Went for evening meal with our dog. The human food was really tasty and the staff were lovely. The pooch was made to feel incredibly welcome with her own bowl of water and bowl of biscuits and ham. We would definitely go back for ourselves but think the dog will be first through the door!

First time here. We stopped for lunch. We ordered from the “oldies” menu, smaller portions. Portion was not as small as expected, exactly the right amount for us! Food was delicious, customer service was excellent! Even our dog was given his own bowl of food and water! Thoroughly recommend it and we will definitely be back! Thank you!

Great hotel just had a lovely few days away with my girlfriend and her family! Georgina and all the staff made us and the dog feel so welcome and food and drink was out this world and dog was spoilt dog defo be back as soon as we can!

Been visiting Reeth for 20yr and first time we stayed here. Fantastic hotel, food was amazing and all the staff went above and beyond call of duty. Would definitely recommend this hotel and like Arnie said I'll be back. X thanks for fab time xx.

My room was above the pub, whilst I enjoyed lovely views over the green, it was noisy with music.

Food is lovely, kids meals are a great size & desserts are delicious!
Sunday lunch is 100% recommended. Gina & Phil do a brilliant job and are wonderful hosts always going above and beyond.

Amazing find in Reeth. Food is so good we visit at least once a week although it’s a half hour drive for us. The Sunday roast is to die for and such good value. Staff super friendly and make you feel very welcome.

One night stay. Bedroom and bathroom had everything we needed, including a view over the village green. Very friendly staff. Simple but excellently cooked dinner and breakfast. The apple pie (which came with strawberries and cream) was particularly good. We plan to return for a winter holiday here.

Couldn't fault the staff or place. The rooms are clean and well equipped with everything, tea, coffee and big fluffy towels. There's walks from the door so no need to use the car and the views are good. If you have dietary problems please let them know before you arrive and they will try to accommodate your needs. We had a good breakfast every morning of our stay and there's plenty of choices for a evening meal if you chose to dine there. The staff all went out of their way to make us feel welcome. If you have a dog it's the place to stay, although we haven't but there's plenty of dog biscuits by the door and all dogs get a special welcome. You go as strangers but leave as friends. So much so we have booked in again.

We stayed here 6 nights in order to explore the area and completed some excellent walks with mostly superb weather. The accomodation was very good and so was the food at very reasonable prices. The specials evenings were particularly good. The staff were always attentive and willing to help. A beautiful area and an excellent base. We will be back!

Friendly staff, very good small fish and chips, carefully presented, jacket potato really fluffy. Oh and good beer too.

Great pub, especially if you have dogs. There's a dog menu to purchase a meal for you pouch while you're eating. Even if you just pop for a drink the lady comes straight out with a water bowl and small bowl of dog biscuits and ham!

This pub is amazing! We have an anxious dog he was loved and looked after by staff. Gina brought him a Sunday dinner treat bowl and gave us a carry out for him. They asked for no money so Hugo the dog left a lovely tip. We live in Newcastle area and will travel here for a day out and Sunday lunch here. Best pub I have ever had Sunday lunch with my wife and dog. Thank you so much Gina and family xxx ps our dinner was also fab loved it! Xx.

Best pub in Reeth for welcome, atmosphere, food and the way rhey go out of thier way to look after your dog. Will definately be back to Reeth because of this place.

A welcoming atmosphere with simple food and drinks. The staff were very welcoming. Go early if you're after Sunday lunch.

Had a very good experience when we spent the night here with our dog. The staff we friendly and welcoming and couldn't do enough for us, our room was clean and bright and there we lots of little touches that made us feel valued. We ate a good meal in the evening and they even had a separate menu for the dog who was treated as well as us if not better! The hotel is perfectly placed for exploring Reeth and the surrounding villages, we will definitely return and will highly recommend this hotel for anyone thinking of a visit to this beautiful area of Yorkshire.

Good down to Earth pub/hotel. Clarridge's it ain't, but it doesn't pretend to be. Good down to Earth food, amazing prices on the specials nights and mine hosts are great, approachable friendly people. We have the steak night most Thursday's, and for 2 excellent steaks with all the trimmings AND a bottle of quality wine… £25! You can't whack that! Top Marks to the Kings Arms.

No complaints till breakfast, I had requested a vegetarian breakfast for my partner and myself when I booked, I reminded them when we checked in, to which I was told they had received our request no problem, went down for breakfast to be told there was no veggie breakfast for us as we had not requested one, I explained we had. Twice. She remarked it was to late as it would take 4 hours to thaw out the sausages! to which I replied " there vegetarian, they don't need thawing out! " to which she replied " yes they do, I know because I used to be a vegetarian" she returned to say in a very surly manner OK she would do us a veggie breakfast but we would have to wait at least 20 minutes or more, she eventually returned with our 'one' Linda McCartney sausage a piece and 5 half's of toast what happened to the sixth we shall never know, nearly told her to stick it where the sun don't shine.

Fantastic hotel and bar. Very dog friendly. Would recommend it to anyone.

We stopped for a quick drink and toilet break with our two children. It's recently been refurbished and tidied up, looks and smells much better than on previous visits (not that it was dirty, just dated and needed a refresh). Selection of drinks was good. We've eaten here in the past — food has always been nice.

Tried for meal at 5.15 as sign seen earlier in day said open 5.00. Landlord opened door and told us to wait. Two staff were lighting candles. Door opened 5.25 after ffreezing wait and landlord said sign was wrong. New one not come yet. Meal ok, starter good but stroganoff lacked beef. Curry as usual but good printed menu not matched by performance. £38 for two is not cheap but meal was really. Landlord's wife pleasant enough but not making up for him. Should have gone to Buck 50 yards away and excellent. Just wanted to try new menu. Sad evening but back to coal fire and better evening.

We stayed at the Kings Arms in Reeth for four nights and had a great visit — in a very nicely decorated/furnished room, with a fantastic view across Reeth and the Dales. The breakfast, service and staff were all excellent. The reviews below do not reflect the current management that have owned the Kings Arms since February 2011.

After staying in this hotel I found the reviews below very untrue, it was clean, comfortable and the staff are very friendly, with great food and a lovely atmosphere, I would definitely stay here again.

Both the Landlord and Land (lady) are possibly the most obnoxious people I have ever met in my life. They speak to customers in the rudest manner, treat guests like dirt and have not got a clue how to run a bar. The beer is by far the worst in the village if not the Dale. The Kings Arms used to be the best bar in the village with a warm local welcome from people who knew what thet were doing! I understand that ALL the local staff have left. The Buck and the Black Bull are a much better bet. Run by locals, drunk in by locals and both with warm welcome assured.
