy when we stayed. I'd definitely stay here again.

I attended a wedding reception at The Maynard. It was lovely. The decor was stylish, the staff were very helpful. There was a beautiful garden and plenty of space to socialise. The food was excellent and left me full but wanting more. I thoroughly enjoyed my visit and would definitely go again.

Jaeger is professional and clearly enjoys her job. She's making the wedding planning experience very easy.

Excellent, efficient, friendly and attentive staff. Room clean and comfortable. Old building, full of character. No lift so need to check access. Staff keen to help with luggage. In the evening made use of bar for meal and drinks and fully enjoyed both. Breakfast good quality and choice. Comfortable lounge with wood fire. Recommended.

Not much atmosphere, they focus mainly on weddings and events. Service was friendly, food was ok.

Beautiful venue with great food! We chose the Maynard to host our wedding, and couldn't have been more pleased with how the occasion went. The staff is extremely helpful and friendly. Our only suggestion is to update/deep clean some of the bathrooms/toilets.

Really nice accommodations with beautiful views.

Absolute shocking food quality, was invited for birthday meal with 8 others and not one was happy with any of the meals. Microwaved bread, gone off salad, burnt pasta. To top it up service was none existence.
