The hotel lets the pets eat from the same plates and bowls as you do! Please be ready to share a bowl with a dog or cat but do not complain as they will not treat you any better.
Definitely avoidable.

Good for longer stays or if you need a kitchen. Clean and well equipped. Convenient to Dulles airport. One problem is TV lacks a channel guide so it's difficult to find what's on. Otherwise a good value.

Not a typical Residence Inn experience in terms of how you see other Residence Inns. It is spread over 12-13 bldgs over a large area accessible through car and through internal pathways. If you have suitcases — you have to lug up the 3-4 stairs onto the door way. As in case of any Residence Inn, you see pets being allowed. But there seems to be a distinct smell from the place that comes from being pet friendly. And not a very pleasant smell. It does have good restaurants and is located close to the highway (only reason for its 2 stars) The kitchen was outdated, and the carpets look worn out. If you are looking for a quick stay here — then this place works. But definitely not recommended for a longer stay. While we were there, we had an issue with the television (due to a cable wide problem across the area) with no fault of the hotel. Looks like we were the one of the first ones to report it — and instead of checking into the details or finding out the reasons — the response we got is that maintenance teams are typically busy and it would take time to attend to our complaint. No wonder the maintenance teams would be busy — if its such an old property! Would avoid it by any stretch next time around.

It's a nice hotel that has a social time were you get free food and drinks. They also have a free breakfast. The only down side I found with my 2 bedroom suite was the one bedroom was just an upstairs loft with no door. So if someone is in the living room below, you hear everything. Each room has their own bathroom and the shower pressure is pretty good.

Outstanding all around. We’ve been here almost two months due to relocation and the staff and housekeeping are great. Convenience galore to restaurants, services, dentists, grocery stores. Highly recommend! Thank you Sean and staff at Marriott Residence Inn on Elden St in Herndon VA!

Very good hotel with large comfortable rooms and the beds are very luxurious. The property has lots of green space and the pool and patio are very nice. The hotel is very conveniently located near restaurants, a grocery store, Metro and the Dulles Toll Road. Complimentary breakfast is good and they actually have very good strong coffee which is hard to find at most chain hotels. If you need snacks or drinks get them at the Safeway which is a five minute walk — — the prices in the hotel shop are ridiculous. Enjoy your stay and make sure you try the Europe Cafe across the street which serves both German and Thai food.

Best place to stay in Herndon… loved the stay. Nice courteous staff! Friendly drivers. Pick and drop available. Awesome breakfast and sip & snacks in evening.

After returning home from my trip, I remembered that I left a pair of slacks, a shirt and a pair of running shoes in the room closet. Front desk staff (Alex) and the guest services staff mailed me my items back. Great hotel, great staff! Thank you! The breakfast food and the coffee were great. The room was clean.

Stayed here while relocating to Herndon. The staff was welcoming and the property was comfortable while in the middle of a relocation. The staff worked quickly to accommodate and extra night for us which was unplanned. They were able to take care of us even though a huge family reunion was checking in that afternoon… we did relocate rooms which was acceptable since we changed the original reservation. They were not only helpful in finding us the room, they helped move all of our things! You also can't beat the free breakfast and apartment style rooms with full kitchens.

The room is spacious, the staff is fabulous, the breakfast and manager's mix evenings are great. I have never been so pampered. Handicapped enabled/accessible and the staff is so very helpful. This has been my best hotel experience by far.

Location is good with some shops opposite. Near to IAD airport and Reston. Good breakfast. Rooms are big and clean.

One of my favorite Marriott hotels in the area. Great staff and great rooms!

Great place to stay and utilize the Silver line train into D. C. For sightseeing. Our maid Felina was great in accommodation of room needs during our stay. We had a suite and plenty of room for 4. The kitchen and an ability to cook and dine in was wonderful. The Safeway market just a short walk from the hotel is another asset to this Residence Inn location. We'd recommend this location for DC visitors as a great value.

One of the best Residence Inn's I've been in. Rooms are nice (although little old), ample parking space, excellent sun-shine into rooms as walls are not shared, good breakfast spread with fresh fruits. Will stay again in future if I visit Herndon, VA again.

