Great hotel would stay again. Great location I was very disappointed in room cleaning service. Did not restock refrigerator as promised, did not change sheets, just put towels and did not clean bathroom. I finally for two nights just put on door they didnt have to clean.

Fantastic staff made me feel welcome and always had time for a chat. I stayed here two weeks and didn't have one issue comfortable and most importantly always clean. The happy hour cocktails and free beer were a bonus and all local as well. Definitely recommend the Heathman's.

Incredible. Valet parking, pets are welcomed and loved. Rooms are beautiful. Architecture is exquisite. Unlike any hotel I've ever visited. From the doorman dresses as a doorman to the towels in the bathroom. This place is sublime. It's historic and lovely. Beautiful floors, walls, rugs, and carpets. Every detail is measured and deliberate. I had a beautiful experience here, you will too. Definitely worth every penny. Oh, one more thing. I suffer from horrible back pain. When I awoke from sleeping in their beautiful bed I felt fantastic.

I really enjoyed our stay, from the time we pulled up all the staff helped us get situated. All of the great amenities that they offer are awesome. The room was very clean and comfortable. I had only one issue, we ordered a late night snack that didn't come the way we ordered it. We ended up not liking it too much. The service was prompt and came on a convient platter with ice water which was awesome. The following morning the manager Daryn checked to see how the stay was, and I mentioned the issue. He removed the charge of the service which is more than I was hoping for! The staff and service at the hotel was the best we've had in a long time. I highly recommend staying here if you're visiting the Portland area.

As one would expect, the rooms do not come cheap. However, it was a very nice room; the staff were pleasant; and we got a good night's sleep. In a nice area of town within walking distance of several shops, a concert hall, and as in the rest of Portland, multiple tasty restaurants.

The accommodations are great. The hotel is well taken care of and the location is great. The restaurant has a very nice selection but if seafood isn't what you are looking for there are plenty of great options within a few blocks. We will normally stay here when we find a reason to visit Portland.

Very good looking place with an upscale vibe and safe atmosphere. TV was huge, pretty good courtesy happy hour drinks, and friendly staff. Had breakfast downstairs the morning after and it was fantastic. Valet parking was astronomically priced at over $45/night, the main lounge was closed for renovations, and they were doing water pipe maintenance overnight that meant our room had no running water from 11p-6a (thankfully we didn't need to get up and running too quickly in the morning). The noise bleed into our room was atrocious. Another guest was in an adjoining room, and we could hear through it clearly even though the door between was fully shut. It's preposterous to rent a room for over $200 and be woken up by your neighbor's alarm clock. I wouldn't stay again, but I might visit the restaurant. There are better places to spend the night.

We only stayed 1 night but I would definitely come again. They're at the tail end of their renovation so the rooms have been updated, the lobby is beautiful and they added more amenities. When we arrived we were welcomed with a free beer and every day from 5-6 pm they have a free cocktail tasting using a locally made spirit. There's also a bar and restaurant downstairs that's very trendy, great food and clever drinks.

Great hotel. Very friendly staff and clean rooms. Having the pocket doors to divide the living room and bedroom is very convenient when traveling with a toddler. Great location close to pioneer square.

Rooms were small; the bathroom comically so. But they were renovated. It's in a good location in town close to the Max and food from restaurant was excellent.

Love the hotel. One of the best that I've stayed in. The gym is updated, the rooms are new and the customer service is outstanding. Highly recommend this hotel. It made our anniversary so much better.

I stayed at the Heathman in the fall of 2017 and it was eh. The walls are thin, you can hear the nearby room doors close. Please oh please the sounds of doors slamming! There was a feature they offered with so many nights you get a bar credit if you didn't utilize house keeping. I was still charged regardless of my following their promo. There was mold in the shower and the food at the restaurant. Was. Well I had better. I had no idea of the hype of how great this hotel was supposed to be and I promise I felt none of that luster. I won't be staying here again.

From the moment I arrived this has been one of the most attentive and accommodating staffs. They have exceeded all of my expectations thus far and turned a mundane work trip into a luxury experiences. If you are coming to Portland I think this is the place to be!

The staff are very friendly. They go out of their way to make sure guests have everything they need. The hotel is in a great location. They just renovated the gym and are making more renovations. They have complimentary beer and whiskey everyday. The rooms are nice and spacious.

Our stay at the Heathman will be very memorable — but not in a good way. When I checked out, the lady at the front desk was extremely argumentative and rude about a resort fee I thought I had already paid. I went ahead and paid for it there, all the while listening to her try to prove her point over and over and over… She actually rolled her eyes and shook her head at me. When I walked away, she yelled through the lobby that I was rude! I called the manager, Daniel, with a formal complaint and he said he would speak with the employee and get back to me. So far, no call back. The Heathman is definitely not the establishment that it used to be. I will never, ever stay at the Heathman again. Not when there are many other great places to stay downtown. Anything over one star is highly overrated.

