Room too small for the luggage cart, which got jammed and I had to climb up and over the cart to get into the tiny room.
Phone doesn’t work, tried calling front desk, and 911. Doesn’t work.
Online booking wasn’t updated for Covid, traveling from out of state, expected pool and breakfast for this price. Broken coffee maker, had to call front desk from my cellphone which took 30 minutes to reach. I had to go to front desk to pick up a second broken machine which was also broken. Had to carry coffee maker to bathroom to plug in. Needed a 3rd coffee maker, which was brought to my room.
You’d think that the extra maintenance duties would be offset by a lower price.

My first time in Portland was made very nice staying here. The service was impeccable, the rooms very clean, the free breakfast in the morning was always very good woth a decent selection of food, and it was just a very nice experience.

We have had out-of-state family on two different occasions use this hotel. Both parties really enjoyed this hotel. I hung out in their room a little bit and went to the breakfast each morning with them. The room was very clean, nice and comfortable, with a desk and a couch. They had good TV channels and fast Wi-Fi. The breakfast had a wide variety of options. Fruit, cereal, yogurt, pancakes, bagels, oatmeal, eggs, bacon, sausage, biscuits and gravy. There was coffee, tea, milk and juices. The hotel is located where it’s easy to get on the interstate and be downtown Portland fast.

Beds were so comfortable. Great location.

Nice place. We loved the layout of the room as it has two rooms where we were expecting one. The breakfast had variety and the machine that made the pancakes entertained us. Don't get me wrong, it was still typical hotel breakfast but had a few different choices. No waffles. The staff was polite and the place was clean inside and out. Citrus infused water in the lobby was a nice touch.

Not entirely impressed. When calling down for room services to ask for certain necessities such as towels, shampoo, etc. We were told to just go find a house keeper cart down the hall. I understand being busy, however, paying as much as I am, I would expect a lot more consideration to guests. Our room was dirty as well. There was a hole in the head board, and hair in our shower. We weren’t too concerned about it considering we got in late, and our 2 year old was exhausted. When asking for late check out, they almost refused it to us. Other than that, the beds were comfortable and the house keepers were sweet.

My wife and I take a couple of shopping trips to Portland each year. This is one of the hotels that we frequently stay at. The rooms are clean and modern. The beds are comfortable and the free breakfast is nice in the morning.

This place is great. Amenities are great they have a pool that is open 8am-10pm and the gym is 24hrs. And breakfast was delicious. Lots of options.

We got to our room the toilet was plugged and dirty rag on shower from previous person. Called front desk and they ran me a plunger and left. Bed is very comfortable but customer service not good at all.

Enjoyed my night stay. Beds were comfortable. Complementary breakfast was great, Orange juice tasted funny, water was pink only because the cranberry juice was next to it.

Clean, comfortable rooms. Great placement of peripheral amenities like a fuel station, and a restaurant (burgerville) only three speed bumps away. The rooms have a larger than normal refrigerator, a compact microwave, a Kuerig coffee maker complete with 2 each cups of regular and decaf, and complimentary soap, lotion, shampoo and conditioner. There is a fitness salon and a swimming pool on the first level. The full breakfast was awsome! They have a machine that can make two pancakes in two minutes at the press of a button. All the food was hot and fresh, but one had to balk at the "ready from frozen" omelette on display. They do not look appetising so I did not try one. It had the appearance of an old Christmas decoration. There was plenty of seating and even a USA Today paper for everyone. Hope I get to stay again soon.

The room is clean with crisp linens and comfortable beds. There is not a hot tub, but the pool is serviceable. There is a problem with lobby coffee and creamer. The first time we stayed here we were told there would not be any lobby coffee as there was a conference and they didn't want the conference guests drinking the lobby coffee so they just weren't serving any. This time there was lobby coffee but no plain creamer as they only serve plain creamer with breakfast! Not friendly hotel staff here. Very anal controlling hotel staff. Another guest said he had been refused plain creamer as well. While waiting to check they wanted the names of who was staying in the room. Also, they took a guest call while I was waiting. The guest asked for extra blankets and the guest was asked how many people were staying in the room and the staff person proceeded to quote the fire code to the guest. I won't stay here again. You definitely feel like you are an imposition on them.

