The room was amazing with a four poster bed evening meal was lovely breakfast was absolutely gorgeous the place is so special, only negative Wi-Fi no good but didn't really matter to me. — in Darlington, Co Durham.

Had a lovely last minute Saturday winter warmer break with the husband and upgraded to the bridal suite! Well wow! Is all I can say! The food and ambiance was truly exceptional and I couldn’t fault the reception or any of the staff! Beautiful grounds and well worth the money! Slept like a baby and had the rest we needed 🥰

Myself and daughter have just had a wonderful one night stay at this beautiful hotel, We have to say that we would highly recommend this place for anyone wanting an Amazingly Warm welcoming and lovely stay, The food was delicious and could not be faulted, The whole staff force were outstanding and made our stay so memorable, So polite and went out of their way to make are stay so special, And have to give a special mention to Jolene … who is amazing at the job she does, Would highly recommended this beautiful hotel to anyone.

Fabulous venue for a stop over or an event, room was really great — comfortable, clean and spacious, evening dinner was fabulous too, highly recommend, staff all very accommodating and friendly :)

Fantastic afternoon tea, there was also a wedding taking place but that didn’t stop 3 members of staff coming to our table to check we were happy, very very nice afternoon tea.

Beautiful place to stay the grounds and castle are amazing the food was nice and it was nice and peaceful sat out in the grounds staff couldn't do enough for us the room was clean we stayed in the castle its self and had amazing time as we were there for my Nephews wedding would recommend having your wedding there was a fab weekend no complaints what's so ever.

What a quite wonderful place with just the best staff you could ask for. Stayed for 2 nights in November and although due to Covid restrictions no drinks or food were allowed to be served, we brought our own and staff supplied cutlery and were just so helpful. Special mention to Jess and Unsal, two of the nicest people you'll meet.

Just back from a one night Dinner bed and breakfast stay at Walworth.
Excellent stay food was very good and breakfast was just right to set you up for the day, such a relaxing place to stay, The staff were very attentive and polite.
Room was spotlessly clean and well presented and bathroom very modern.
We will be staying here again.

Sunday lunch is absolutely amazing! Best around. Good choices for gluten free options too. Staff are very friendly and make you feel welcome, excellent service. We have become regulars every week.

Just got back from our 3rd stay at this beautiful castle every time we come it’s just still as great, really prepared with the covid rules and you feel at ease.

I would recommend the Castle as all the Staff on duty on the night were very helpful. We ate in the restaurant and the food was delicious and all the staff were friendly and very helpful. But and it’s a big but The room was lovely, but the people next door were a group of 4 very noisy people with music and swearing for many hours. We eventually went to reception and decided to go home as we did not want any confrontation with other guests after we complained. We were told that we could not have a refund which I understand if that’s there company policy even if we did not stay and did not have the breakfast we paid extra for, but when I asked for a credit for a room at another time, was told I could have a discount only at a future date. It was not our fault that the neighbours were roudy, but as usual the nice people pay the price.

Just had my 60th Birthday here and the event ran smoothly and the staff very friendly and efficient. Thank you for making it so memorable.

We were here last night, second time here. The whole place is lovely, staff very friendly and welcoming, a bar team member, think she was called Holly, great customer service.

Delightful and peaceful stay from Christmas Eve until Boxing Day. Excellent food throughout and the staff were extremely helpful. The history of the property added to the Christmas ambience and I would highly recommend this hotel to others.

We had the most fantastic stay. The staff was amazing and the food at the restaurant was the best we’ve had in years. The portions are huge. Had a lovely tour of the dungeon. Highly recommended!

We had our wedding here on the 7th august and it was amazing all staff were fantastic and couldn't help us enough. I have to give all my love and gratitude to Rachael who went above and beyond for us. She saved my sanity the morning of the wedding by stepping in when things were going wrong and calmed me down and fixed the issue amazingly. Best wedding events woman on this planet!. Julie on reception is an amazing lady who after speaking to constantly it was a pleasure to have met her. Susan on reception looked after us perfectly and went above and beyond when I had a meltdown. Andrew was a legend who helped us so much and even tho there was some issues with guests he handled it beautifully.
Thankyou so much to everyone who had a part in our special day and made it perfect we will always remember everything you did for us xx.

It's a beautiful building, very clean the food is lovely but the staff make your stay even better they are happy, courteous and confident people who obviously enjoy their job. We would definitely recommend staying, we had car problems after our stay the owners of the castle actually jumped started our car how amazing is that! thank you so much we will be back.

