I'll start with the positive parts of my experience. The room was exceptionally clean and I was allowed to check in early at around 1pm. This was great news as we really needed to shower up and start laundry for our appointment that evening, however the water was off. I was repeatedly told that it would be no more than an hour each time I asked. The water was not back on until 4:45 and I was not able to shower so I had to postpone my meeting. Oh well. Showered up ready to relax in the hot tub, but the hot tub was a tepid 80 degrees… the amount of foam and effervescence stinging my eyes and nose made this only tolerable for about 5 minutes. Otherwise my stay was great and I thoroufhly enjoyed the tiny workout room and pool. Only awkward for these additional moments. When I explained to the owner that I felt I deserved a partial discount for the lack of water he declined, understandably so. He then went on to yell at me and deny that the water was off so late claiming that I was wrong and the water was back on at 4:00. Really doesn't matter, but he yelled and argued with me about this time in front of a handful of guests and his daughter who looked mortified. The following morning I saw him doing the same thing to a distraught woman in the breakfast room. I guess she was having trouble working the microwave and he was yelling at her while she repeatedly wept that she was so so sorry. One more kicker, I was told I could not take my donut and coffee with me back to my room.

Location was perfect as we were in Newberg for an event and needed to stay overnight. The room was tidy and clean and perfectly acceptable. There was a small issue with the towel bar next to the sink. It was broken upon our arrival. Hardly a deal-breaker. I notified the front desk when we checked out and they thanked us for letting them know. Service was great. Fast check-in and check-out. The continental breakfast was very well-stocked and remained that way for the entire window of time. The staff was kind and courteous and helpful. My only complaint would be that the pool was exceptionally rowdy and because it is not staffed (which is clearly marked on all the signs), no one was there to keep people under control. There was a foursome in the corner who snuck in food and beer despite the posted signs that no food or drinks were allowed. The unattended teenagers were doing cannonballs and screaming so it was very loud and not particularly safe for smaller children who wanted to enjoy the pool. Otherwise, a very pleasant stay.

Good location and close to shopping. Tucked off the main road, and that is nice. Very friendly staff.

We stayed while helping our son in the renovation of his new home in Newberg. Well stay here for every stay until the guest room is done. Very pleasant staff. Clean. Really nice breakfast choices.

A great little hotel, the continental breakfast is small, but very accommodating. They had milk alternatives (almond and soy) and gluten free bread.

We were in Newberg Oregon because our truck broke down. I have a service animal. When we checked in, the young lady was very polite. We went to our room and then we were charged an extra $40 for my service animal. We took time to enjoy the pool and spa. When returning to our room, I took a shower. The shower wouldn't turn off. We contacted the front desk. A gentleman came to the room and he flipped out about my service dog. He sent us down the street to a horrible motel where we were charged more money. This was not a pleasant experience.

Absolutely love this place, we're pet owners, so our dogs come with us. This place welcomes our pets, it's clean and the owners are hands on, they greet everyone that comes in. The continental breakfast is great. They just start your day out right and the prices are great.

Very clean, up to date. Friendly staff. I had forgotten my phone charger, and they were kind enough to lend me one. I was there for one night and didn't use the pool or have breakfast, so I cannot speak to those amenities. Very close to George Fox University. Would stay there again!

The people that run this place are great. It's clean and quiet. We've stayed here twice while visiting and will stay again!

Clean and comfortable! The owners are nice and polite; they are very welcoming. We stay here every time we travel to Newberg because it is such a great deal.

The room and amenities were great for the price. The room was clean & comfortable. We enjoyed to pool, spa, laundry room and ice. We are very happy with our choice.

Managers here should probably be a little friendly but otherwise clean quiet and awesome breakfast.

Stayed here on out way through to Lincoln City. Loved it so much we stayed again on our way back!

Terrible service when it comes to customer service. We made a reservation to stay there and no where was it stated until already paid that it was a 21 or older age requirement, we called to see if we could get a refund or stay at a younger age but there was no manager or anyone with authority on site to answer our request and were told to call back in two hours. We didnt have two hours to call back, we needed a place to stay for a family emergency. We contacted them back to try and get a refund or even a partial refund of some sort and then they finally tell us that they would wave the age requirment for us after we were already booked into a different hotel. We would have been happy with a partial refund or something but the manager/owner refused to help us at at all other than telling us that he could wave the age limit while we were alredy in a different hotel for the night. I would have loved to stay at this hotel in the future but I must say that this first time experiance has really put a damper on my thoughts for this establishment. The owner of the hotel refuses to release the funds back to the travel agent that we booked through so we can get our money back so we are stuck paying for two hotels and no help from this establishment at all in our situation. The reservation was under the name of my girlfriend Katie.

This hotel made up for its mild deficiencies in providing over-the-top service in other areas. The mild deficiencies are that the beds are a little hard and there was no shampoo automatically provided, but the Wi-Fi was the fastest that I've ever experienced in a hotel and everything was well kept and comfortable. The breakfast provided was excellent and quick for a continental breakfast as it provided the regular pastries as well as breakfast sandwiches and burritos, which made my morning. The staff was very friendly and helpful and when I left some items at the hotel, they went out of their way to help. The pool area was a nice place to relax after a long day and it was clean and the temperature of the jacuzzi was perfect. Overall, I was very impressed with the quality of this hotel.

