Review of Super 8 2*

Upon walking in the door to check-in the girl at the front desk told me to hold on as she continued the fight with her boyfriend (I assume). She then hung up, told me one more minute, and called somewhere to order food. It was finally my turn. I should've walked out of the door from there. I asked for a non-smoking room so they put me on a non-smoking hallway; however, no one abides by that rule as I was choking in my room. My curtains and bed spread had cigarette burns, several of them! The chair was very stained and it looked like the a/c unit had never been cleaned. The carpet was dingy and greasy. The bathroom door was particle board and was coming apart. The towel I used had giant holes and the light in the bathroom didn't work (it was a fluorescent bulb). It looked like someone tried to hit it to make it work and in the process broke the entire plastic cover. The shower curtain was ripped and wouldn't even close because the shower rod was barely hanging on. I took photos of all of this. I called down to get more towels and I was told "we don't have maid services so you will need to come down and get them yourself. " What tops it all off I woke up in the morning with brand new bug bites all over my legs. I canceled the rest of my stay. I needed a week for my intensive class through the university. What drives me crazy is that the prices are comparable to the other hotels so I hoped it would be a bit nicer than it was. I certainly wasn't expecting it to be amazing but hoped it would be clean and not falling apart. I will NEVER stay at another Super 8.