Staff couldn't figure out a credit authorization after 4 calls. The windows in the room look like they hadn't been cleaned in several years, and it was impossible to open or crack them for fresh air. One of the soaps was used and stuffed back into the packaging. There was remodeling underway, and only one elevator for the entire hotel, this lead to super long waits. There is no mini fridge, so it is impossible to save any dinner leftovers for a late night snack. If you want a historic hotel with pretensions this might be for you.

Great location. Rooms are updated. Comfortable bed. Valet was friendly. Text concierge was a nice touch. The lady on the phone when we called to inquire about early check in was extremely rude and unhelpful. When we arrived they said a room was not ready and they would call us. They never did. Front desk staff was prickly and seemed irrirated that she had to answer questions. No one informed us of the construction going on when we booked. 8am we heard drilling. The room looked nice but is small and smelled like paint fumes and chemicals. You can not open a window as it's nailed shut. There is no coffee in the room. No fan in the bathrooms and they are SMALL. We will not be back for this high price. Friendly and helpful staff would have changed my mind.

Great location in downtown Portland, even more improved by the excellent amenities, friendly and helpful staff, complimentary check-in beverage, and clean rooms. At night we couldn't even hear the street noise which was appreciated. The missing star is due to the current renovations which were quite loud on our floor (midday nap for our little one was a bit difficult). Otherwise, I highly recommend this hotel.

This hotel has a lot of character. It was perfectly located in downtown Portland. The front desk crew did a great job of executing hospitality as I booked on hotels. Com and the reservation initial was in a different room than what I thought I booked. Tayrn and staffed didn't have an issue moving is to the proper room. My guest and I were greeted with a local IPA and pilsner which added to the feel of the hotel. The restaurant headwaters also was quite delicious. I am defiantly booking this hotel next time I visit Portland. Great job of making my guest and I feel welcomed.

The Heathman is a beautiful hotel with relaxing ambiance. Very friendly and accommodating staff. Central to much of what Portland had to offer for tourist. The only complaint I have is lack of parking. Would stay there again.

My Daughter was married in downtown Portland on December 30, 2017. I made a reservation at the Heathman Hotel for that night so we wouldn't have to drive home late. We arrived about 11 pm and went straight to bed. We never unpacked. The next morning we ordered room service, ate and had coffee. We got dressed and drove home. It was later that I realiized that I left my jewelry on the bedside table. I called and was given to lost and found. They transferred me to housekeeping, I was told there was no jewelry left in my room. This wasn't a matter of did I or didn't I leave it. I know for a fact that I left it, I called back and asked for the manager. Her name is Darren, Out of at least 10 calls made to her she only returned one and I was at work. She made no effort to investigate who entered the room when we left or perhaps checked to see if it was misplaced in lost in found. I gave her plenty of time to respond. I called again and this time talked to a supervisor named Jennifer. She assured me that there is a protocol for these situations. She had me email her a photo of the jewelry and said she would start the process and call me later. No call ever came. The necklace I was wearing was of sentimental value and can't just be replaced. I also lost earrings and a bracelet but at least they can be replaced. I know that it was my mistake to leave them there but accidents happen.

Came here for our anniversary. The staff was very nice and helpful. They gave us a newly renovated room on the top floor. When getting off the elevator we could already smell fumes and the room was even worse. Probably from new paint. When I woke up in the morning my eyes were all puffy and I had itchy hives all over my body. I find it incredibly irresponsible of the hotel to allow anyone to stay in these rooms that still have high concentrations of VOCs. I told the front desk about it and they said they would have someone take a look, but they took no action to make this right with me. I would never stay here again. Update: One week later I am finally almost over the allergic reaction after a $200+ doctor's visit, high doses of steroids, and a day's lost time at work. The hotel has an automated feedback system which I responded to, but they still didn't take any action on the feedback I provided. I have not received any kind of apology or regrets. I wish I could give them 0 stars.

We were lucky enough to get a reservation for the Russian Tea Experience at Headwaters, in the Heathman. The decor was wonderful, big Christmas trees and matryoshka dolls. The tea was good, they had a nice selection of loose leaf tea. The food was mediocre. Interesting, but not great. We did not see people finishing the platter at other tables, either. For instance, there were devilled eggs, but they were flavorless and pasty. The poppyseed rolls were too chewy. Nothing stood out as memorable. The waiters were rushed and didn't refill hot water regularly. For the price, I wouldn't recommend it. Get a regular lunch at Headwaters and walk through the tea room for the decor. We decided not to return for the Holiday buffet, as neither food nor service was up to par.