Great location, clean and one of the best staffs I have encountered at an ihg property and I mean every staff member I encountered was fantastic. The personalized attention was unparalleled. I will be back for sure.

This place was exactly what I needed. After visiting a nearby run-down motel 6, and the manager refusing to honor my reservation for complaining about the surroundings, and their inconvenient policies, I decided to check in at this hotel instead. Upon arrival, I noted that the general surroundings were quiet, well lit, and did not have any undesirable loiterers. The general manager at this hotel, was very nice, and so polite. We had a nice chat in which she engaged me about shared interests, while I was briefed on the hotel's amenities and while filling out the check-in paperwork. The room was in outstanding condition, and the bed was very comfortable and clean. Check out was punctuated by a personalized express check out note, which was both unexpected, but very welcome. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay.

Close to a restaurant and gas station, and highway. Very comfy beds. Good breakfast!

Wonderful experience with Farrah. She was kind and inviting. Clean hotel, quiet, great location. Will be going back when I have to travel to area for work. Again, the manager was truly wonderful.

Quick trip. Room was comfortable and pretty spacious. Pool was nice and the breakfast was average.

Ok Holiday Inn @hielakeoswego I get that you're trying to keep the Christmas spirit but acting like the innkeeper in the nativity story, but turning away a mother with an infant because she's trying to pay for a room with cash is just despicable. My wife got a flat tire tonight on the way to a friend's house. No spare, because we already had to use it, and the tire place is closed. She's got our 3 week old son and her 14yo daughter with her. Ok she figures, they'll stay in a room for the night and get it fixed in the morning. So she limps to the Holiday Inn Express and tries to get a room. The clerk informs her she can't get a room without a credit card (she doesn't use them). So now she's going to sleep in the car? Because cash is no good?

Nice place to stay while in the Portland area. Has a gas station, convenience store, Burgerville, and bar all in same parking lot.

We love coming to the bar/restaurant here for brunch on Sundays. I say brunch because they give you a breakfast menu and a lunch menu and you can order from either one. It's a great place and the staff is super nice.

Very comfortable bed and I REALLY enjoyed the "soft" pillow. Unfortunately, the carpet had some stains, one was pretty prominent, and someone else's hair remained in the tub when I went to soak. Oh, and I had to wait 5 minutes for anyone to appear at the front desk so I could check in. Otherwise, not so bad.

Clean, roomy, almost perfect. I was on the top floor and it still sounded like there was someone walking around above me. The sound woke me up at one point in the middle of the night.

The hotel was nice enough, however I actually stayed in a room with a single full size bed. I haven't seen a full size bed in a hotel since I was in the middle of nowhere in Canada. Other than that, it was a standard Holiday Inn Express experience.

Front reception staff was welcoming and really friendly! Room was nice and large, very clean. Love the Bath and Body works toiletries. My only comment is to clean the carpet. The feet of my grandchild were really dirty after we let him walk around. Other than that — It was great and when we're back in this area.

Nice place for a quick rest over night. Great breakfast. Only minor problem was the room bathroom sounded like a plane is taking off and lights do not work.

The rooms were very clean and the service staff was professional. The pool lacks a hot tub or spa, but it's headed to a comfortable temperature. The breakfast was the usual fare you find at a Holiday inn Express, which for a free hotel breakfast ranks quite high.

This Holiday Inn is one of the best I have ever stayed at! It has a very nice pool and spectacular rooms. I got a suite room for my family that had two rooms and I slept in one, while my wife and daughter slept in the other. I snore, but neither did my wife or my daughter head me at all! The reason I did not give the hotel all five stars was because of the layout. It was very confusing. The Lobby was on the second floor, which to me was peculiar. And the room numbers were split up, making it very confusing my family. Other than that, I love this Holiday Inn so much and will definitely stay there again if I am in the area!

