Really lovely here, fantastic customer service! Great coffee/tea/soft drinks and yummy cake. Also their hot food is second to none Lovely atmosphere inside and also great to sit in their outside area. You also don't need to be a guest in their YHA to pop in or even to have breakfast there.

Never stayed in a hostel before but it was fab. Cleaner than most hotels I've stayed in — lovely staff and lovely food — thank you x.

Very modern yha with upscale fixtures and fittings as these hostels go. We only stayed 1 night in a private room. Generally very comfortable however the room was warm even with the window open and I slept on top of the sheets. As seems typical in these places, doors shutting loudly can cut into your sleep. There is no parking belonging to the place. We used on street alongside which is free between 5pm and 9am but in short supply. Would definitely stay here again. Close to the train station and about a mile walk to the historic part of the city.

Well situated and good value if a bit noisy due to a busy road.

Far too small rooms for 4 and 6 people, the ventilation is almost impossible.
The cabinets have no shelves and are therefore useless.
The shower is clogged when used for the first time.
The food was edible.

Staff were really helpful and welcoming. Very genuine connection to their guests. Nice places to relax downstairs. Dorm rooms very very very warm! For summer this was a bit oppressive.

I have been staying in Cambridge for 2 hours continuing my journey by train. I just wanted to have a walk in the city. There is no storage room in train station, I thought, yes, YHA, they will help me for sure with keeping my suitcase. But even YHA cannot understand backpackers (this time with suitcase though) creating artificial bureaucracy.

I am a resident nearby and the noise is incredible, especially during the night. Drunken people shouting around at half past 2, you should keep you guests inside and not on the street. I am going to contact the police or council if that doesn't stop. Outrageous!

No hassle, the staff were really lovely and helpful. In a really convenient spot with lots of facilities that are free to use.

Is in a great position to turn around the city, forward it's nearby the supermarket and the city centre. It's more clean than a Hotel and the staff will not let you miss anything.

Mix of youth hostel and hostel, Central and quiet location. Good for short Trips.

Nice and polite staff. Close to train station and small walk to centre. Decent breakfast and other food options in kantine. Rooms are big, beds were great. Locker is very big (bring your own lock). Only thing that I would prefer is a big washroom to get ready in the morning. Single shower was little small. Know one had to get ready whilst everyone else was asleep, since the sink was in the room (blow drying hair, brushing teeth). But I guess this also has benefits and I personally wasnt really bothered by this with my earplugs.

Location of hostel is just 10 minutes walk from bus stop and few mins more for punting and university. YHA Cambridge has maintained their rooms cleaned and in excellent condition. Staff was good. Bathrooms were cleaned but one I took shower was having some lighting problems. Hence 4 star. Overall my experience was great.

Great hostel, great place to stay to visit Cambridge. Very good value. Only thing I would say is that it is a bit of a walk to the centre; it's not as central as if you stay in one of the colleges.

It was a great stay with comfy beds and nice service. The breakfast was awesome too.

Was in recently, shall be here for a few days over xmas, cant wait, 1st class hostel, very mod/xtra friendly staff, great location and the place to be to meet other travellers xmas meal for sure.

Have stayed as an overnight guests. Like most youth hostels, bunk rooms with communal facilities. Has recently been refurbished. Food is also very good although breakfast finishes too early : (

YHA was great. Beautiful and clean. There are quiet a few people per bathroom but it was great. 5 stars.

I liked the cleanliness of the whole place. Staff were professional and the young tall blonde chef at breakfast was friendly and bothered to ask about why I was visiting. Deputy manager seemed very calm and polite even when queues were long. I liked the information on the walls. Up to date and useful. Overall, I would recommend to any traveller for a weekend away. As an experienced hostel user, offering earplugs for a small fee or free would improve the sleep experience. Unfortunately, I happened to have two loud snorers in my dorm. Just a small suggestion as this is offered in one other hostel in London.

The hostel is really satisfactory in terms of value for money. The breakfast is very good and the dinner is satisfactory. The rooms are basic but adequately equipped and really clean.