The staff here are always wonderful. Beyond our occasional stays at the hotel, we've hosted a holiday gathering there the last few years. Each year, they're wonderful to work with, and always go above and beyond. A special thanks to Reed for all the help this year.

This is our favorite hotel. Period. Everything is thoughtfully designed. The in-room coffee service is divine. The personal concierge is knowledgeable and knows exactly who you are and where you're located in the hotel when you call, so they can give you specific information. The restaurant, Headwaters, is incredible, as is the bar. You can make reservations for Russian high tea in the tea room as well. All over, just a lovely place.

I didnt stay at this particular hotel. Though we did hang out in the lobby and lounge. Its a really neat old hotel and the staff particularly the young man working the front door were absolutely awesome. I wish I kneee his name but he was a tall young man and very pleasant.

My friend and I were returning from a trip to Seattle and decided to spend the night in Portland before driving back to Astoria. When we arrived we were greeted by the friendly Beefeater at the door who took our luggage and called the valet to park our car. Upon checking in, we were informed that we had been upgraded to a 2 bedroom suite! Words can't describe how beautiful it was!
We both felt a little underdressed, as our Seattle trip was very casual, so we were in jeans and t-shirts. But we had a lovely delicious meal at The Headwaters and no one batted an eye at our attire. An added bonus was seeing George and Brad Takei in the lobby after George had emceed opening night of the Oregon Symphony! All in all, an excellent evening and I would definitely stay there again!

Great hotel. Excellent service and perfect location. Rooms are well equipped. Huge TV's. The hotel has shower/tubs in all the rooms (no separate shower or jacuzzi tub). We will stay there again. Didn't try the restaurant, maybe next time…

Very nice hotel in the heart of downtown Portland. So many things within walking distance. Just an overnight stay, but I would recommend and wouldn't hesitate to stay again.

Staff was VERY good and friendly. There is no complementary breakfast or hot tub/pool, which was disappointing. Very clean and modern. Rooms were nice, included fancy shower amenities, although the view from my room was basically the side of a building and my "10% off" room was actually pretty small. The "extra " optional things in the room included things such as m&ms, jerky and a little fridge with booze were extremely expensive and a short walk to Safeway you would spend less than HALF the normal price for. I visited during the eclipse in August 2017 and the room was VERY VERY expensive, but that is to be expected during this time so I will not complain too much about that. I paid about 370 after tax for one night but I understand prices would be inflated due to the influx of guests from the eclipse but I would normally NEVER pay that much for this. I've spent 200 on a night before but that was at the Oregon coast in Newport with an amazing ocean view and an included in-room Jacuzzi. Basically would say, normally I wouldn't pay more than a hundred bucks for the room I got. The only thing that saves my experience here though is the service from the employees which includes concierge and valet. Probably won't come again.

Concierge offered me a beer as I walked in. There is a text concierge that will do whatever you need. Rooms are very comfortable. There is a small fitness room that has nice equipment, well maintained. Restaurant is nice. Our bathroom would have been much too small for an obese person, though just fine for an average sized person. I was sad they won't let you use the stairs, they're locked from the stairs side. Overall a very classy place, I would stay again.

The room was a little on the small side, but still very comfortable. They provided a cocktail upon check in, which was very nice after a full day of travel. Very nice hotel and would stay here again.

Easily one of the best hotels I have stayed at within the last three years. Fantastic service, the room was very clean and spacious, and the central location was a real asset.

I was staying here for a week for a business trip. I enjoyed my stay. I loved the free bourbon in the tea room and all the staff was very friendly.

Stayed for my birthday and for a special afternoon, evening with my wife. Staff was top notch, from the Beefeater at the door, to the wait staff in the restaurant for breakfast on Monday morning. My wife was interested in mac and cheese for dinner and the concierge service recommended Le Bistro Montage. It was an excellent place for dinner. While I called for reservations only the night before, Houston managed to get the perfect room for Shelley and I. Brittany was very helpful when we arrived early to get us checked in and up to our room with no delay. There was a minor problem with them not receiving an email I had sent earlier in the day for some little extras to surprise my wife, however, Brittany still helped make our stay special. I'll be back.

The area made it very convenient to walk to nearly all of the major downtown events/locations (e. G. Saturday Market, Powell Book Store, dozens of food carts, and Portland State University). The Premium King room was cozy enough for two. Sizable ~42" LCD TV. This wasn't a smart TV and didn't seem to have satellite television channels. So, bring a Roku or equivalent if you plan on having movie options. As for service: very friendly staff and suited door greeters! Overall, one of the most quality hotels I've ever stayed in.

