Location is great. Room is big. But it is old. Inside room is clean but why keep the shower's hardware so old?

Room conditions aren't exactly excellent but for the price it's good. Location is great with a 2 minute walk to the beach. Relatively sunny the entire time. Royal Luau is next door. Maintenance and customer service was great. Side note: the store on the resort is very expensive and they get very uptight about returns so beware. Parking is additional $15/day. All in all nothing fancy but a good experience.

Beautiful Views! Rooms need to be upgraded pronto! But Buffet was bomb, waitress was awesome! So I guess service makes up for the hotel condition.

Felt clean. Sinks and shower drain were not draining properly. There is a $15 parking fee that you can’t avoid, really. We spent 20 minutes searching for our room because it’s just a bit confusing.

Clean rooms, beautiful view. The view from our room was right on the ocean. We could watch the sunset every night. The beach was only steps from our room and the pools were just a few more steps south. Overall, everything was perfect. Beautiful vacation spot.

Pros Great location — part of a small group of properties in the middle of kaanapali beach, and the building is very close to the sand. Friendly staff — just great people all around Beach Bar — can't go wrong with a bar basically on the beach. Good happy hour too! Restaurant on site and others nearby. Amenities — shuffle board, bocce ball, 2 pools, hot tub. I don't actually know the full list. Services Luau on the property. Cons Old building that really shows the difficulty of keeping up with a structure in a tropical environment. The smell of mold and mildew really hits you. The pools are very basic black bottom rectangles that show some age, and when I was there in February they were pretty cold. Overall it's got a bit going for it, but I just think all around the price for what your getting is a bit out of whack in the area, so it seems relative for the area. Kaanapali Beach is a beautiful beach, but I don't think it's worth the price you're going to have to pay to stay there.

Best place ever! We love the ocean inn, its quiet and beautiful! Hotel staff are wonderful. The pools and ocean are right at your feet!

We had an oceanview room, it was incredible! The facilities were slightly dated but it was awesome using the Royal Lahaina pools and walking to the beach.

Part of the Royal Lahaina Resort is a great opportunity at affordable prices that lets you enjoy all the services of the resort and in a unique ocean front location. Very good.

This is kind of an older motel on the grounds of the royal Lahaina resort. The motel itself is kind of damp and loud (right next to the nightly luau) but was fine for us who were on a budget and didn't need a really fancy room. It still had a fridge and TV and decent shower, etc. The best part is that you can stay for much cheaper and still enjoy all the amenities of the resort which was great. We got the deal with the breakfast buffet and rental car, which was basically like not having to pay for the rental car. The buffet was nice too. I liked just being able to wake up, not have to worry about what to eat, and get a good start to the day. I would recommend it if you want to stay at a resort but save a lot of money!

Deposit not returned yet I paid 70$ for the deposit mire than a month ago. It is not cancelled. I complained through Agoda and offical website-introduced email. Agoda chat replied that he or she would foward to the manager, but no report to me yet. The email is not written either. Plus, it dose not have enough parking lot that charges for the service. 11pm no parking availabe, so I parked to Valet parking only because it was late and Valet parking was unavailable at the time and because I was going to leave earlier than 6 am.

The rooms are not very modern and a bit rough. The women in the reception was very arrogant and didn't say hello or have a nice stay or something liked that. Pay $50 more for any other hotel and you will be more satisfied… that's my advice.

It is an dependance of the Royal Lahaina. The structure itself is very basic and quite dated. Spacious rooms, comfortable beds, clean bathroom.
The rooms sold as sea view are actually lateral (so to see it you have to protrude from the terrace). Directly on the sea. Reception, restaurant and other services at Royal Lahaina. Parking Fee (council with Vallet for USD 20 per GG — otherwise cmq are $15). Buffet breakfast included.

Place is good for the price, it's not no Hilton but it gets the job done, beds were comfy A/C during the day Is struggling to maintain but who wants to spend the day in a hotel when you are in Hawaii, beach access was amazing only a few mins away the resort it's self is beautiful plenty of pools, tennis courts, hot tub, bars etc, FYI this place does not have an elevator but when I checked in there was a guy helping me out the stairs did no bother me, but overall it's a great place would recommend to anyone else.

The room was clean and very spacious for my husband and I. It does need abit of renovating mainly the timber work outside the verandah but if your not spending alot of time in the room it's good enough. You don't notice any issues with the maintenance in the room unless your picky and want luxury living than this wouldn't be for you. All that you require is available and the workers are very helpful. Would definitely consider booking here again. Close to shops and beaches so it was perfect for me.

So far so good. I with there was a better way to receive travelers who left the mainland on a morning flight and got here without an ability to check in until later. Also, friend got an ocean view room and was very disappointed.

A star I forgive for the position. We got the worst room in the whole Resort. Room 1501 has a connecting door to room 1503. You can hear everything from the entertainment, TV, toilet activities and other Loud. Every Morning we were m 5.30 at awakened and had to us from the next room, the news to hear that. Our Door knock was ignored. The complaint was rejected with a "sorry". Every day the waiting Luau guests under the balcony. A cooling unit ran continuously. The ice machine is facing and has been used actively. We have allowed us to use the large Parking lot because it was on the small Parking lot is no place. The Parking police issued an immediate warning. If I had known, I would have taken the vehicle back to the room. At the time of departure to 5.00 the lady at the front Desk was able to print the invoice. It was still too early. In addition, they calculated a 10 $ too much for Parking fees. You had to count the days with the help of the hands together. What a poor testimony. Never again!

