Perfect Yorkshire Puds. Warm welcoming staff. Dog friendly. Central location of Sedgefield village to view the village green & church. Definitely recommend!

Service was really slow and customer service was really bad. We were over charged for our meal and when we pointed it out they refused to change it. We had to escalate to the manager who rectified it straight away but the 10 minute argument prior to this pretty much ruined the whole meal. The food is nice but not good value for money.

My wife and I visited The Pickled Parson for what we hoped would be a good lunch. Unfortunately though, this was to be our first and last visit to this restaurant. The environment was nice, service seemed good at first and my chicken wing starter was excellent. Very flavoursome. The main course followed and I had ordered the Haddock. After a couple of mouthfuls, I realised that there was something wrong with the fish and so discretely informed the waitress that I thought it was “off”. Sure enough, the chef checked it and agreed, saying it was just on the turn, though it should have been fresh as it was described as “Catch of the day”. I was offered another main course but due to the delay this would cause, I opted for a desert instead. When my bill arrived, the fish and chips was still included and I informed the waiter that this must be a mistake as the fish was off and wasn’t fit to eat; I had returned it to the kitchen. The waitress that initially served us said she didn’t have the authority to remove items from the bill as she is only the Supervisor?! She eventually called the owner and got his authority not to charge me. So I wasn’t charged, but it was a spoilt lunch and a spoilt day. I hope I’m not ill later as a result of eating fish that’s turned. Needless to say, we won’t be back!

Highly recommend decor was lovely warm and welcoming staff were really friendly and the food was amazing and all at a reasonable price and ideal if your a dog owner /lover they can join you in the bar too.

The Valentine’s menu was great. Good choice of food and cooked really well. Friendly staff. Would definitely go back.

Wowsa! Great pub, great food ordered the garlic mushroom linguini and its to die for 😍😍 highly recommend! arrived at a busy time — tea time rush so slightly longer wait as expected though for the time of night, didnt much mind, had a couple drinks and a laugh while we waited, pleasant staff, great atmosphere! Will be popping by again soon!

Be prepared for a wait, booked a table for five at six o’clock, 4 adults and child of six. Ordered drinks and had to chase them twice asking where were they, ordered meals and they didn’t arrive until after 10 past 7! Had to ask again where was our meals. When they arrived they had forgotten the child’s meal, which meant another 10 minutes wait. Totally disappointed won’t be going back, they are plenty of other places to eat in Sedgefield.

Lovely place. Nice Staff and Dog Friendly. Had a Sunday Lunch would love to try the standard menu.

Relaxed and friendly atmosphere. We had a ploughmans sharing platter which was very tasty.

Fabulous pub. Staff are so friendly and attentive. Food is a simple concept of sharing platters which are absolutely delicious. Would highly recommend!

We stayed here for 1 night, rooms are stylish and very well decorated in a classic modern style. Staff are very helpful and nothing is too much trouble, the bar is very nice and food was amazing. I would highly recommend a stay here.

Nice place and lovely staff, Sunday lunch was delicious but very expensive for the portion. Two tiny slithers of beef and hardly any veg. Well presented but still hungry on leaving. Just up the portions slightly would have been happy.

I've been there to celebrate my birthday and it was a really nice experience. The food was amazing the staff was very welcoming and friendly and I really enjoyed it! Definitely on the list of go to places for food and drinks. Thank you very much!

Great food, but given the current state of the world, the hygiene was second to none. Sanitizing gel on the bar, and as soon as anyone left the staff were straight over thoroughly cleaning the table. Food and drink great as always!

Lovely food great manager in Matt who is always helpful and attention to detail is second to none well worth a visit.

We were impressed (although slightly amused) by the very enthusiastic but rather inexperienced waiter — A for effort! We liked the decor although the music was a bit loud for us (but then we’re old and deaf! But we like more muted music so we can converse! ) My Asian salad was delicious but I was still hungry after it! (But that meant I could enjoy a sticky toffee pudding as well). The puddings were a bit cold but obviously had been hot because the ice cream had melted. I will go again (this was lunchtime) although I did think it was a bit overpriced. But it’s different, and we wish them luck. Rather a limited choice of food.

Second visit this afternoon. Had a meal on Thursday the day after the pub opened. The food did take a while to come (but hey it has only been open 24 hours and it was really busy, think it caught the kitchen out a bit but we didn’t book either) but was really tasty, good quality and well presented! The service was great and all the staff were really good and enthusiastic. Went again this afternoon for drinks and took the dog, very dog friendly. Staff again really good we managed to get in before the masses after the village Christmas light switch on.