I had an absolutely wonderful experience. This inverse was Second To None. The food was amazing. The staff was absolutely friendly and very professional. The room through Queen cleanly and amazing. Nice TVs nice beds.

I always love the holiday Inn and holiday Inn express hotels. They just have simple (simple is genuis) but somewhat elegant rooms. Comfortable bed. Clean room. Nice staff. What more could you ask for.

Nice location. I got the room at the end of the hall on the first floor. Not the greatest. Seems like it was filling extra space. Not horrible just the only room they had left. Breakfast had pancakes and biscuits and gravy. Right next to a sports bar. Stumbling distance.

If I could give it a 0 I would after drvin over 2000 miles thy wouldn't allow us to check in until 3 Am which was over an hour and a half. Even though when placing the reservations they said it would be no problem. So I had three kids just sitting in the lobby after 33 hours in a van. Even though the had the rooms ready and open… then I emailed the manager and never got a response. Terrible service.

I love this place! Staff is always super friendly and accommodating, the rooms are very nice, clean and modern, and I love the saline pool! They offer a free continental breakfast with a wide selection of food to choose from and there is a restaurant with a bar that shares a parking lot. Cheveron and Burgerville are also right there as you pull in so everything you need is literally at your location. I have a service animal (small dog) and have NEVER had a problem with bringing him to this hotel, and have never been snubbed or treated any differently because of it. If you are travelling to the Portland area, I highly recommend staying here! Prices are very reasonable and the location is right off I-5, but the building is tucked back so I never hear the traffic. If I could give this place 10 stars I would; I have no idea why it is only rated a 2 star Hotel, but hey, it's easier on the wallet that way, and I have to say, I've stayed in 4 star hotels much worse so really what a bang for your buck!

Clean rooms, nice staff, good breakfast. The entrance is right off the highway. All in all a good visit.

Price / performance.

We came here while visiting my sister in law and her family in Lake Oswego. We got a King bed suite on the third floor. The room itself was clean and nice. In fact, on room alone, I really wanted to give this location 5 stars — plenty of towels, nice shower, friendly staff, and a nice set up. On the amenities side of things, I was really disappointed that the pool (salt water) was freezing. Not just a bit chilly, but actually so cold that we couldn't really use it as we would have liked. The workout facility was pretty unkempt and not very clean. The breakfast area was so so and the food just okay. On the pool alone, I had to take the rating down to a 3 star because we purposely selected this hotel over two others because of the salt water pool and having it be so cold was just a huge disappointment and really made the experience less inviting.

The staff are fine and the rooms are fine. It is next to a loud highway and a bar. Seen what looked like drug deals going down both inside the bar and on the patio.

Service was great. Good location. Comfy pillows. Love the Kurig in the room. Will stay again.

Very nice place, but the pool was very salty. It burned my kids mouth. Burgerville next door was delicious.

My company booked me here when usual hotels were sold out. There was so much equipment noise (room 208) that it was impossible to sleep.

Seemed dingy and unkept for a HIX, and housekeeping constantly had stuff strewn in the hallways. Original room on the fourth floor smelled of smoke, and I had to ask for another. Dead bugs in the bathtub when I went to take a shower.

Smallest rooms I've ever seen in an HIX. Dusty rooms. When I mentioned it to the desk, the answer was, "well, housekeepers are short. ". They did help out when I secreted up my reservation.

Wow. I've stayed here at least half a dozen times and this last time was stellar! Don't know if it's new management or new staff, but everyone was extremely friendly. I was greeted as a Platinum member and given a water while I checked in. The facilities are great and the service was outstanding. What more can I say.

Great hotwire deal but get a top floor or you will listen to every step made by the people above you and hear most of every conversation. Most places have concrete between floors, obviously not here as corners were cut. Free breakfast was just ok. While we ate police investigated car in lot that had been broken into overnight. Rooms clean, front desk a bit on the rude side when checking in comcerning hotwire, alluded to not having correct room/reservation, but could go out of way and fix it. Whatever. Just OK here. Stay at the Crown Plaza for a few more bucks and buy your own breakfast like we did the last few times.
