Beautiful setting, fantastic staff and beyond excellent cuisine. Can't recommend the Grand at Grasmere enough.

Had a lovely weekend at Grand celebrating our wedding anniversary with friends beautiful surroundings lovely staff and delicious food will definitely be returning.

Service fantastic the minute you walk through the door and we only came for Lunch. Gorgeous food!

Disappointed for my parents that they couldn’t properly celebrate their golden wedding anniversary at The Grand at Grasmere because the room they specifically booked back in March to cater for my mum’s disability was not available when they arrived (it had been given to someone else the same day that arrived slightly earlier). My mum had even phoned last week to make sure the room she needed was still available for her which she was told it was… journey from West Yorkshire.

Beautiful all, the area it's just perfect for relaxing time, the hotel it's wonderful, food lovely and the views are fantastic, amazing ❤❤❤

Just come back from the grand, food was lovely and the staff were aswell although we felt the room we were in (room 30), whilst it overlooks the lake and is stunning, the bathroom needs replacing and was a very cold room as the wardrobes were underneath the air con unit so preventing the heat to fill the room, it just felt half finished with decor altogether,

Just enjoyed a 3 night break at the Grand at Grasmere. Such a stunning hotel & fab location for walking. The breakfasts were wonderful & we had the most amazing meal in the Cafe Grand (most definitely recommend the Chataubriand! ).

Such a beautiful setting, perfect for a luxurious few days away from home. The rooms are spacious and provide all you need, staff were friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back!

Incredibly overpriced for the poor quality of food. We just visited The Grand for a meal on the last night of our honeymoon. The hotel itself is beautiful with stunning views across the mountains and lakes and looking at the menu (type of meals and price) it was safe to assume it should be an exuisite meal. We ordered some nibbles for starters, these were all lovely, although it’s hard to go wrong with bread and halloumi! However, the mains were far below the standard you would expect for the cost! £23 for a rib eye, alone, this included no sides, these were all additional. It’s not too unusual to pay that sort of price but when I do I would expect it to be top notch. The steak was very chewy and nothing particularly special. What you’d expect from a chain pub. The pepper sauce was very tomato-y and not particularly pleasant, but that was more down to taste preference. The burger my husband ordered tasted like a frozen burger you’d buy from the supermarket, he ate a couple of bites but left the majority and the chips were undercooked. On the whole this was an incredibly disappointing meal. We advised the waiter that the food was not very nice/up to standard and asked for the bill. The £72 bill was handed to us, no discount bearing in mind there was a meal and half left over! We did query this and were told “they cannot do discounts” but could offer us a free coffee. So that turned out to be an incredibly expensive brioche bun!

Possibly the greatest find in the UK. What a Gem of a place…! As a lover of food & great places to eat… It genuinely gives me pleasure to advise anyone wanting to know… The food at the the Grand At Grasmere is amazing… I mean fine dining amazing… I mean absolutely top drawer… The chef that cooked our meals in the open kitchen so you can see hear & smell everything… was in my opinion… A Master at his craftThank you for The Best eating experience… I guarantee we will be back & I will recommend the visit to anyone & everyoneStands raises glass & applauds.

Great location in the village to stay and walk straight out the door. Great rooms/breakfast. Good, safe parking. We find the evening menu a bit weird hence 4 stars.

Nice hotel. Comfortable. Quiet. Good food. Lovely location for Grasmere and the rest of the lake district. Loved that you could sign in to your item account on netflix and Amazon prime on the T. V.

Second 3 day stay within 2 weeks first time booked in advance for a superior room in the lodge which was wonderful this last stay was booked last minute due to good weather and we got the last fell view room so a little apprehensive, Steffan showed us a lovely first floor room with a windowed seating area explaining that it hadn't been completely refurbished yet. We were really pleased with it especially with such a last minute booking the only thing we missed was a fridge and air conditioning and that was due to temperatures in excess of 30 degrees but a fan was provided so once again another super stay. (Love the enormous comfy beds) Thanks to everyone see you a little later in the year.

