The location and the view are fantastic. Cons:
I was a bit disappointed with the cleanliness of the room. Hair left in the shower, sticky stuff under the tables and chairs. Food residue on the fridge and the air vents haven’t been cleaned in years. I just expected a bit more.

Beautiful place, wonderful views.

Wry nice experience. Tough getting service on units due to the private ownership of each unit but you can’t let that get in the way of a lovely experience in whole. Experience all Hawaii has to offer as one of gods great wonders.

Great location with a beautiful view.

Loved our stay at Kona Reef Resort! We had an ocean front room with beautiful views, I was so impressed that the kitchen was fully stocked with dishes, pots and pans and just about everything a normal kitchen would have (which really helped since we were there for two weeks) and that there was even beach chairs, snorkeling gear and beach toys. The people that meet ever night by the pool where so welcoming and friendly and we rushed back every night to see the blowing their conch shells at sunset, so magical!

Great location peaceful and comfortable!

Great location right near the beach. We stayed in b14 and had a great view of the ocean. People were doing yoga in the morning whilst we were enjoying breakfast with a view. After staying mainly in hotels in the previous section of the trip we were so happy to have a living room and a proper kitchen. We could also do laundry which is great half way into a 3 1/2 week trip. There was one complimentary laundry soap but we actually just bought some From Safeway was we had more than 1 load to do. We also bought toilet paper as reading a review from someone else gave me the impression there wouldn’t be any, but we were surprising to find there was toilet paper and shower gels and things. The apartment was clean but there was this old smell a little bit but you get used to it, I guess beach apartments tend to have a damp smell and it wasn’t so strong or bad. The apartment was clean and fully stocked. Annoying part was carrying our luggage down the stairs as the lift only stop on between floors. Also no actual reception desk. All down over phone. We never saw anyone. Last point was that after the cost I was surprised that an additional 150 USD cleaning fee was also added. Surely this can be included in the price?

I did not have high expectations, and thus am glad. I did not realize that it was such self serve, and had anticipated at least some service. When called, I did manage to receive some necessary household items such as toilet paper and laundry soap, as I had to do my own sheets if I wanted them done during my 9 night stay. They only service before and after arrival. Great location, nice grounds, decent pool. Clean but dated units, depending on individual owners. Easy walking distance to retaurnts and some shopping. Quiet and relaxing.

One of the most breathtaking most amazing places I've stayed at of everywhere I've been. My room overlooked the water so close I could drop something in it. It's a very quiet low key place. I slept to the waves nightly, had a big bed and a big room with all the amenities I needed with a great kitchen and an even better patio! I'll stay here every trip and am coming back to it this year. And the prices are great for how amazing of a place you get. Just a walk from the town as well.

B07 is an absolutely amazing room direct access to the beach. This is my 6th time here an I never wanna stay anywhere else. My props to the Anderson's for an amazing vacation condo!

Very nice place, right on the beach. Our unit, B27, is a second floor one bed unit, with a full kitchen. It was clean, neat, well stocked. It's located at the south end of Kailua.

This place is a dump. Rinky dinky. There is no front desk so no one to speak to face to face. The first room we had was musty/moldy smelling. We called and asked for a different room. After several calls and requests (to inept and unproffessional personnel) we were moved to an incredibly dirty room. I believe they had just waxed the floors — right over the dirt! To close the doors to the W/D dryer there was a piece of duct tape. The three lamps in the living area did not work. The curtains to the balcony sliding doors wouldn't close so we had to put a chair in front to hold them closed. Did I mention dirty? OMGosh… We found a wonderful place down the road. Called to cancel at the dump. Had to call a different number to speak with Phillipe to get a refund. Of course he was busy and has not returned our call. Had to start a dispute with the credit card company. I cannot empathize enough… DON'T STAY HERE.

Great location, right on Honl's beach. 10 minute walk to Kailua. A little outdated (room), privately owned. Nice pool with great BBQ & jacuzzi. Very friendly staff. This hotel does not offer resort style amenities. It is a fully stocked condo with full kitchen, washer & dryer.

We loved the million dollar view from our condo F22. The lady who maintained the pool area did a FANTASTIC job. Everything was so neat and clean. The grounds were also very neat and clean. The condo is in need of updates and in depth cleaning. The air conditioner in the bedroom did not work. The desk clerk came to the room 3 or 4 times plus maintenance once. It would run for about 5 minutes and stop so we gave up. The toilet paper holder was loose so we kept the roll on the vanity. Towel bars were loose. The tile needs to be replaced throughout. The knives in the butcher block had food stuck to them. The only time we could use the lanai was if we turned off the a/c in the living room because the exhaust fan was on the outside wall on the lanai. The location was great and close to shops and some restaurants. Nothing was so bad that it ruined our vacation but things do need to be addressed. If we were to return to Kona we probably would stay there again if things have been fixed.

Awesome hotel, we got a really good deal on our place a 1 bedroom 1 bathroom balcony hotel with an ocean view for $100/night. The only bad thing I have to say about this place is that the AC unit was broken in our hotel, though the clear breezeway from the back door to the front door (with locking gate) was enough to flush the hot air out. Beautiful hotel, stocked cupboards and drawers in the kitchen, sturdy futon *if you know what I mean*, haha. You'll love it.

This was our home away from home in Kona. I really can't say enough good things about it. I think our room was newly remodeled. It had flagstone floor, carved wood furnishings, glass-fronted cabinets; it was RIGHT on the shore. We would open the patio door and listen to the waves as we cooked. Comprehensive kitchen cookware including multiple sets of measuring cups/spoons. Washer/dryer. VERY comfortable bed. Beautiful furnishings everywhere. HIGHLY recommended.

You should let people know that children are not welcome. The residents there are worse then the Gestapo. Making sure the pool rules were followed. No fun allowed. One old women cursed at my wife with the children there! We may return there someday. But not with children! A resident yelled at us for making noise before 8am. It was 7:55 just rediculous.
