Linthwaite House Hotel Hotel

Linthwaite House is situated on a hilltop overlooking Windermere, making it the perfect base from which to explore the scenic surroundings. Guests can enjoy activities such as boules, or play chess on the giant outdoor chessboard.
On Mondays and Tuesdays there is an all day dining menu available in the Bar & Conservatory area.
Wednesdays to Sundays, the on site fine dining restaurant, Henrock by Simon Rogan, serves dishes using local ingredients. The a la carte menu features small plates and sharing dishes.

Absolutely disgraceful. Food served cold and beds contain bed bugs I want be staying here again no siree.
Had alwonderful fternoon teas here for years and it has recently changed hands. Place looks great and staff couldn't be more helpful. Food was excellent, however they seem to have missed the point of afternoon tea and 'TEA'. I was offered either Earl Grey, English Breakfast tea, or a plethora of fruit teas. I am used to seeing a menu for tea at such a place, and like a few different teas as we eat through the food. Such as Darjeeling, Assam, Ceylon etc. The staff had no idea about tea and brought me a fruit Darjeeling. This spoiled the event for me as I could only have English Breakfast as the only other Darjeeling was another fruit tea version. They just didn't understand about tea. I feel the owner would benefit by visiting the Grosvenor Hotel in Chester or the Midland Hotel in Manchester to see how it should be done. Because their very high quality of food is being spoiled by not offering the full deal. At present it has put me off going back as it has become a very serious place — I could not relax in the atmosphere they have created. In the past the previous staff made it one of the most relaxing places to be.

Stayed for a Saturday evening in September was excellent from the moment we arrived, we were looked after by the staff for the entire duration of our stay and the food was great. We will definitely be returning to this fantastic establishment.
