Lovely relaxing atmosphere and friendly, attentive staff. Coupled with first class food! Highly recommended!

Worst steak I have ever had. Asked for medium it was rare and full of fat. Sent one back and it came back just as bad!

It was superb food was lovely service excellent.

Our first time, we eat out a lot and this is our new favourite, food was absolutely delicious and our server Ava was really great — she’s doing a great job! Loved the rice pudding dessert, it’s my fave and rarely included on a menu, I hope it’s included more ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

It was our first stop on our holiday and it was the perfect hotel! The staff were so lovely and the food was excellent. Our room was great and we will be back when we are in that area, for sure!

Called in for tea tonight and had the BEST pub fish and chips I've ever tasted!
The outdoor seating area is lovely too… but the Fish & Chips!

I can honestly say I’ve never stayed somewhere where we have been so well looked after! All the staff here are amazing, attentive and very friendly! Nothing was too much trouble! Delicious food, stunning location, and quick walk away to get to the train station. Lovely room which was so quiet even on busy evenings and weekend. We were gutted to leave!
Would love to return!

We had takeaway heat at home beef suet pie with peas creamed potatoes and lush rich gravy. Well packed, came with simple instructions. Excellent.

Ordered a valentines meal for takeout and we weren't disappointed. Been here before for sunday lunch and wasnt let down.
£60 for 3 courses and a cheese board and a very descriptive set of instructions for us to enjoy at home.
I want to say thankyou, not only for the amazing food, but the amazing service from enquiring to delivering. (covid safe at the door)
also the added bonus of a bottle of wine
cant wait for you to open properly so we dont have to cook at home.

Had takeout last night for the family — fish and chips and parmos. Was absolutely delicious. Fish cooked to perfection. Yummy yummy yummy!

Stayed here with the family for our mam's 80th Birthday. Booked all 8 rooms. Absolutely brilliant service from start to finish. Food gorgeous. Rooms beautiful. 16 of us and a baby. Nobody had a negative comment for the full weekend. Thank you.

We have been to The Devonport today for Christmas Day lunch. From arrival to departure, it was a fantastic experience. The service was awesome, the food delicious and the atmosphere amazing! We loved every minute and will hopefully be returning for next year’s Christmas Day lunch! Definitely five stars!

Fantastic place to stay, just arrived today to stay overnight, fantastic room, immaculate, great friendly staff and fantastic food, will definitely come and stay again! Don't want to check out tomorrow!

The food here was absolutely divine and very reasonable too. The atmosphere and music playing made the restaurant feel really relaxed.
The staff were amazingly friendly and helped my little girl pick some board games too play. It was lovely to see staff that welcomed children so much, as this isn’t always the case.

Great setting, great food and great service. Had our daughter’s wedding meal here last weekend. Food was excellent as were the staff serving. Special thanks to Jenny for support in preparing for the day and for making sure it all went smoothly.

Dont know what its like to stay overnight. But can highly reccomend the spicy beef salad.

Had a lovely Sunday dinner with leek and potato soup for starters. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Staff where lovely and the interior designer deserves 5 stars too. We'll be back soon.

Stayed a few days before it closed. So it was rather run down. Hopefully it will be much better when it reopens following a big refurbishment.

Sadly, the Devonport hotel is up for sale and is suffering a little through staff cuts and a lack of interest. A new owner with vision could make it a wonderful place again.

Only 1 guy on the bar on Xmas day, but friendly and good atmosphere.

From what has been a great local pub to what is now a shambles and barring (no pun intended) locals of 20 years for speaking the truth of what has happened. No beers for days on end, untrained staff doing the best they can in impossible situations. Avoid until the pub group that owns the place has someone with the place’s best interests at heart…

I am trying to be fair about my rating for the hotel as some things were good and some things appalling. Bed large and comfy, shower hot and powerful, location good. The whole hotel and certainly the room I was in was very tired and dated. Not sure how anyone can rate this as Wifi good as only about one place in the hotel you can get it and that's reception, certainly not in your room, which as a business traveller is a pain. Food was fine and not expensive. They clearly have staffing issues, both from my observations and from what I could over hear being discussed rather loudly! Bill was wrong when I checked out and a week later I'm still waiting for a correct copy to be sent to me via email or post! Not sure I'd go back again.

We enjoyed an afternoon here for a christening party very nice food and good beer too.

Lovely location by the river where our boys collected hundreds of conkers. Pleasant inside but a bit unprepared for lunchtime opening. Food was nice and a fair price, but a bit too buttery for me.

Not a great stay for us… one night … no hot water… no reduction or real apology for this … what can I say.

Lovely overnight stay. We were upgraded for free. Breakfast was delicious full English, location very pretty, good Wi-Fi & clean room, friendly staff. Can't comment on bar or evening meals.

Location was beautiful, staff were pleasant enough but food was disappointing. Visited with my husband for a pub lunch to be told there was only fish and chips available at a cost of £12 per serving or sandwiches. Ordered a roast pork and apple sauce baguette to be told that there were no baguettes. The sandwich was more an apple sauce and pork sandwich served in sliced white bread with frozen bought chips, coleslaw that tasted shop bought and a side salad that tasted of celery.

Full English breakfast was delicious, excellent value for money and exceptionally friendly staff. We arrived late and they were so helpful staying up to get the door for us at 1am. Bed was very soft and clean and there is instant hot chocolate and biscuits available in every room which was such a comforting and cozy touch! Definitely recommended. Only a 12 minute drive from town too!

Went to the Devonport on Good Friday with my girlfriend and 2yr old daughter. Friendly staff and nice atmosphere. Only stayed for a couple of drinks but very pleasant.

Good food and Sunday dinners. Ive never stayed in a room though.

Lovely country hotel set on a quiet location. Staff are friendly and helpful. We stayed for the New Year party and enjoyed the occasion. The room was ok for the one night stay but we have stayed before and had better rooms. The food was very good and the environment welcoming. We enjoyed our stay.

Spent a brilliant New Year's Eve at the Devonport Hotel, A very good place to stay overnight, excellent breakfast and brilliant staff, 3rd time we've spent overnight at the Devonport, and can honestly say it won't be the last,

Visited the Davenport for a family meal. Service was good, all of us welcomed with a friendly smile. Nice atmosphere, cosy and warm. Food was very nice, typical pub grub but very tastey and well presented. Prices were quite reasonable. The Davenport is set in a lovely location, very easily accessible.

Great room awesome staff and I got very drunk happy days lol.