Best place on the coast! Full use of resort at reduced costs. Lots to do nearby, Black rock awesome. Beach walk great viewing. Highly recommended.

Room smelled bad, like mold, not sure if the room was cleaned before me or not, phone wasnt working room didn't get serviced so after a long day out on a boat I come back and have to sit and wait for them to service it all.

The hotel is beautiful… the beach in front of the hotel is amazing. Pools are refreshing and everything there is really good. I had a room with a view to the ocean where I could see the sunset every night. Just be careful if you are located close to the nightly show… you will heard some loud music until late. We didn't reserve anything from the hotel. We made all reservations for tours outside and it was great with good deals. The hotel is highly recommended.

For the price great place to stay, with some beautiful views of the sea. The Hotel was able to in the short term, change rooms with Kingsizebed in one double bed at no extra charge. Self Parking costs per night to $ 10. Every day the maid changed the towels, the beds made and the coffee refilled. We had to run for about 20 meters from the room to the beach and 30 meters to the Fitness room (everything you need). In addition, there are in the Hotel grounds, a Luau Show.

Nice resort with great beach front location. Decent rooms. We had a partial ocean view and a lovely time hanging out on our patio. They also have three pools and a pool bar which seems very civilized. Pretty close to a good snorkeling and savings dive site too.

Arrived and was told room was ready the maid had the door open & also said it was ready. The shower curtain was broken so my hubby fixed it the bathroom floors were filthy so I told her and she said I have to finish the room next door 1st… so I guess the room was half done. The showers are so molded old wood molded tile everywhere and the room smelled terrible of humidity and mold. Even the pillows and bedding stank. The worst place I've ever stayed… it's like a cheap motel… worse place ever! I checked out after 1 night.

Staying from 19-26 of February we are on the second floor with a "garden" veiw which basically means we are looking at a wall of ferns that they haven't trimmed. The bathroom is a closet with a drop ceiling that is not properly fit. The paint on the room and bathroom is peeling and even though they are not smoking rooms I can still smell smoke residue from the paint from 1980 which is what the room looks like it was designed and furnished in. The beds are cool spring mattresses they acutually creak and make noise when you lay on them. We found multiple cockroaches on the floor and bathroom. And even though they say you get free Wi-Fi none of our 4 person party could get a strong enough signal without going to the Royal Lahaina which is on the same property and owns the ocean inn. My advice do not stay here.

So you pull up to this beautiful beach resort and you know something is wrong. You know you booked a 2.5 star and this had to be a min of 4.! You go in and ask the receptionist if this is the right place and she smiles and advises you that you are in the right place. You check in and are handed a map. Now the hard part starts. Where is this building? No signs. You wander into the adjacent property.? Receptionist rolls her eyes and redirects you. There nestled in between these gorgeous properties is what you would consider a dump. Maybe I missed it, but there no signs with the building name or room number. Rooms — OLD. Ummm. Really old. I'd say much older than your average red roof inn. Thank goodness it's only for one night.

I would call this inn "stinky". The rooms smelled of mold. When I told the front desk about it, they said thats how it is. Really, "thats how it is" is the response. I called my credit card company to cancel the reservation but they were unable to. They offered me 2 other rooms in the same building. One room smelled of chlorine and the other hand a broken door (and yes, no windows in the room). The room I booked at this inn had The view of the hotel's kitchen alley from where the Luau was visible. Some people on tripadvisor have greatly appreciated the fact that they were happy to see the Luau for free from these stinking rooms and thats what they liked about the room. Their choice. I wouldnt stay in a room which has no bath tubs, smells bad and feels like an outhouse for servants. The photos on tripadvisor posted by Kanapaali Ocean Inn is actually of Royal Lahaina (since the inn is on the same property as the hotel, they chose to post hotel's photo and not of their actual property). Good thing about this place is it proximity to sea. At the end, I upgraded my room to one of the Royal Lahaina's cottage rooms. I would never again stay here.

Stayed in June 2014. Worst place I've ever stayed at. The room had tons of various bugs and trails of ants. When I was closing the sliding door lizard fell on my head! On the second day of our stay we found a note that they will fumigate entire Inn due to bugs and asked us to gather our belonging in one spot and put away all of our food because of the hazardous chemicals they will use. Shower didn't have a ceiling but instead it was covered with a plastic wrap that was hanging down and looked like it was about to pop any second. Overall worst experience ever! Old, smelly furniture, with very old carpet. This place is a motel not Inn. I don't know why they say it is "Inn" that is not true and very misleading. Stay away.

Stayed in December 2013 during family vacation. The previous visitors hair was still on the shower walls, shower tiles were cracking and there were ants/small bugs around the bathroom counter. Air conditioner barely worked and the beds were unsupportive. No Wi-Fi. No laundry. I assumed my parents' room was just as bad because they said it was cheap but apparently theirs was much better. And then I found out it was $200 a night. We had already moved to our next state park exploration. Very disappointed.

We stayed here in January 2012. I am surprised at the reviews. I thought this was one of the worst, most run down places I have stayed at. As we walked down the path to the stairs to our room, we passed many papered-over windows and broken blinds on the lower floor. When we got to our room, the balcony had a sign that said not to lean on it and you could see why — it wasn't attached at the corners. The ceiling tiling was cut poorly in our top floor ocean view room that left holes into the ceiling that also had a bunch of water stains on it. The carpets were sticky and the bed was hard. One thing I can't argue? The location right on the beach. View was truly spectacular and you are literally 100 feet from the water. If location near the beach is important, I can't find fault. If a quality, comfortable room is important, this isn't it.