I felt like a princess during my stay at the Heathman. The hotel itself was luxurious and comfortable. The bed was heavenly and the room was perfect. But what was most impressive was the customer service. There is a front desk employee, I believe her name is Lily. From the very first moment I walked in the door, she went out of her way to make sure I came first. She was more than polite. She held her composure but was still able to make me feel like a close friend. She made arrangements for me that weren't required but she did it with ease and without stress to me. I didn't have much interaction with the other employees, just casual contact and some phone contact. I felt as if I were a special guest. I highly recommend the Heathman Hotel!

Great location in central downtown. Right by pioneer square, which has a bunch of local cool events. Really close to public transportation you can head anywhere with ease. Friendly staff. Small, but comfy room. Very comfortable bed.

The rooms are clean, spacious, and well decorated. This Hotel is in a great location: in Kirkland's city center, a minute away from lake Washington. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I'll definitely return!

Beautiful wood paneling and chandeliers throughout. A library of first editions signed by the authors who've stayed here. They have a bucket of champeign at the front dest for and hand it out liberally. I went on a little tour and posted to to Youtube for a real sense of it's grandeur.

Service was excellent. Pricy place, but definitely worth it for the amenities. Great location for shows at the Schnitz.

After a Portland Science Lecture on a Thursday night I was invited to a late dinner with other guests and the speaker. The Heathman Hotel was just a short walk from our lecture location and the food, service and ambience were just delightful. We even got to walk through an area on the 1st floor where a live band was quietly playing.

Great hotel — loved the ability to choose our bed! Who ever thought of that was a genius! The Tempurpedic was so comfy! Room was small but very nice. And, since we were in the city, we didn't spend much time in it anyways. The only down side — I ordered the local beer sampler as a gift to be brought up when we arrived. I had to call for it 3 times and we ended up wasting almost 2 hours waiting for it. When it was brought up were were told they got busy and just forgot about it. Plus it wasn't even cold! I appreciate the honesty and it might not seen like a big deal but when you're only in town for one night something like that stands out.

The restaurant serves really good food with good service. They can be a bit overwhelmed at times when it is really busy, though.

The bottom line is that they hire rude valet drivers who do not know how to safely operate vehicles. I guess you get what you pay for. I was almost struck by a valet driver while riding my bike home today. The driver almost side swiped me while moving into the bicycle lane without using their blinkers, and then proceeded to shift into reverse. I found myself forced to bash on the rear window of the car because the driver didn't appear to see me, even though I was dressed in bright, reflective, yellow clothing and my bike is equipped with flashing lights. As I passed the car in the traffic lane, the valet proceeded to call me a profane word. The valets often needlessly block bike line, and are very rude about it, but I was surprised to know that they also don't seem to be able to safely operate a vehicle.

My husband and I stayed here for our wedding night, and we had the most AMAZING experience thanks to Lorisa at the front desk! Her smile, friendliness, amazing accommodations, and phenomenal customer service put the Heathman over the TOP for the hotels that we have stayed in. Lorisa was not only able to make our room check in and easy (since we arrived around midnight and she made note of that), but she had the most amazing surprise in our room for us! Lorisa also made reservations for us to take the shuttle to the airport that next morning, and that went flawlessly as well. She was there to check us out, and Lee and I couldn't be more grateful for her service, and for this hotel. We can't wait to stay here again, and be able to experience her amazing customer service again.

Restaurant was great! Had halibut cheek some years ago. Very memorable dish. Happy hour menu — Oyster rockefellers rock! Treat yourself to some tea too. Lounge is great and you can't beat a mellow jazzy night in the Heathman with your partner. Desserts could be slightly improved upon (overall decent for Portland though).

Although this is a historic hotel, the rooms are well-sized and have a decorated luxuriously so you feel pampered with continental style — don't be fooled by the small-feeling lobby. The hotel location is on the south side of downtown so you have easy access to the Max only a 7 minute walk away, or you can hop on the Streetcar a few blocks way or just walk to the Cultural District (museums, symphony and performing arts) or to your downtown destination in 10 minutes. The Beefeater dressed to the hilt doormen in their finery is pretty iconic (as is the statue of the bulldog Zelda next to a watering bowl for dogs right by the entrance, also in Beefeater finery). They also offer traditional tea service. In the bar area (held either in the Tea Court Lounge after tea is done, or in the Marble Bar overlooking Broadway), the cocktails here are luxurious, tasty, and beautiful. The prices of these cocktails reflect the fact that the Heathman is aware of its upscale level thanks to being closely located so it is walkable to various venues for performing arts shows in the neighborhood, and the travellers staying here at the hotel or downtown. The cheapest cocktail is $10, and most are in the $12-14 range. Everything is high quality, but the bill total does add up — especially because you will likely want to try more than 1 of those tasty drinks.