Our first visit for Sunday Carvery. Was lovely. Very impressed with staff accommodating our food allergies. Lovely location too. Will be back and recommend to anyone to visit.

Really good overnight stay. Sunday night dinner was excellent breakfast same again. The food quality and presentation was very good. We treated ourselves to a castle room no ghost this time but still brilliant. All in all a great place.

Had my sons wedding here, excellent all round, staff fantastic, food was amazing and the outside wedding grounds were simply stunning. Highly recommended.

A beautiful place to visit. We called in for coffee on bikes and sat outside in the lovely grounds. There is a nice children's play area too.

My husband and I had our wedding at Walworth Castle on 02/08/2018. The day was perfect with amazing surroundings and staff. Ailsa the wedding co ordinator was fantastic from the booking of the wedding to the day itself. Andy was our master of ceremonies and made sure everything ran smoothly which he did an amazing job. The food was fantastic both day and evening. The staff went out of their way to help when needed, all very friendly and efficient. We really couldn’t have asked for anymore on our big day. It was amazing and we thank you all for making it as special as it was. We’ll see you soon I’m sure (can’t get rid of us that easily).

Fabulous couple and of days spent at The Walworth castle hotel in Darlington. Setting lovely with lots of places to visit. Staff in hotel excellent would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel should you be in the area.

The best hotel we've ever stayed in! The castle is breathtaking and the reception staff are so friendly and helpful — you can see that they really love the castle and genuinely care that guests have an amazing experience. You can even ask to go down into the castle dungeon! Thanks in particular to reception staff Susan, Liam, Julie, Jess and Andy for looking after us so well!

Myself & my husband got married at walworth castle last week & what a day it was. Ailsa is a real credit to the castle, what a wonderful girl, she helped us plan the day & nothing was ever any trouble. Callum looked after us on the day & again he is a credit to the team! I had an image in my head of what I thought everything would look like & reality far exceeded my expectations. We hoped for it to be dry enough to get married outside in lady palmers pavilion & the sun shone all day for us. I genuinely loved every single second of the day & would do it all again tomorrow (if rob would let me! ) xx.

We stayed at Walworth Castle Hotel to celebrate my husband's 40th Birthday weekend. He had no idea where we were going or what was happening. When I booked and gave our list of requirements, I mentioned that every aspect of the weekend was a surprise for my husband and I asked that staff would be discreet when we arrive. We couldn't have hoped for a better place to celebrate. The surroundings were beautiful, the meals were superb, the castle was stunning and the suite we had (King James I Suite) was breathtaking. But the best thing of all was the staff. I realise that people often say how amazing staff were at a particular location. However, we have travelled extensively, and having my own travel agency, I often get feedback from clients on hotels. I can honestly say that there is no hotel in the UK and practically no other hotel in the world that we have stayed in where staff did so much to ensure our stay was as good as it possibly could be. The staff here really care, and that is reflected in their ability to perform their role to the best of their ability. Without exception, every member of staff working this weekend went out if their way to make it special for us. Thus was no simple task considering that they were also hosting a wedding. I would like to say a huge thank you to everyone at Walworth Castle Hotel who worked 11-13 May 2018 for making it one of the most memorable and enjoyable celebrations we have ever had. You are all truly amazing.

Really beautiful hotel with really kind helpful staff and very good breakfast. We loved it so much we have booked again for our wedding anniversary in May.

I stayed at the hotel for 3 days whilst attending a wedding. The were always staff available so you never had to wonder if you would be seen or when. The rooms were a good size with high ceilings and always had hot water. It's rural setting was outstanding. The photo of the fields is the view from the castle and there is nothing to see other than rolling fields as far as the eye can see. The wedding reception was held outside and in good weather, which we had, it was a superb venue.

Lovely hotel and in a beautiful location. Perfect for a romantic getaway. Room very small although glad we booked a castle room not in the annex. Food was lovely and staff were very friendly. Overall I would recommend this hotel.

Great hotel. We had a suite with the bedroom in the turret. Great experience to stay in a castle. Good was excellent only criticism was the shower, not very warm and not pressure.

The perfect wedding venue! Manager Surinda was amazing, he really listened to what we wanted and did everything to make sure our day was perfect. We had many guests who had to travel quite a distance but they all felt relaxed as soon as they reached the hotel and the food was exceptional. Would HIGHLY RECOMMEND Walworth Castle for any special event (especially your wedding)! x.

The castle is more beautiful than the pictures, our room was magnificent. The entire staff went above and beyond our expectations. We totally enjoyed our time there and wished we had scheduled a longer stay.

