Very Friendly & Caring Management Excellent Continental Breakfast! Will definitely stay here next time I pass thru!

Two years in a row (Labor Day weekend) we have stayed here with our 4 girls. They have a few choices of rooms for large families. It is clean, comfortable and breakfast is good. We get to use the city pool which is never crowded. There also a disc golf course near the pool too. The observatory is a big hit in town too. Service is great. The owners are great.

If I could give more stars I would 5++. Hospitality, clean rooms, great breakfast and most importantly, Mike is an outstanding host. Will definitely stay here again and recommend Ponderosa to anyone staying in Goldendale. Thank you for the stay.

Hard-working, courteous family run motel that offers a clean, comfortable stay with the most efficient check in process I've ever experienced and an impressive breakfast. Beds were very comfortable. Room and grounds were very clean. Will return when in the area for concerts at Maryhill Winery.

My friend is moving so her grandma and her brother me and her went to ponderosa motel and the beds and great and the food is good and the TV had movies that are awesome tqngeled and night on elm street. Thank you ponderosa motel best motel in washinton ever.

Great little motel — clean & simple with a pretty darn good breakfast! Dog-friendly which was great since we were on a road trip with our pup. Be sure to visit Dwinell Country Ales for a few drinks and The Glass Onion.

Want to give a big shout out to the Ponderosa! Last night we were displaced by the fire. We have a dog and cat that we didn't want to take to the evacuation hq set up at the gym. I called around midnight to see if they would take us and our critters. The lady at the front desk was so sweet and accommodating. It made the best of a rough situation. We were able to shower off all the dirt from running around the house setting sprinklers, loading rigs and trailers. It was a clean, quiet retreat to de-stress and try to get some sleep.
Thank you so so much for your caring words. It made my heart so happy. We have great people in this community. It makes me so proud.

Staff was great, breakfast was amazing and the room/bathroom was clean. Not many options in this area but I am super glad to have found this place. Travel websites overbooked this place the day I checked in so call ahead and confirm your reservation!

The Ponderosa Motel was in the perfect location for us. It was close to where we needed to be and the room was clean and fairly good condition when we arrived. They had a lot of cable channel options (moreso than many fancier hotels I have stayed at) and a mini fridge and microwave in our room that made traveling very easy. What stood out the most maybe was the free breakfast which exceeded my expectations, with home cooked style food which was tasty and more options than some other big name motel/hotels, that and the friendly staff who always had a smile on their face and were so welcoming and accommodating.

We traveled from out of state for a ranch wedding and stayed at the Ponderosa Motel in Goldendale Washington. Our needs were met at every corner as we have wheelchair needs. Our room was comfortable and clean. Breakfast in the mornings with good variety. Easy access and friendly. The Manager Michael rocked! Thank You! We would definitely recommend this as a family/pet friendly Motel. ✔️

This place is great! Perfect set up for families especially. Rooms are spacious and very clean. Continental breakfast was the best I have ever had!

The motel is not something to concern yourself about, the dogs are very nice but here's the clincher… it's the staff that makes this motel that reminds you of being home. Just guess it's best to give it a try, promise you'll see what I mean! Aye, the breakfast is top shelf too! The human side for a change.

Stayed here to race in a dirt bike race just outside of town. I was very happy with my stay. I have to say this is the quietest motel I have ever stayed in anywhere! I slept like a baby. The front desk was very friendly, very helpful and remembered me and my name each time I saw them. The hotel is very well maintained, the owners obviously put there heart and soul into in. When I woke up I went to get coffee in the breakfast room and was really pleasantly surprised by an amazing breakfast. One of the best I have ever seen in a hotel. I will definitely stay here on my next trip. Truly a hidden gem.

The motel and rooms are very clean, the rooms spacious, but the mattress was worn and thin. The manager was welcoming and very informative about the town. The breakfast was amazing! All home cooked with scrambled eggs, hashbrowns, sausages, biscuits and gravy, waffles, and so much more! The cook made sure that you had everything you needed and he kept the breakfast room very clean and well stocked! We will be back.

