Have just returned from a four day stay at this lovely, friendly, cosy BandB. Karen and Alison were so welcoming and the rooms were immaculate and spacious. My welcoming tray was full of tasty treats and breakfast was amazing. The girls were very attentive and helpful and I’m so looking forwards to my next visit. Perfect for me Definitely recommend this B and B.

Excellent guesthouse. Karen and Alison extend a very warm welcome, they even greet you by name, having never met you. The rooms are very comfortable and clean but it's the small touches that separate this from the average guesthouse. Everything is geared towards a first class experience for the customer vs cutting corners to save money. This all adds up to a very enjoyable stay and great value for money.

Lovely friendly B&B the two ladies who own it really nice and you get cake on arrival to.

Exceptional place. The room was clean and comfortable. The hosts were great. They couldn't do enough for us including nice touches such as giving us home made baking. Parking was good too. Great location. Will definitely stay at the Blue Swallow again.

A real home away from home. Within a short walk to Penrith town centre, great rooms and an excellent breakfast. The best thing though is the warm welcome from hosts Karen and Alison.

I stayed at the Blue Swallow for two nights, I arrived a stranger and left a friend. The service and hospitality from both Karen and Alison were exceptional. The room was very clean and modern and good selection on the hospitality tray, good selection at breakfast and all fresh produce My husband says thank you for the home made Scottish tablet it made his day I wish you both every success in the future and will see you both soon.

Cannot praise this lovely guesthouse and its owners highly enough — we have just had a fantastic weekend stay with them, in modern, clean, spacious and comfortable facilities, where nothing was too much trouble at all. Absolutely outstanding value for money and the attention to detail, such as the tablet in the rooms, and Alison taking the trouble to defrost our car this morning just before we set off, means we will be recommending this guest house to all our friends and family and anyone else we encounter. Breakfast was delicious and we’ve even got some homemade flapjack for our journey home. We shall definitely be looking to return for a longer stay in the near future. Thankyou so much once again for having us!

What a gorgeous gem of a place! Very friendly owners, fab breakfast, comfortable clean rooms. Stayed there on Sat night and we received a warm welcome, help with bags up to the rooms and lots of tasty home baking. Karen even gave us some extra flapjack to take away for the guys who were cycling the Coast 2 Coast route the next day upto Allenheads. Hope it continues to do well for you girls — you deserve it x.

Awesome, I was part of a cycling group and the hospitality was tremendous. Loved it from start to finish!

We stayed here for two nights and loved the place. Karen and Alison were excellent hosts and couldn't do enough for us. The guest house is immaculate and the wee touches of home made tablet and baking just make it even more special. Bunty the dog also made us welcome.

Lovely welcome — everything so clean and well presented. Lovely breakfast — freshly cooked. Nothing too much trouble. Would recommend anyone staying there.

It was a very pleasant stay as we were there for work around Cumbria. Has a great homely feel to it which is different to most B&Bs we stay in!

Our coast to coast trip was enhanced by the welcome and attention to detail by Karen and her staff including" Bunty". Nothing was too much trouble and the rooms were spotless, after a hard day in the saddle it was just what was required. Thank you once again for your help and welcoming nature. Breakfast was good with a variety of dishes to suit all. We would recommend anyone to stay at the Blue Swallow.

Home from Home. Stayed just one night but wish I had been staying longer. The rooms and little guest touches were fabulous. Lovely toiletries, immaculately clean bed linen and towels and extremely comfy beds. The owners could not have been more accommodating and friendly. Love it!

We visited for my birthday weekend. We were met with a lovely warm welcome and made to feel at home straight away. Our room was lovely and comfortable with a great hospitality tray with delicious home made tablet.
Penrith is lovely. Full of great gift shops and little cafes. We had a fabulous meal at the Dockray Hall nearby. We would highly recommend the Blue Swallow as nothing was to much trouble to make our stay memorable.

My husband, father in law and I stayed at the Blue Swallow whilst cycling the Coast to Coast. It was wonderful! The location was perfectly central, but we didn't experience any noise from passing traffic. Our hosts were incredibly accommodating, storing our bikes over night, making great recommendations for meals and serving a superb breakfast. The rooms are immaculate. Lovely linen and towels. We could not ask for more! Best wishes.

Top marks! friendly, clean and reasonably priced, highly recommended if visiting Penrith. Spacious room, clean and comfy bed, shower and bathroom top notch. Excellent breakfast, all in all couldn't fault a thing.
