Just returned from a two night stay at Dome House. Wanted somewhere really nice to stay for a couple of night for my birthday. Done house was the perfect getaway. We stayed in the self catering apartment. Five *. Two good size bedrooms, really deep bath, great shower. Fully fitted kitchen and your own private patio area. The extra touches like the bathrobes, slippers, and chocolates are what to be expected from a five star hotel. The dome room has a fantastic view. The honesty bar was well stocked and was nice to sit and have a little tipple in the evening just enjoying the view. Yes it’s up a hill but you wouldn’t get the fantastic view otherwise. You can get a taxi back up for under four pound if you don’t fancy the walk back up. The pool was a added bonus as we were blessed with exceptionally hot weather it was very refreshing. We would definitely stay again if we were to stay in bowness. It was just a pity we had other commitments for the rest of the week and weren’t able to book for longer. Would highly recommend.

I stayed here a couple of years ago and the place is mind blowing. The property is spectacular as are the views and local walks which I love doing. Since COVID 19 I have thought as soon as I’m able this is where I need to go once more to relax. I also know that what made it really special was the hosts Phil and Joyce who went out of there way to make my visit such a special one.

Absolutely loved our 2 night stay here, rooms are beautiful and the most amazing views, very quiet, and breakfast dropped off at your door is a nice touch, hosts very helpful and friendly and not overbearing just perfect.

Lovely chilled out place with all the mod con’s and a pool as well.

What an amazing house! The views and location are what sold the property to us! The owners are lovely and nothing was too much trouble. Joyce gave us some great tips and recommendations!

This is an extremely late review and I can only apologise! I was lucky enough to win a competition for a nights stay (stayed 10th Feb! ). This place is so amazing and Joyce and Phil are excellent hosts and gave us the low down on the best places to go fr drinks. The rooms are to die for and that bath! I can only hope to have a house big enough one day to get one!. It was a welcomed break away from our 3 year old and 9 month at the time and it couldn't have been more perfect. We sat outside and ate breakfast as the views were so beautiful, so nice to have a different style of breakfast loved having the basket delivered! I've told everyone I know about how amazing your place is and I hope to visit again soon (when I can convince someone to babysit again! ) Thank you so much again for picking me as the winner and so sorry for such a late review! Very unique, quirky place to stay. Owners very welcoming and helpful. Beautiful continental breakfast delivered to your room at a time of your choosing. Would love to stay again when returning to Bowness.

Absolutely beautiful place… A WOW moment when you arrive… Upon arrival we were greeted by Phil’s parents who couldn’t have been more amazing. We felt so welcomed from the start. The location is perfect, the views are spectacular and the house is out of this world. This has to be one of the best places I have ever visited. The little touches in the room just add to the whole experience. The rooms are extremely comfortable and spotless. Phil and Joyce are so friendly and made our time here perfect. Breakfast was brought to the door and was one of the best continental breakfasts I have ever had. I could not recommend Dome House enough and we will definitely be visiting again. Thanks again for making our night away so beautiful.

Upon arrival Phil greeted us saying it's the best views of the Lake and he was totally right! The views are amazing. The location is fab, literally a 5 min walk right into the centre of Bowness. Plenty of room to park the car as well! The rooms are lovely, very spacious, immaculately clean and have everything you need. They are furnished to a high standard. The breakfasts are good and hand delivered to the room! Which to us was perfect. Plenty of tea/coffee etc and fresh milk provided daily. The bedroom views are beautiful but the view from the shared sitting room is to die for! Particulary in the evening and very peaceful. From the moment we arrived until we departed we were made to feel welcome. We would highly recommend staying here, it has a personal touch and we will be visiting again. Thank you very much for your hospitality.

Stunning, unique, modern, stylish, beautiful, one of a kind; you can throw all the superlatives you like at Dome House and it would be deserving of every single one of them without question. When you add in how amazing, friendly and attentive the hosts are, I'm not sure you'll find anything better. The views are out of this world, it's in a great location and it is exceptional value for money for everything it has to offer and compared to other places I have both looked at and stayed in. I genuinely loved my stay and I cannot wait to come back.

My wife and I felt blessed to spend the night at Dome House, an inspirational build with fantastic views, situated in a great place for exploring the area. Phil and Joyce are such attentive hosts. Just perfect!

Having stayed in many great places in Bowness and Windermere, since my Mum and Dad retired there in 1995, like Miller Howe, 21 The Lakes and many more, it was an absolute pleasure to spend some down time in Downhouse Lakes recently. The location is simply perfect, overlooking the Lake. The look and feel of Domehouse is superb and the welcome outstanding. It's just a short downhill walk to Bowness and all the bars and restaurants, but, without doubt, the thing that stands out most of all is the value for money. It's the new favourite, and a revisit is already on the cards.