This hotel looks impressive and our stay was fabulous. So comfortable and the staff are warm and friendly. Our breakfasts and dinners were delicious and the kitchen staff were more than happy to cater to our needs and it felt comfortable to ask for things which weren't in eye sight. We will return to this hotel as it was just a perfect retreat away from the hustle and bustle to experience this beautiful part of the country.

Good location for visiting raby Hunt restaurant and surrounding area. Room was quite small and breakfast was not very nice. The room was warm, contrary to some tiger reviews so no concerns there.

Very pleasant place to visit. 4 of us had a meal. Must say it was nothing to write home about. Very average. In fact we were the only 4 people in eating. Nothing spectacular on the menu same old boring food that you would get in any common café. Just more expensive.

Lovely setting, could do to split the bar and restaurant, and put on a real ale as there is no other pub nearby. Our room was very nice if a little cold but then it's an 800 year old castle.

Had a breakfast here, whilst waiting for birds of prey. The castle looks great in and out, it was set up for a wedding in the centre room. Breakfast was decent, not great… But not complaining. Charged £30 reasonable for this standard of high quality surrounding.

I attended Walworth Castle Hotel as a wedding guest. The facilities were great and so was the food. The drinks were on the expensive side.

This beautiful hotel is extra special! We came here for drinks and dinner for a friend's birthday and I was absolutely blown away with the sheer grandure of the castle! This is the perfect romantic fairytale location for a wedding, proposal, valentine's Day, anniversary, or just a special getaway! I haven't ever had the pleasure of staying anywhere as beautiful as this ever before. This beautiful castle will stay with me for the rest of my life. I'm looking at celebrating my upcoming 30th birthday here.

Went on Sunday for the Carvery and it was delicious. Would recommend to anyone as it was probably cheaper than a Toby Carvery is on a Sunday. Would bare in mind that when we rang to book a table as we were a large group, that you can only book a table between 12-1230, otherwise it's first come first serve.

Beautiful grounds. They have maintained the history of the place. Very helpful staff — they will even show you the dungeon.

Great place to eat with small children. Wonderful playground with sheep grazing and nature walk nearby. The Birds of Prey is a superb attraction — very informative and thrilling to watch.

Went to a family wedding and stayed the weekend from Friday until Sunday the hotel is very clean and comfortable, lovely gardens to relax and walk around. We ate in the restaurant and the food was freshly cooked and well presented. There was a good choice for breakfast. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The wedding was well organized and we had a wonderful and an amazing time. Well done to all the staff at Walworth Castle for making our stay such an amazing weekend. Will definitely stay again and recommend this hotel.

All the staff were very polite and helpful. The room was adequate. It had everything we needed and the bed was very comfortable. It did get extremely hot in the night and with the window barely opening it was hard to cool down. Dinner and breakfast were delicious, although there were a few mix ups at breakfast, even though it wasn't busy at all.

We are an "older" couple who travelled up from the South East and had an absolute nightmare journey. However, it was worth every minute of the 8 hour car trip when we arrived. We would highly recommend this beautiful hotel, not only for it appearance and character but more importantly for the friendly and attentive staff. There is no "stuffy" attitude or feeling at the hotel and yet the service is very good and carried out with a sense of warmth and humour. We had three great nights there for my wife's birthday and were joined on one night by some local friends who would also highly recommend it.

Upgraded to a four poster suite for a very reasonable fee. They whole stay was faultless and would definitely recommend.

Although à beautiful place, and with nice atmosphère for a wedding réception ; felt thé attitude of some members of staff was not as helpful as I would of expected from such a prestigious establishment.

Stayed for a murder mystery night. Was overall well organised and the setting was great. The murder mystery was more hands on that I thought and not a free form visiting rooms or figuring it out for yourself. Food was okay which may have been down to the fact there was a power cut which let down the preparation work.

We came in a bunch of drunken young guys. Left feeling part of the village! Beautiful surroundings.

The bird centre is a beautiful place, staffed by people who clearly love their birds. Very informative and entertaining.

Amazing location and great staff and service.

Went here for the bird of prey centre. Which was one of the best bird days and experiences we have been to. Lots of displays and lots of different birds. Lots of fun for kids and adults.

Nice rural setting. Comfortable rooms, decent food and friendly staff.

Lovely views and easy to find just off the A68. Rooms are nice and keep to the old theme of the castle. There's a couple of activities on site including the small child's play area and the bird of prey show.

Really good hotel and great value just out of Darlington.