Property is overall good and I liked our stay. However, 2 stars are missing because : 1. Shuttle service time is till 9.30 p. M. 2. No shuttle service on weekends. 3. Social is Mon-Wed only. Since I was on long stay, I found a better option so 3 stars for now ☺️

Service here is wonderful! They have events in the evenings for adults and free continental breakfast every morning. The food is delicious and they have a good selection. The rooms are well kept and it's in a convenient location.

My sister stayed here while we were working for the SBA. The staff made us all feel at home.

We stayed in the two bedroom suite. It was clean and spacious. Only downside is the hotel needs to replace their in suite coffee pots. It was very old and had seen better days.

Spacious, new great big beds, pillows, towels and kitchen — heat that goes to 80 degrees plus when it is 17 below freezing, windows on two sides, quiet and private, great front desk service.

Amazing and awesome hotel. Loved it. My family loved it too. Don't want to leave.

It's roomy and clean. The staff are great but seriously has a late 70's decor. Room needs updating badly.

This is a fabulous place to stay! We had a 2 bedroom/ 2 bath loft that was amazingly clean, spacious, and well-appointed with a full-size kitchen appliance set (all same brand), extra outlets for devices, recycle bin, loads of towels. Building 2 is extremely easy to gain access to Herndon Pky, stores on Elden St, and even the main building where breakfast is served. I will definitely stay here again.

Everything is good especially pool n basketball court. House keeping excellent. Even Breakfast n evening snacks are also too good.

This is a very nice place to stay for almost all purposes. The location is great with access to almost everywhere. The staff are nice and helpful. Enjoy your stay.

We enjoyed our stay, except for the next day before check out when they turned off the water without warning on us. Very inconvenient, however, the manager that morning apologized and gave extra points towards free night. Breakfast was delicious and staff was friendly. Also, no elevator to get to second floor so carrying luggage up stairs, I was lucky my husband was with me. We had luggage for international trip that we were taking next day.

I loved everything about my stay here this will be my go to hotel or should I say apartment when I visit DC/VA breakfast was awesome my room was spacious clean and quiet. I would give this place 10 stars if I could ⛤⛤⛤⛤⛤⛤⛤⛤⛤⛤

Okay hotel. Room is very big but carpet is old and a little smelly.

I visit the area often for business and usually stay here. It's completely fine but nothing above average. The one awesome element is the shuttle. They are super nice and happy to drop you where you need.

Great, most of the staff is very good.

The room was nice. I had a two story room with 3 TVs that slept 6. The TVs had multiple languages. Spanish, Indian, maybe Arabic. More than 60 stations. Very comfortable, pool, hot tub. I expected a little more from the breakfast, but it wasn't bad. And the mon-wed dinners aren't bad either. Great for families, business travelers, etc.

The woman who checked me in in the evening, (10pm) wasn't exactly try friendly. She was clearly just there because it was her job. That really caught me off guard because every other employee I've ever dealt with at any other Residence Inn has always been fantastic. Even the man at the desk the following morning was extremely nice and polite, I don't know what happened to this woman. She could've been having an off night. Still a great hotel to stay at.

Good place if you are going to stay for long period. Very clean place with good kitchen facilities. Really enjoyed the stay.

I have the higheset regard for this hotel. Even though I have stayed here previous I am booking a room currently. The customer service was excellent, and the suite was awesome. Central location works for me, my new home away from home. Very clean, and well kept. Thank you.

I cannot more positively recommend this location. The rooms are beautiful, spacious and very comfortable. Clean as your own home. Front desk staff very accommodating to my first floor patio room request. Very pet friendly. Room rate was great with a non-refundable, prepaid rate for Thursday and Friday night. Social hour dinner M-Th. Great breakfast. Great pool and other outside sport courts. We loved it.

Excellent! The rooms are fantastic, clean, bright, spacious. Newly renovated! The 2 bedroom suites, second bedroom is located upstairs, loft style. The staff was so nice, from the hotel manager who introduced himself to the housekeeping staff, everyone was extremely friendly. The front desk staff was always friendly and accommodating. I am just so impressed. By far my favorite Residence Inn. The breakfast and dinners were beyond my expectations, Very good! Healthy dinner options. I highly recommend this hotel. The courtyard is lovely to walk around, really nice landscaping. Enjoyed the spring flowers and even encountered a rabbit a couple of times. Felt like I was right at home.
