Absolute hell hole rooms were absolutely filthy we refused to stay promised a refund by the manager now being ignored do not waste your money it’s disgusting look at the state of the towels that were placed on our bed makes me feel sick!

Staff very helpful. Rooms need little TLC. But overall quiet good. Meal was excellent.

I would recommend not working for this company they don’t even pay a wage for someone who worked for them and left due to the place not being suitable for him. My partner was due to get paid today and no payment was received he even messaged the manager to find out why he hasn’t received his payment for the hours worked and she blocked him! Absolutely disgraceful.

The staff were really friendly and helpful. However, wasn't advised breakfast was a chargeable extra at £12.95 pp on arrival, so assumed this was included in the cost per room. Was rudely awoken at 1:30 and again at 3am with inconsiderate people returning to their rooms after a night out. There was no escalator to assist going to the top floor. Sorry, we wont be staying again.

We had our wedding at the Stuart, what an amazing day it was, we were made to feel like a prince, and Princess. Nothing was to much trouble, food was excellent, service was excellent. From the moment the day began, right until the end. I would like to thank Lauren, Tina, and Michelle, for making our day so special. If you have your wedding at the Stuart, you will have the best wedding day, you could ever wish for.

Me and my partner have just got back from our lovely 2 nights away for valentines weekend, the manager was very friendly and interactive with all guests and very welcoming, bar staff and receptionists was lovely, the hotel had a lovely atmosphere and was nice talking to everyone, and the food in the restaurant was absolutely gorgeous, I had a chicken pepper pasta carbanara and was too full for desert so the manager aloud us to take desert into our rooms for later on once our stomachs were settled, me and my partner loved the white chocolate cheesecake, the room was very spacious and clean, I would deffo recommend staying here, love kayleigh x.

Just want to thank Tina and all the lovely staff at The Stuart Hotel for always making me feel so welcome when I come to your amazing Open days! Every single member of staff is so friendly, professional and helpful and I always notice and appreciate it! And the food, well it makes me all warm and fuzzy inside. The cheesecake is my happy time… And the potatoes are life! Lol Honestly though, on the food and friendliness, you'd have my vote any time. Keep being fab. And I'll see you all again soon! Ps. You're the best.

We had our works Christmas do here last night & I must say we all had a great night, the staff were all lovely especially Dean & John who went out of there way to make sure we all had a good night… thanks guy's, the food was lovely too the cheesecake was to die for.
I also took advantage of the complimentary night's stay just for been the organiser of the Christmas do… not many places offer that also a breakfast & a bottle of fizz the room was huge, the bed was huge & so comfy, I wouldn't hesitate at recommending the hotel at all & would stay again if ever needed, ideal location for Derby city centre.

Jyst wanted to say what a fantastic night we had last night at the Xmas party night… everything was perfect lovely food. Lovely staff … Dean was a lovely host too… thank you from the morrisons staff derby xxxx.

There seemed to be no urgency on anything. The bar was limited on what it stocked so could only order certain drinks. Cocktails weren't cocktails.
The rooms didn't have simple things like tea and coffee for the morning.
The bathroom was dirty and definitely needed a paint job.
The staff were all very pleasant however and very nice but there didn't seem to be anyone over the age of 20 working there.
We were given a groupon menu even though we were paying guests so wasnt able to order what we wanted.
I guess it is what it is but we wont come back. Not all the staffs fault but the whole company should check this place to refurb it a lot.

Me & my Husband had our vow renewal here in May & it was amazing, wish we could do it all over again! I stayed at the hotel for two nights, it's a lovely place, great location, nice rooms, delicious food & drink. Tina, Simon & all the staff were very helpful. Will definitely be back, highly recommend!

I usually stay at Hallmark in Derby however Stuart was better deal for this night. On entering room it felt pretty cold so I looked at switching heater on only to discover a pair of thongs hanging over the radiator! The bed was 2 singles pushed together which didn’t help me have a good nights sleep. The shower was a trickle at best. Breakfast the following morning was awful, no cups, glasses, plates or bread available myself and other guests had to ask only to feel like an inconvenience to the girls. I waited around 15 minutes for cooked food which was average when it arrived. I have register for reward points given at the desk each time I have checked in over past month which have never appeared on my statement. Back to the Hallmark for me I think!