So I stayed here for a couple days 18-20 August. I've never stayed in a YHA ever and I was pleasantly surprised. Aside from obvious wear and tear and needing a lick of paint in corridoors… the rooms were clean and beds comfy albeit I'm 6'3" so I struggled with length of bed a bit. Toilets and showers were fine too. If all you need is a pit stop after a long day out I would recommend it. I'd probably consider one again. I was part of a large group though, so I knew my room mates. Not too sure how I'd feel with starngers (I know that's the idea). Had breakfast on last morning and that was okay for the money. Bar is well stocked and has a good variety. Staff are very happy and attentive. Towels are £2 to hire.

Very clean and a good place to spend a few days. The staff was a bit too quick to call me down for playing a video on my phone, when there was no one in the room but me, and they are very serious about not bringing alcohol in from outside.

It has good facilities and friendly staff. Beds are confortable and the food is tasty, well the sausages not so much but is a really great value for the money as you get a wide range of food including fruits!
Very clean place to stay and provides lockers which you can use on the last day even after checking out! Which is always a plus.
If I visit Cambridge again I will definitely be staying here :) Well done staff! I almost forgot to say, the only thing missing was a place to hang your towel after taking a shower lol.

People at YHA were very friendly. Wifi is aviable, but only in social areas and not in the rooms. Toilets and showers are outside the rooms also. Everything is clean.

The people at the front desk were super helpful and got me settled in pretty quickly. The beds were great, washrooms were clean, and the breakfast (which you had to pay extra for) had varity.

Clean, quiet, safe, friendly staff, and its cheap. There's Wi-Fi, a safe beside the bed, a bar and cafe. What else can you ask for? The YHA is a fine place to stay.

The rooms were clean and nice. Very helpful and friendly staff. The reception does have some coupons, that might be useful. The only concern I have is that everything is charged extra.

Wow what a hidden gem the cafe/bar at the yha in Cambridge is. I spotted while waiting to meet a friend who was delayed. Very good value and tasty coffee served in a clean comfortable stylish environment. I would highly recommend it. Its a bit off the beaten track track but worth a visit.

The YHA had a great location in Cambridge for inexpensive stays, as I was visiting from the U. S. The food was great, especially the breakfast, but the beds left a little to desire, but there is only so much you can do at that price point.

Convenient, clean and nice.

The accommodations were very nice. However, we were staying as a part of a larger college study abroad group of about 30. Because of this we were refused service in the attached restaurant when five of us went down to get some dinner when there was a total of maybe ten others on the whole restaurant bone of them eating out ordering food on the premise of we were part of "the group" and they only had one cook. We were also denied the ability to use the self service kitchen provided for guests. This did not make sense. We were paying to stay there too but they apparently didn't like having such a large group so they openly refused us certain aspects of their establishment that should have been included in our price. Their excuse was that it was "policy" with such a large group. I'm not sure where this policy comes from.

The rooms are clean and cosy. The bathroom and showers are excellent. The place is very near the train station and near all restaurants in Cambridge. I would come back for sure.

Had a pleasant stay. Exactly what you want from a hostel. Clean, quiet rooms, and each bed had its own reading light and electrical outlet. The front desk staff were helpful and friendly.

A fantastic, friendly hostel. Lovely staff, very comfortable beds, immaculately clean, and everything on site you could wish for: food, drink, internet if you need it (or free Wi-Fi if you take your own device), and only about 8 minutes' walk form the train station. A nice quiet residential location, but be prepared for over a mile's walk to the City centre!

Fantastic place to stay! Short walk to Cambridge center. With a relaxing atmosphere and the nicest staff! Emily is awesometastic and Ian is a pure gentleman the rest of the team are very nice, fun and really helpful. The hostel is always spotlessly clean, with great food as well as a self catering kitchen. YHA is just a short walk to the train. It has all the amenities you could need. I highly recommend anyone to stay at YHA Cambridge. :D.

I like Cambridge Youth Hostel, hence the FIVE stars. I have stayed a few nights there now, I have used the self catering and I have slept well. There is a nice friendly and relaxed atmosphere in and around the reception area. I have read that some have had some bad experiences sadly. Mine have been great. Thank you Cambridge YHA.

This hostel deserves negative stars. I booked for this hostel and when I arrived to cambridge I realised it was closed, under refurbishment. I phoned them and after 30 minutes waiting they told me that they have transferred me to another hostel (yha hostel) wich was not closed but was like 50 miles far. No money refound. Feel like you have been scammed. Dont ever go there.
