No TV reception, noisy seagulls outside window that carried on making noise all through the night. Creaky corridor outside our room guests could be heard going to and from their rooms and a firedoor that was incorrectly adjusted and slammed shut at 12.34 am, 1.12 am and 2.30 am restful sleep not and all for 85 quid what a micky take. Oh and supposed to be 5 star hilarious.

Receptionist was very pleasant checked in very quickly no hassle. Room very clean and spacious. Ideal location. Highly recommended.

Very friendly staff and comfortable surroundings lovely breakfast and perfect position on the promenade. Highly recommended for everyone.

Visited a family member that stayed here. They said the hotel was very clean and the staff were friendly. The room had a bit of a 'dated' feel but it was comfortable and did the job for a short stay.

Traditional seaside hotel. Colossal and rackety with an odd assortment of in room facilities, but clean, comfortable, and friendly. I'd stay again.

Great location on the sea front, the room was large with comfortable beds, sofa and lots of draw and wardrobe space. Best of all a great view from the windows especially at sunset Photos from room windows.

Great location. There is nothing royal in this hotel anymore. It used to be Aberystwyths premier hotel. Needs a major facelift inside. Peeling wallpaper and damp patches on the bedtoom wall. They still use blankets on the bed.

Fantastic room… After we asked for a change. We got room 5 which was not an acceptable one, was dark and sad looking. After we swapped to room 24 however it was fantastic. Experience will really depend on what room you get.

A bit dated but staff were great, and what a view to watch the sun go down.

Dated hotel and Wi-Fi does not reach the conference room. Very small car park to rear. Gets its stars for its beach front location.

Overlooks the waterfront promenade, and right in the city center. The hotel is very clean and it is very clean.

Drinks are nice and a reasonable price, but it can get very busy.

Lovely views of the sea. Good tea & coffee with complimentary biscuits.

The hotel was very well presented and looked very modern. The staff were very friendly and really do go above and beyond for their customers. The prices are slightly high £2 for 1 cup of tea considering a tea bag is a few pence. But it's the price expected at such venues. Overall it's a very nice place.

Friendly staff breakfast very good, rooms are being decorated, will be excellent when all is finished.

Tried to phone now 3 times so far today, no one is answering, it says on there website there is a 24 hour reception service, it doesn't look like there is no one on reception, they must lose so much custom through unanswered calls.

Lynne 28 march 2012 Was visiting Aberystwyth to attend W. I Conference. I found the staff very friendly and polite, the was nice and clean the bed was very comfortable so much so I over slpt and nearly missed breakfast. Talking about food it was very nice.
