Just had a delicious Sunday lunch here. Very good value for money cooked to a high standard. Second meal here in 2 days. Would definitely recommend this place. You do need to book as it can get very busy. Staff were great too.

Had a wonderful Sunday roast lunch earlier today, friendly, helpful staff, comfortable surroundings and the best roast I've had in a long time! plenty of veg and meat. Starters and dessert were devine. Menu has plenty to choose from, definitely will be back.

Very nicely refurbished establishment! We had a large, dual aspect, room with a massive en suite & comfortable sofa as well as the usual bed etc. The evening meal & breakfast were included in our 'deal' & were excellent quality. We enjoyed our one night stop over & would recommend Lamplighters.

We booked a table this evening at the Lamplighter to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary. The food was delicious and the staff were attentive but not intrusive. We had the artisan breads as a sharing starter, I had a vegetarian curry which was served with rice, naan bread and mango chutney, my husband had the ballotin of chicken served with perfect buttery mashed potato, peas and gravy. I was too full for dessert but my husband had chocolate torte which he enjoyed. If you are in Windermere pay them a visit, you wont be disappointed.

We had an absolutely delicious 3 course Christmas meal from The Lamplighter, we were in Windermere for a long awaited week away to celebrate some big birthdays and decided to do a ‘fake Xmas’. Staff went out of their way to accommodate us and we were very grateful. The food was delicious and the portions were more than ample. Highly recommend!

Absolutely beautiful little place perfectly situated in Windermere. Exquisite three course evening meal and the breakfast equally so. Every effort taken to ensure covid safety, we would definitely come back. Very friendly staff, warm atmosphere. Highly recommend.

Mother’s Day Roast 2021 was from the Lamplighter and my goodness it didn’t disappoint at all. It was absolutely superb I would highly recommend to anyone. I can’t wait until we can visit again in person.

Food always consistently good, beautiful vegetables fresh fish and locally sourced produce.
Amazing desserts and delicious cheeses.
All round enjoyable meal out respectful of the Covid situation and customer safety.
A must for visitors to Windermere.

When we arrived they was a sign that said please wait her, 2 members of staff seen us waiting but didn’t come over. Food was ok nothing special, my food was only just warm, not hot at all. No one asked us if everything was ok?. The restaurant was freezing with 2 doors opened and I had to ask twice for my bill. As we booked for our wedding anniversary, I was really disappointed and only booked after reading the reviews, which was really good.

We had a lovely stay in January for my husband's birthday. Wonderful location in easy walk of all the shops and bars in Windermere. We ate there in the evening and had a couple of drinks and really enjoyed it. The staff were friendly, and the room was clean and welcoming. We were able to park in their car park. Great breakfast true. We don't live far away so going to go back for the Sunday lunch!

Quite simply one of the best Sunday dinners I’ve ever had, all food was perfect, warm relaxing atmosphere with great friendly staff.

Had a wonderful dinner, excellent presentation of the food and great service.

Food was lovely, service seemed a little lacklustre. (asked for a wine menu but then had to go to the bar to actually get it) and took an age to clear the plates after every course. We had to ask for the bill then go up again to pay. Food however was absolutely lovely! both a vegetarian option and a steak was delightful.

Wonderful host… we arrived to a fully booked restaurant but were squeezed in. Delightful members of engaging staff and beautifully presented, delicious food.

Lovely meal excellent service fair price would definitely recommend and go again, tonight a nice surprise was folk night so some nice entertainment.

The staff were helpful and polite. The breakfast was tasty and hot. The menu was varied and had a good selection of meals. Reasonably priced. Room was huge and tastefully decorated, very clean. Car park quite small and awkward to get into.

Staff friendly nothing to much trouble. Food was very well presented and some of the nicest I’ve ever eaten. Certainly worth a visit.

If the weather is good it’s a great place to sit outdoors and watch the world go by. Lovely food and great G&T.

Great experience in this restaurant. Dilicious food, free for child, and Nice service. Will come again if The another time to Windermere.

Hot plates would be advisable.
The chef should really taste his food before sending out to the customers.
The customer should not hear the ‘ding’ of the microwave before sending the side dishes out.
Perhaps in such a Restaurant/Eaterie populated area a little look at tweeking the menu may be advisable.
A little attention to detail and thinking about the background music would be advisable also.

Booked for a short break. Ideal location only a few minutes from Windermere centre. Clean comfortable bedroom. Tea/Coffee making facilities. Parking is somewhat limited however we we're lucky throughout our stay in regard to this. The bar area is bright and spacious. Drinks are average price. An extensive cocktail menu is available (very innovative and creative bar manager! ) Soda water and lime like I have never had! We dinned two nights in the Lamplighter. On both occasions we were accommodated in the bar area as we had our dog with us and the dining rooms do not allow dogs. (I was completely happy with this). The menu is varied and reasonably priced in accordance with the good quality produce being used. The staff are all knowledgeable about what is being served, which is refreshing, and can give a good account/description of what's on the menu, specials etc. On both evenings we dinned there our meals were delicious. Would highly recommend the lamb and the steak.
'Thunder and lightening' a delight if you want to finish your meal on a sweet note! Superb cheese board with nice selection including local produce. Perhaps one of the most important parts about one's stay is the staff and how they interact with guests. I can honestly say I have never met a more pleasant team of people. All the staff are genuinely friendly, courteous, helpful, efficient and basically couldn't do enough for you.

What a great place. We have arrived after a long 7 hour drive and couldn’t be happier! A lovely warm welcome. Not only from the open log fire! We couldn’t fault the dinner, great wine and excellent service — we would love to return again and would highly recommend — I have to admit to hardly ever reviewing anywhere but this needed to be done! 5

Beautiful amazing people, food & service. We were met by the front of house guy who was so welcoming. We had a couple of cocktails in the bar and were offered the menu in preparation for our reservation. When showed to the table they had taken up on my request when booking that it was an xmas present dinner date for my partner so they sprinkled rose petals and gave us the best table. The staff couldn’t do enough. The food was outstanding. All staff that waited on us worked seamlessly. A truly special occasion. Would definitely go again. In fact can’t wait.

Highly recommend if your going to the lakes as just five minutes away by car.
