Budget accommodation with a budget feel. Tea and coffee facilities are communal and not in the room. Blanket and fleece cover on bed, no duvet. Fleece would be very heavy to clean between each guest.

Lovely Cosy Wee Place run by a nice family.

Close to where I needed to be a several food places. My room was as expected and service was great.

Stayed for two nights on a business trip. Friendly and laid back staff. Clean room. Didn't get time to try the breakfast but smelled lovely in the morning. Reasonable prices. Would stay again.

The room was very clean and tidy the toilet was well presented and in good condition and Order very warm environment atmosphere was good for relaxing in.

Hated it my experience. Rude staff, owner drove me out, threaten to call the police and I asked for refund he refused. Worst than bed and breadfast in the jungle.

Spent the night and was very happy with the service especially the power shower, excellent value for money, will recommend to anyone, thanks for the great service Shane.

I booked double room of this lodge for 2 nights, since I need to move in another place in 2 days and was not having option except book a cheap hotel, but I was not aware owner of this lodge is cheap and cheater, Actually I was having 6-7 bags since I moved in to this country. He took benefit of my less knowledge of rules and regulations about the country. He did not let me in the hotel I was having my family (Partner and my only kid) with me and it was raining. He said I can’t allow you to in the hotel because you have a lot of luggage (I checked the website of this lodge not luggage limit was mentioning anywhere), In any case I was not having any option at that time so he took the benefit of the time and asked me to stay but he will charge £75/night while when I booked it was £32/Night. Even after paying £75/ night he kept some of our luggage in open (leaky roof) area where rain spoiled some of our stuff. Really fraud/cheater person. Hope after reading this review no one in future will get cheated by this person. I am rating this lodge zero because of the fraud happened to me.

It seems that I will be the first Spanish-speaking your opinion of this place. We stayed for three nights. You feel at home: comfortable bed, toilet and shower clean, soft towels, if you don't have an adapter for a phone charger, for example, there the staff will leave. Then, you have a rear garden to be able to smoke, relax and if you want to have your own privacy. In the common living room you have your own fridge to keep your refreshments, a coffee if you fancy a coffee, a kitchen if you fancy cooking (no oven) and when you wake up desayunas hot, served breakfast for the staff. I recommend it to all those people who are passing by, couples take a romantic weekend and to the general public. Yes, the capital is 20 to 30 minutes on the train and with regard to the price of the transport you can leave something that expensive compared to Spain. If you stay there, to move from the train and bus stations you need to take the bus 4, 58 or 78 and stop near a BP petrol station in FarmHam Rd in or if you want to save you have to walk about 2 miles (just over 3 km). From London to get to Slough, you need to get to London Paddington Station (by metro at the stop Paddinton) and take the train in the direction of Oxford and stop at your first stop, which is Slough.

Stayed here on Thursday 10th May 2012. On arrival was very shocked to find guest house was in the middle of a residentual street and not amoungst other guest houses. Staff were friendly on arrival and showed us to our room which was on the ground floor at the front of the building. All windows in room were open on arrival even though it was a damp, chilly day. When we closed the windows we discovered why they had been left open, the room spelt strongly of cat pee, even though we saw no evidence of a cat. The room was ok, although there were no tea making facilities in the room. These could be made in the guest lounge which is fine but not when you are still awake at 3am after sleeping on what can only be discribed as pillows made of cerment! There was no duvets but an old looking blanket on the bed. Sheets were clean and the heating worked in room. Curtains were too short for the window and so as soon as it started to get light outside it woke us up. The TV channels were all over the place and although you dont always stay in your room to watch tv, given there is nothing else to do at night you dont really want to hunt around every channel trying to find BBC1! The bathroom and shower were good with plenty of clean towels although we did have to hold down the flush on toilet for it to actulally flush. The breakfast was nothing special, cheap sausages with no taste, mugs of tea/coffee rather than pots and cups. Hard fried eggs that tasted of oil cooked in and bacon well done.

We stayed 2 days for a friend's wedding and were rather pleased with the price and what you get for it. It is true that a restaurant is not nearby but the staff recommended a really nice pub, The Duke's Head, some 15 minutes walk from there and it was really worth it. The room and the bed were adequate, we slept well, everything was clean, nothing remarkable to say here. Also the breakfast was delicious and served to us by a thoughtful and caring owner.

I didn't want to write a good review from a selfish point of view, as it may make the Guest House too popular and it would hard for me to find a vacancy there. However, I do believe in giving credit where it is due. From the moment you are welcomed by the friendly, helpful and caring on-site manager to the owner waiting on your breakfast table, you cannot otherwise believe that all who work here actually do care about your time here. The breakfast chef cooks the best scrambled eggs I have ever had in over 20 years of staying in all kinds of accommodation. The breakfast menu is very comprehensive, tastes so good, is well presented and served, that it is easy to eat too much. The rooms are adequately equipped, comfortable and serviced to a high standard every day. Bedding is always well made (no quilts thrown over your bed here), towels freshly laundered and neatly folded, daily. The place is well heated in the winter and has a lovely large garden to enjoy in the summer. On the ground floor, there is a useful kitchenette, dining and sitting area for guests to use, with plenty of tea, coffee and milk freely available.