Checked in this afternoon. Been here a few times the staff and rooms are always lovely. The food is excellent too.

When I first arrived in was impressed from the moment I entered the hotel reception. I was given a single room and really disappointed with this. The room was cold and I tried to put the heating on but did not come on. I had no signal on the t v and the diner was tasteless. I had the chicken curry and for £15.99 it was shocking. As a frequent traveler I don't think I would come back.

Wonderful hotel, very clean and pleasant but what makes a great hotel is the staff. This hotel scores 10/10 as the staff were helpful, polite and caring. Will definitely stay here again.

We arrived here and we were welcomed from a very friendly and kind young woman. The rooms here are ok. No luxury, but for this price it's more than enough for us! So we stayed only one night, but I can recommend this Hotel for people who want to have a cheap room :) So why not stay here? If you want luxury, then you must pay a lot more.

The perfect place for a 2day break. Staff super friendly and everything was great. We didn't want to leave. Definitely going back there!

Nice hotel ideally located close to the train station in the centre of derby about a 5 minute walk. Very close to shops and restaurants. The staff are really polite and the rooms are basic but the beds are really comfortable, travelling up and down the country for work I've stayed in a few best westerns but this is one of the better ones. The food is good it's in line what similar hotel chains charge, breakfast was very good aswell.

The staff was friendly and very warm to talk to the room was a bit small but for the price it was ok but the evening meal in the hotel was the best meal we have ever had in any hotel it was fantastic so was the breakfast so I have already booked to go back.

Staff were great, super accommodating and friendly, couldn't do enough for you. Lobby, bar and restaurant all seem to have been updated and modernised but the room I stayed in was very much stuck in the 90's/00's which I didn't really expect. Overall pleasant stay mostly down to staff at the hotel.

Nice room but we didn't appreciate being woken up at 7:30 in the morning by carpet fitters banging and hoovering all morning outside our room. No apologies given.

Great value stay. All the staff were friendly and very helpful. Nice breakfast and pleasant room. We were given a free upgrade. My only complaint was the coffee at breakfast but I would definitely recommend this hotel if you are looking for somewhere in Derby to stay.

It's ok. Old building and thin walls so sound travels. Showers are poor. But it is inexpensive. Not cheap though.

No hot water for the morning and heating on even though warm out, dodgy plug in sink… so not easy to wash. Desperately needs updating and not just the furnishings. Would happily pay more for a nicer room.

Very comfortable and relaxed enviriment, not forgetting to mention the friendly staff also the price here is incredible. I am definitely planning to come again and even bring some friends. Great place just fantastic!

The Hotel was ideally located for a walk into the city centre to attend an anniversary party. We were particularly impressed with the extent of the breakfast menu (only meal taken in hotel) which compared well with larger hotels and the quality was excellent.

Best western hotel 5 minutes walk from train station. Staff really friendly, room spotless, tea making facilies, hair drier, the bed was so huge and comfy. Breakfast set us for the day, full English breakfast cooked to perfection, toast, cereal fruit, juice tea and coffee. Nice bar with helpful staff. We will be staying there again.

Cannot thank the team here enough, putting together my dream day in 5 weeks. Tina called me after my panic email, because of a problem with another venue she was amazing, calmed me down and said she and her team could help. And they did we had an amazing day. The staff could not have done enough for us, we were made to feel special and were well looked after, as were our guests. Would recommend anyone thinking of getting married to put this hotel at the top of your list.

Easy 5-7 min walk into Derby City Centre. Room had every facility you could think of (trouser press, iron, Tea & coffee etc). The state of the decor is a little shabby I'd say, but a clean experience. Staff are hit and miss; some friendly others oblivious to hospitality. For me the location is it's best feature.

The Hotel is a10 min walk from the Intu shopping centre in Derby The rooms are standard hotel rooms clean tidy with tea and coffee. The staff were polite and friendly and helpful We were attending a wedding on our visit so did not try the restaurant They also have a function room. A very good Hotel.

Nothing special, but a good, standard facilities hotel. The breakfasts were very good with plenty of choice, but the evening restaurant not so. There are plenty of restaurants nearby so it is better to use one of these.

Lovely hotel with friendly staff. Could do with a lift but the breakfast was fantastic. Less than 5 minutes walk from the central shipping area and very close to the train station. Rooms are plain, perhaps in need of updating but otherwise very clean abd have everything you need. Ac is broken in the basic rooms but fan and water available from reception as the rooms do get quite hot.