Lunch on the patio was divine after a long hike. Prompt and friendly service. The chicken Caesar and superfood salad were excellent.

My wife and I stayed here for two nights, midweek in June 2018. We enjoyed it very much and would go back again. The building is beautifully renovated with classy modern decor, airy and bright. We booked the most expensive room, a lake view room with balcony for 250 British Pounds per night, including breakfast. The balcony overlooks fields used for sheep grazing. We enjoyed being close to all the birds and the flock of 20 to 30 sheep. The man who cared for the sheep had a dog who helped round up the animals. It felt like we were living on a working farm, and we loved it. The room was spacious and modern with a very nice bathroom. The in-room coffeemaker was a fancy model, too complicated for me to use, even after the staff gave me two demonstrations on how to brew the coffee. Apparently my Masters degree is not adequate for this task. In the room we could clearly hear every step people took in the room above, but luckily it was a quiet couple in that room, so not a big issue. The dining facilities and bar at the hotel are beautiful and spacious, with lots of windows, views, and natural light. The decor is modern and tasteful and there is an open kitchen, making it more interesting. Breakfast was done very well, offering a combination of buffet service and waitress service. You can eat indoors or outside on a lovely patio. It should be noted that views of the lake are minimal.

Just returned from a night away at the grand at grasmere. The staff from the first phone call to leaving was above and beyond. They couldn't do enough for you. The room was amazing great views of the gardens and the lake. Side room with coffee machine to sit and look at the amazing views. The hotel was modern and very romantic. The food was all cooked fresh for you and the breakfast was really good too. We will be going back.

Lovely place. Quality feel about it. Sat close to the window with beautiful views over the lake. Cumberland sausage and mash was tasty and husband's lamb stew was pronounced delicious!

Would highly recommend this hotel, it’s beautifully decorated, the views are stunning and the staff are just SO lovely and helpful. They do everything they can to make your stay as relaxing and stress free as possible — for example we arrived down to breakfast this morning with our young son and they had already set up a table for us with a highchair, remembered our order from the day before and brought us 2 milks with our hot drinks as they must have noticed with were a little short the day before! Top service.

Stayed here a few times since being under new ownership. Some rooms under gone minor makeover on the promise all rooms would be done, room 21 was our last room in November 17 returned today and it' major improvement. Selishly I m reluctant to give a good review but have to say ogres beautiful.

This hotel oozes quality. Everything has been carefully thought out and put in place to provide the guest with an unforgettable experience.
Everywhere you look, from the door handles, sanitary ware manufacturers, complimentary toiletries, furniture, decor, bar, lounge and restaurant, even the reception is pure class. We loved it! I’ve stayed in numerous hotels both abroad and in the UK (including many 5*) and I can say without any doubt, this is the best I’ve ever stayed in. Whoever put this hotel together knows their ‘stuff’

My husband and I spent Saturday night at The Grand, celebrating his birthday, we had an amazing stay, the food was fabulous, the staff couldn't do enough for us, our room was lovely and the breakfast was to die for, if I was to complain about anything it was our stay wasn't long enough… absolutely outstanding service in every way.

Room beautiful, stunning views around the hotel, generous parking, excellent front of house service, hearty breakfast options a plenty. The whole experience from start to finish is lovely… especially this time of year as the hotel is tastefully dressed for Christmas. We have stayed throughout the last year… if you've never been here you're missing out on a uniquely special experience that only the Grand at Grasmere provides.

This is an absolutely lovely venue, the refurbishment is fantastic and up to a very high standard. Drinks are similarly priced to any other good venues. Food was very nice too. Highly recommend.

This is a most wonderful hotel experience. Paul and Cathy and staff manage the impossible — blending professionalism with a friendliness and cheer which makes a stay here ultra-special. The food is a delight, the view impossible to match: the perfect chill-out, we find, and look forward to our next visit.