Very nice staff. Nice and spacious rooms. Breakfast is always refilled. The boss asks about the well-being and is interested in the needs of the guests.

I tried to book online through the Travelodge website. I called to check on the pet policy before I finished booking and the guy told me that if I book online to call and make sure that it goes through and everything is set. So, while I had him on the phone, I told him that the site was giving me the option of a pet friendly room with two queen beds and the price it was offering. He told me that there weren't any rooms available. What good is booking a room online if they aren't going to honor it when you arrive? Moving on to the next place. I've always booked online for other hotels and have never had an issue. Too bad since I come to the Newberg frequently.

I like this place because apart from being economical is very clean.

Bala and Keri Bhat are a married couple who runs this hotel together, and they're extremely accommodating and friendly! We got there after 10pm, when the pool closed, and still wanted to swim, so Bala offered to open the pool specifically for us! He also offered to open it at 6am, when it normally opened at 7, since we had to leave early. The breakfast in the morning was very good, and Keri made conversation and asked what we were in town for, along with getting us napkins and letting us know we could ask her if we needed anything. The hotel room was very nice and the beds were comfortable. Nothing bad to say! We would definitely stay here again!

Clean, well kept facility. Typical continental breakfast to get you on the road quick with something in your stomach.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Kery on the Monday am shift during my stay was the best. She checked on me to make sure I had breakfast and gave me a farewell hug when I left. Now, that feels like home!

Room was clean, but in otherwise sad condition. The carpet "baseboard" was falling off the wall, the caulk between the tub and floor was cracked and missing in places, and the room could use a good paint job. The desk clerk was very accommodating when we ask for a ground floor room because the room she originally assigned was on the second floor; there is NO elevator (we are seniors with some mobility issues).

Welcoming, clean, comfortable. We stayed in a room with a comfy single queen. The managing couple was very kind and they each greeted us at breakfast. We would go back.

I just called and ask if they have a room available the front desk said they have a king size bed available asked for the price and I said that was fine and I want to reserve it He ask for my last name and said he change his mind and doesn't want to reserve it. What the heck is that? Did not give any explanations why he didnt want to reserve it. Worst hotel dont stay there.

Its a nice place for the price. I wish breakfast was better but can't complain about free stuff.

The hotel was not as bad as described by some of the others. I am so scared to one day actually come in contact with bedbugs, stayed 2 nights no bugs what so ever. In fact the hotel seemed pretty clean to me. Older hotel, but well kept. I was traveling for a friends wedding so I needed to send the gifts for the wedding to the hotel in advance to avoid having to travel with them. I spoke with the owner of the hotel and he confirmed that he would keep them safe until my arrival. The packages were opened but in perfect condition when I got there. My stay was paid for in advance, and at time of arrivial they asked for a credit card to have on file just incase. I was told I would not be charged. The next day I noticed Travelodge was holding $50 through my bank. I called the front desk they said as soon as I checked out that money would be released. After a few days the money had still not been released but is only showing as a pending transaction so I called the hotel and the owner apologized and said he would get it taken care of right away. Staff was friendly and helpful, hotel was in a very convient location.

Outdated motel with rock hard beds and threadbare towels are the least of the problems. First noticed room was very worn out and dingy, but then started seeing blood on bed, walls, curtains. We went to front desk and said we would not be staying, explaining why. The manager yelled at us, threatened us, and argued that we checked in, so we had to pay. We said we would not. Called our credit card company to tell them. HORRIBLE experience! DO NOT STAY HERE unless want to stay in crime scene.

SAVE YOURSELF! DO NOT STAY HERE — In the morning we were sleeping in and housekeeping knocked on the door at 8:30 and woke us up. The bed was the hardest I have ever experienced in a hotel. Check-out time was at 11:00. My daughter and I had gone to breakfast and were going to be back before 11:00 to check-out. At 10:45 I got a call from the front desk asking if we were leaving or spending another night because housekeeping had gone into our room and found our belongings still there. Housekeeping entered our room even though I had the "do not disturb" sign on the door. Absolutely ridiculous and I will never stay there again.

I have never in my life had a worse experience than with this hotel. I booked a room over the phone on october 25, 2012. I called and canceled the room on october 27 (one day before we were to arrive) and he told me I would not receive my money back. After a very loud arguement, he told me that he would not charge my credit card and even sent my an email confirming he would not charge me. So it was a big surprise when my bank account was charged 63 days later for the cost of the room. When I called the same manager (who barely speaks any english) he said it was at his athourity to charge my card. So now I am dealing with the fraud department at my bank. I would not ever use this hotel, not to mention that we canceled because a friend told us this hotel is disgusting and has bed bugs and the manager is very unfriendley. I think if you run a hotel, you should be clean and curtious, somthing this hotel lacks.

Found large adult bed bugs and took it to the owner who declared that we brought them in to try and get a discount or something and that many people have tried it before. Seen the review from Honest-Eats and they experienced the same thing. Was disgusted by the bed bugs and went to wash all my clothing and bedding. Costed more money than my usual go-to hotel because I wanted a big room to share with my 9 months pregnant girlfriend, and turns out it costed more in rent, and more in laundry. Disappointed because of rude owner. Also noticed the owner "Bala" left a positive review for himself, how sad.