Room 308 tight squeeze in barroom toilet (no room between sink and wall with toilet in a narrow space in between) room was cold.

Let start with the price a bargain £88 for 2 nights room very good. I had upgrade so not sure what this means bar very good restaurants top food. Read some of the reviews and am surprised what I have read for same nights at premier Inn 148 breakfast good room very good only 4 star because I've stayed in some top hotels.

I am questioning myself who gave The Best Western a 4 stars?! Bathroom a bit dirty and very visible mould. Shower head very dirty, bathroom radiator didn't work at all, cracked basin, bathroom shelf barely fixed to the wall and everything put on it was rolling down. Bath chipped and looked nasty. Very squeaky bed like the one one can find in a vintage German movies for adults. Room very cold as there was no heating during the night (even three stars hotels have a heating on 24/7). Front desk staff Mr K flagship of the hotel, very professional, friendly and helpful, as well as Ms G. Bartender Mr S very friendly and helpful. Ms G (the Polish lady) very helpful, professional, and very friendly. Overall I would give the hotel max two stars. The only good part of this hotel was a very lovely and professional staff which tried their best my staying to be as good as it could be. Pity that the owner/'s don't pay attention to details. I doubt they would like to stay in the hotel room I was unfortunate to stay in.

Stay here at your peril! Room 255 is directly above the kitchen, so expect plenty of noise from the extractor fan at all hours (5.30am). Pleasant staff but just an awful hotel in need of renovation and noise suppression.

Would not stay at this hotel again after starting a lovley day at my friends wedding then going to our rooms to get changed for the night time we found that somebody had been in our rooms stolen money out my purse and from my parents room there bank card was stolen and £300 was spent on this before we realised it had gone hotel staff was really quite good at first seemed very concerned asked us not to fetch police and let them investigate them self that night so this is what we did but on following morning the staff was just not interested and told us there was nothing more they could do and for us to ring the police if we wanted to so this is what we did and in my heart I do believe it was one of the staff and that they have covered it up before police were called. So what should have been an amazing day turned it to a very upsetting time for me and my family and a friend who also had things taken.

You get what you pay for. Room we got was very small even for a "cozy" room. Heating ran all night so we didn't get the best sleep. But a really nice budget hotel, restaurant and bar to rival most, they even did room service.

Cannot fault this place at all. Had a standard double room which was very clean and a good size. The bathroom was clean with a good working shower and nice size bath. The bed was very comfy and the duvet was amazing. It was nice to have air con as hotel rooms can become very warm and I hate having to open a window as you get noise from outside on the street. Nice selection of tea and coffee. I would definitely stay here again without hesitation.

Tired, bad food on my trip. Seems a bit under staffed. Great value and location.

Went here for Sunday lunch and a meeting in their conference rooms. The staff were very friendly and helpful but there were so few of them. They have a pretty little cocktail bar but no bar tender. The receptionist was lovely but far to busy on the front desk to pop off every time someone wants a beer. The food was tasty but small portions. The service was slow as there were only two waitresses for 24 people. So all in all would be good if there were about 60 percent more staff. I would think this was a one off but was exactly the same that last time we went. We will be going somewhere else next year for our meeting.

Very comfortable stay in this recently refurbished hotel. Friendly and helpful staff. I stayed in an executive double which was large and well maintained.

Was there for one night only, however was the cheapest in the area and much better quality than more expensive places in the area. Very clean and nice spacious room. Coffee making facilities were adequate. Staff were really friendly and were happy to let us use the car park before we could check, was really professional yet relaxed. Would recommend.

You pay for what you get I suppose. The room was very small but adequate with a good size bed. The bathroom was tiny, there were cracked tiles, the toilet was cracked and generally a grubby bathroom. Breakfast was very good with a good selection and your full fry up was freshly cooked, although on the second morning the sausage looked like a reheat. Evening meal was good. Location for the centre off Derby with free parking was also a plus. Out the back of the hotel is a St. John's ambulance station and a club, on the second night the club had a party on till 2:30 in the morning and totally ruined our nights sleep. Be aware of this.

