Sat outside in the sunshine enjoying our afternoon tea and champagne. Looking across Bassenthwaite lake to the fells.

Lovely place to stay (with really pretty views too) Wonderful people working there, we were made to feel extremely welcome immediately. Comfy, cosy room with a fantastic shower and a great breakfast the next morning before we set off to explore more.

Had afternoon tea for 2 and it was beautiful. Lovely friendly staff in a lovely setting, highly recommended ☺

Everything so full of garlic we could barely taste anything else. Very up themselves in terms of setting and their view of food quality, but it was nowhere near as special as they think they are. Very weird food combinations and menu was NOT AT ALL like the sample on the website which is much more normal. Not worthy of the two AA rosette that they claim to hold. Thanks for the response. We did in fact ask you about our concerns at the time. You went to see the Chef at least twice for us, to find out about garlic in the dishes, and in the end my wife had to accept "No Starter" then "Fish Pie" from the Bistro menu, as EVERYTHING was full to the brim with Garlic, so don't pretend to me that we kept it a secret from you. We were initially told by our server that in the coach house we were not allowed to select any food from the Bistro menu as "you didn't like chips served in there", which I consider to be "up yourselves" though given that there was no possible choice for non-garlic food off of the main menu; my wife was eventually permitted the Fish Pie because it was a dish not served with chips (she didn't enjoy it at all) and finally, you told us at the table that your new chef had two AA rosettes rather than the one held by the previous chef. Your menu on the day was NOTHING AT ALL like the sample menu on the website and our pre-paid three course meal was in fact only two courses for my wife because of the garlic in everything, and no starter could be offered at all.

Excellent. Rooms well presented and equipped, beautifully clean and modern. The staff are professional and friendly and do a fantastic job at making you feel welcomed. Food and service fantastic, would highly recommend and we will be returning.

We have just returned from ravenstone lodge restaurant, absolutely fantastic food and the staff are very friendly and informative.

A hidden gem. Unique room in a converted barn. Wonderful. Choice of restaurant with lovely view or Bistro in former stables. Good choice on menu. Very friendly and helpful staff.

Lovely place, quiet and peaceful. The room (High Man) was lovely, bed comfy, views amazing. Hotel staff were very helpful, friendly and polite. The Coach House restaurant was lovely and the Stable Bistro is cosy. The food is very good and we enjoyed a meal in both the restaurant and the bistro. The restaurant room is also used for breakfast, it has lovely views and there is a nice selection of breakfast items. They were very accommodating to my pickiness as I don't eat eggs and let me customise my cooked breakfast. Thanks to all for a lovely weekend!

Beautiful location, room was stunning & home made cookies were a beautiful touch, excellent service & very welcoming! En suite was amazing.

Great place to stay, but only if you go for the options above standard double room (the shower is tiny (1m x 1m). The rroms are a bit noisy, you can hear the conversation of anyone bellow/above/next to tou room. Equipment in the rooms is depending which room type you have but all of the have home made biscuits. Showers are all modern. Enough towels and toiletries. Make sure you lock you door as the Housekeeping will not knock when coming to clean after 10 am. The bar is well stocked with loots of options and there is a cosy lounge to have a sip and read something under the souds of classic music and a lovely fireplace (on LPG but still good). The restaurant menu is rather small and priced but with delicious food specially the desert. No chicken options for example.

Charming little hotel. Lovely location a short distance from Lake Bassenwaite. Genuinely friendly proprietor and staff who seemed interested in the experience of their guests.

Nice and clean. Good breakfast included and people was very friendly and helpful. They also have chargers for electric cars!

I booked the Ravenstone Lodge for me and my wife for 2 nights towards the end of August. I received a decent welcome from the staff and given a brief tour around the lodge to explain where breakfast is served and where the restaurant is located. Pros: Secluded location with peace and quiet. Plenty of parking on site. Above average breakfast (bar the lack of bread). Located 10 minutes drive from Keswick. Cons: Almost entire lodge in a dilapidated state and in desperate need of refurbishment. I do not care if it used to be an 18th century stable, I want to live in the comfort that humans deserve and pay for. Room 4 where I stayed (and adjacent) were EXTREMELY creaky no matter where you put your foot. Thin walls so you could hear the other guests snore. Stiff mattress with poky springs so could not sleep comfortably. Very cramped room size and even smaller toilet and bath. Breakfast service was average and somehow the staff seemed to be quite miserly about their bread. They only bought half loaves and they were tiny in size. Initially we were only given a room key and were told we will be provided with a key to the front entrance as it gets locked after 2200hrs. Sadly nobody provided us a second set of keys and we forgot to ask for them when we left for dinner. On our return (around 2230hrs) we found ourselves locked outside the lodge (with a pregnant wife) on a chilly night. Multiple phone calls, no answer.

Me and my other half stayed over at the weekend for two nights, we was deadly impressed with ravenstone lodge! The views was beautiful, the walk down to the lake was beautiful. The hotel was great clean and very friendly! Our hotel room was lovely and very comfortable! We had booked a table in the restaurant on Saturday night and the food was out of this world! We are hoping to go again to the hotel and suggest others do so!

A lovely meal well presented and cooked to perfection. Couldn't have asked for better service from very attentive staff. Overall experience was lovely.

Small hotel with lovely views across the valley. Our room was comfortable and we had the main view from lying in the bed. Staff were friendly, and the terrace and conservatory were good central spaces. The dining area is a little 'hard', but the bistro is more intimate and cosier.

Simple great place to stay at! Unforgettable experience. The owner so kind and lovely. Everyone was so friendly.

Quality, without pretention, and comfortably classy. Lovely location and setting, waking up to sheep and hill views. The staff and owners were very attentive without being intrusive. If you stay here I would definitely recommend eating here. Well interpreted local produce is complimented by a delightful wine cellar and topped off by a comprehensive selection of whisky and gin — all priced to please. The only thing holding me back from 5 stars is the lack of sound proofing between ours and the adjoining room but that definitely won't stop me from returning — what a gem!