We enjoyed our stay very much. The first night our room had light shining in that kept us from sleeping well, but when we asked for a better room, they upgraded us to a bigger room with a kitchen. The breakfast was quite good. No whole wheat bread, but they had hashbrowns and scrambled eggs, which made it easy for my gluten-free husband to get enough to eat. The mattresses are a bit old and saggy, which is why I didn't give it 5 stars, but other than that, it was a pretty good place to stay.

Motel isn't bad. Room we stayed in had double Queen beds. Bare essentials for sure. Had one of those waffle and cereal breakfast bars, which is common for many motels. For the location the motel is just what you would expect, not fancy but not trashy.

Feels like home! I don’t have words to express the welcome I got from my Christmas disasters. On top of taking a last minute promotion before the holiday. Traveling back to Gresham I slid in a ditch. When I got here the family greeted me right away. Very polite and sympathetic of my late night needs. It was as if this family was inviting me into there own home. THIS WAS CHRISTMAS DAY! After checking in, I was signing the tow papers the family cat decided to make a run for it. The owner here was able to round him up, and even helped me to my room. I have been to many 4 star hotels and can tell you I have never got service like this. Much thanks from my family to yours. I’d give this place ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ any day!

Excellent stop after a long day of traveling. Clean, nicely maintained, friendly staff, excellent homemade breakfast with lots of choices. Everything from homemade biscuits and gravy, cheesy scrambled eggs with peppers onions and mushrooms, hash browns, sausage patties and real links, waffles with caramel and chocolate sauce, and all the other usual breakfast items! Would definitely stay here again!

Mike is a great host. We travel with 2 dogs and always appreciate it when a motel is pet friendly. The rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. The breakfast served is varied and plenty for anyone. We'll definitely stay again on our way home.

Extremely comfortable bed. Room and hotel property are very clean, well maintained. Breakfast was hot, filling and tasty; unlimited coffee, juice or milk. Staff is very polite and accommodating. Would recommend this motel.

The owners are very nice. We had vehicle problems on the freeway moving from Vancouver, Washington to Spokane and it was late at night, but they welcomed us and gave us an amazing rate on the room! They even saved us a parking spot up front to help keep an eye on our truck with a moving load in the back. The place was cozy, clean and quiet. We will stay at the Ponderosa every time we go to Goldendale or get in a pickle on the freeway in the gorge!

Happened upon the Ponderosa Hotel by luck. I'm so glad I did. Big comfy room, very clean and had room to spare. The biggest surprise was the continental breakfast. The "Big" chain hotels would do well to take lessons from them. Along with the usual bagels, cold cereal and fruit, they had waffles, hash browns, scrambled eggs with peppers, onions and mushrooms, sausage patties, biscuits and gravy, plus more. The gentleman who cooks it takes great pride in making sure the guests are well feed when they leave. I will definitely be back whenever I'm in the area.

The rooms are Very clean, and quiet. Free breakfast was far more than the usual yogurt and banana. That was great, and the only reason this motel gets as many as 3 stars. However, our reservations were messed up SEVERAL times. Once is an accident, and understandable. Twice, you could be having a bad day. But between my reservation, and the reservation of family members that were traveling with me, the reservations were screwed up so thoroughly (in spite of several phone calls attempting to straighten it all out), we had to change our travel plans and only stay one night, because they were booked up… Even though there were supposed to be blocked rooms for our event, and both of my family's rooms were reserved a month in advance, for a two night stay. Our weekend family trip for a wedding became 30hrs long, with 14 of it driving to and from Goldendale. So, my hat goes off to the cleaning crew. The free breakfast was impressive and extensive. But if given the option to stay again, with the same owners/management in place, I would rather camp. And I'm not known for my love of camping.