We had a lovely day for my sons wedding and were 95%happy with our stay. Problem was, trying to keep kids happy between Wedding and meal. Then Meal to Night do. Parents were worried that the kids could get out onto the roads. Then when the meals were served the kids had to sit and watch. This is wrong. You serve the kids first then it occupies them. We can wait, they can't. Apart from this Well Done for a lovely day.

A good classic English style hotel. An average hotel, very friendly staff. I recommend taking the double room which is already very small because the single room barely has the bed.

I got a single room for 2 nights. I got an end of corridor room with a view of the staff car park (which I nearly parked in) Hotel guest car park is just off a crossing point at the front of the hotel so don't get lost. Room is cosy not small and the bathroom is pretty decent. Just don't expect a power shower. Kettle is hidden in a drawer with no spoon for making a drink. Found the complimentary slippers behind the desk covered in fluff. But the black out curtains work and the room is warm. Water runs at a constant temperature unlike other places I have stayed. Can have food in the restaurant, the bar or room service for an extra charge. And some food available 24 hours. Overall for the price a decent place to be. Only 10 minutes walk into city centre.

The double room was really small with barely space to walk around, the single glazed windows didnt close properly and allowed a lot of outside noise to cone through and the Wi-Fi reception wasn't great either. Decent location though.

Staff were very polite, room was an ok size and average cleanliness but was very hot due to no air con. The bathroom also got very hot due to the extractor fan not working. Rooms are very noisy and you can hear everything outside and upstairs. Overall it is ok as long as you have to be up early and don't want anything other than a room to sleep in.

The room was sizeable and well equipped. I was able to get an upgrade after the first room I was given smelt of cigarettes. I felt the hotel was excellent value for money and only a few minutes walk from the centre of town. I'd definitely stay here again.

Small rooms and dated. Not enough car parking space when functions are on. Shame windows dont open as feel a bit closed in. Other all cheap and cheerful.

Not bad. The hotel was clean, staff were friendly and the car park was fine. There was a car in there though with a smashed window — unsure if there was an accident or a break in though.

The room is quite small — the bathroom is very small. The room is also dark and I can hear people talking on the phone 2-3 rooms away. I can connect to, but not seem to use the Wi-Fi, nor can I use the wired Ethernet connection — I finally managed to connect the cable as the socket was broken and protruded back behind the faceplate, but it doesn't connect to a network. Also, there is no iron or ironing board. The car park isn't very large — I arrived at 6pm on a Tuesday and got one of the last spaces — the spaces are not very wide.

We received excellent customer service. The staff was friendly and extremely helpful. The rooms however are fairly small but that's understandable. All in all a great stay!

I often stay up in Nottingham and surrounding areas for work, so my main goal is to find a cheapish bed for the night without it being a complete hotel. I would say The Stuart Hotel, in this area, is by far the best I've found for my needs — it's not exactly posh but is clean warm and private. Parking can be tight when the place is busy but otherwise they have a nice bar, half-decent food and a large shopping center just down the road. Considering I often book through Laterooms the price is almost always a bargain.

I have never had a worse experience. The reception was in need of knowing how to greet people. The bar service, we are still waiting for help. If you find yourself there. Run to Midland rd. To have breakfast and the pub in the corner Crown and Cushion they are wonderful host and hostess. I've travel to hundreds of countries and hotels this is the worse ever! If one was speaking to a wall one would get the same reaction as these people who run this reception desk. They do not offer the class of England rather the possible lowest of commoner.

Staff are very friendly. Rooms are fairly clean, but very small. Damage to the bath and mould between tiles. Sure they could splash out and get Wi-Fi and slightly better tv's.

Well over priced if you end up paying the full amount, but you can haggle the price down A LOT. Clean and tidy with a few "usual" problems, why spend all that money on a hotel and not have a half decent TV? No Wi-Fi in the room, just Ethernet (must of forgotten it's 2013) and the shower is tiny, and I mean tiny. Try to get a room far away from the internal fire doors, as when they are open and closed it makes so much noise. It woke me many times during my stay. Breakfast is fairly good, and parking was available free at the rear. Overall a o. K. Hotel. Just don't pay the £100+ room fee Haggle Haggle Haggle.

I was in The Stuart for 11 nights. First of all I got room, infron of windows was Air con and first night was very difficult. I asked them to change room and I was succes. But In new room in 3rd floor the preasure in the shower is very low : — (And some party was in next house as was mentioned. I think that 4stars is to much.
