Fabulous food with very generous portions and friendly service as always, one of our favourite pub after a walk around some of the many local natural beauty spots.

Friendly staff and great beer.

After a five mile walk with the dog, my husband and I popped in for some food, and wow what a fantastic meal we had, homemade steak pie, proper chip's, veg and gravy, very filling. Thank you. The landlord was also very welcoming.

Dog friendly, well kept ale and fantastic food. The regulars are friendly, just like the pub. Definitely worth a visit.

A warm welcome upon arrival. Room was spacious, comfortable and complete with hot drink facilities. A wide selection of ales behind the bar.
Breakfast was superb! A choice of cereals and yoghurts followed by a full English. Superb service throughout. Thoroughly recommended.

We have been visiting for many years but over the last year we have been overcharged on 3 occasions! The final time was today, we will not be going any more.

We always stop here for lunch when walking near Youlgreave. The place is very relaxed. There's a bar area with no carpet so you don't feel bad about muddy boots. Food is always good and staff always friendly. You cant beat home made chips!

Definitely a must stop after a nice day hiking in this wonderfull area! Food and staff was lovely!

A couple of superb pints, amazing trout served simply with mash and veg, Mac cheese to die for. An entirely tradition English pub with good service and no pretentions. A pub for locals and visitors alike, a great place for the thirsty, the hungry, local, traveller and walker — but don't expect fancy!

Simple food cooked to perfection. Portions defy belief. Not once had a bad meal here and the staff are very nice.

Always brilliant food hear. Home made chips are beautiful the fish won't fit on your plate and the pie melts in your mouth.

A truly proper English pub. Don't act entitled, be a polite guest and you will receive a muted welcome. Become a regular and you will be warmly welcomed. Surprisingly good grub and plenty of it.

Good quality, well-cooked hearty food served in a family friendly atmosphere. Massive portions! We often come to the George when in the Peaks as you can reliably be assured of a decent plate of food and a full belly.

Hillsway is a nice place to stay. The rooms are large, and everything was lovely and clean when we arrived. It was exactly as described. The village is really nice, with three pubs to choose from. We went to the closest (because it was the closest) — but we went twice, as it was good pub food, and the people were very friendly. We would stay at Hillsway again.