This place was a saving grace! We had been driving for hours trying to find a good place to stay in between Portland and Salt Lake City and arrived at the Ponderosa after calling Mike at 2am. He was the most helpful and kind host as he helped us get settled into our extremely comfortable, clean, and spacious room. He didn't seem at all annoyed that we were arriving so late and offered to push back our checkout time free of charge after I had told him how long we'd been traveling for. I can't reiterate enough how helpful he was to us and how welcoming the whole experience was. Mike is a true gem and this was a wonderful stay. I hope to stay there again next time we come through. Rooms are clean. Had issues with shower, door lock cards (twice). And bathroom lights. Front staff seems to tolerate guests seemed annoyed that you need help. Breakfast was good.

Great clean room, friendly staff. Great breakfast for the morning. Only issue was shower in room 116. It varied from scolding hot to ice cold. So a quick shower was it. But everything else perfect. Dog friendly a big plus.

Wonderful place to eat relax and be on your way. Friendly helpful staff.

My husband Nate and I stayed at the Ponderosa Motel on Saturday night March 12, 2016. As soon as we were greeted by the owner, we knew this was going to be a great experience. She was so kind, down to earth and honest. The room we chose was one with one queen bed and kitchen. And WOW! The room was spotless and updated. It had a full size stove and everything needed to cook a regular meal. The bathroom was very nice with a newer toilet that is water saving and made to accommodate men comfortably. This motel also has a continental breakfast that was beyond normal. There were homemade biscuits and gravy! This was by far the best hotel/motel experience we have had. We highly recommend this motel to anyone visiting or traveling around Goldendale, WA.

It was very clean and nicely organized.

Stopped for a night. Great place, very clean. Even though it is an older Hotel everything works perfectly. Shower knobs tight, all caulking is clean and fresh, heater warm and quite. Best part is this bed, I think it is the newer memory foam! Great bed means good sleep, exceptionally important since the next four nights for me will be on the ground in a hunting camp.

Amazing place the staff is great, the rooms are immaculate and extremely cozy and quiet I recommend anyone staying in this area stay here Wi-Fi and direct tv.

Older hotel, but clean and fresh inside. Spacious room. Would happily stay there again! No breakfast was available our morning out, unsure why.

We were in Goldendale for a wedding and didn't feel like we should pay over $100 to stay at the Quality Inn or whatever. I felt that $70 (that includes tax) for a single was a great price! We arrived just in time to check in (@2pm) and I was please with the room. The room was clean, the kitchenette area was very cute, it included dishes and everything! We even had HBO! The bed was comfortable and the AC worked great! I had no issues whatsoever, well except that the I couldnt bring coffee into the room from the continental breakfast, and they didn't replace the coffee in our room to make some. No huge deal though. Oh and don't go to the McDonalds there the service is the worst, and they forget the simplest things llike NO ice lol.

Great place; super clean and well accommodating. We stayed in the newer section with a kitchenette, excellent. It was spotless. The road noise was noticeable but not bad. We had a great time and enjoyed an adequate complimentary breakfast on both our days there. If I go to Goldendale, that's where we'll stay; my wife loved the kitchenette, the cleanliness and floor plan. John.

We have after a long drive from Seattle through the Indian reserve accommodation wanted and sleep in a "Cottage" saw. When then the motel before us showed up we did not think that it would please us so well. Nice, clean, quiet, incl breakfast (++), priced absolutely ok! Only to recommend.

This is a very good place to stay and at an excellent price for a single room with queen bed! Newly remodeled and extremely clean. Continental breakfast was a bonus. Downtown restaruants and bars are an easy walk. It's only 1.5miles to the Goldendale Observatory. Definately would go back next trip via Hwy 97.

I stopped at this motel in the evening of November 25, 2009. The lady in charge was no nonsense, however, she gave me a room in a new section for what I thought was a great price. The room was really comfortable, the heat pump was new and actually quiet! The bed was very comfortable. The TV was a new flat screen that worked. The bathroom and room was the cleanest I think I've ever stayed in. The Wi-Fi worked. If I could find any fault with this motel, perhaps the complimentary breakfast could use some improvement, but I was so happy with the great room that I just didn't care about the breakfast. It was a great deal even without any breakfast. The coffee worked and thats all I wanted. Plus there was coffee and a coffee maker in the room that worked just fine. I plan to stay here the next time I pass through Goldendale.
