The staff was friendly, room was cozy, Continental breakfast was more than satisfying and location couldn't have been better! Parking wasn't bad but we felt like it was so far from any entrances to our room. Our kids liked the hotel but the view sucked, and it wasnt very kid friendly (no pool or anything for them to do). The location was ideal. We got in a early morning history lesson after checkout!

From the reviews, I was excited for my stay. However, it did not exactly live up to the hype. The beds are not comfortable. My spouse and I both woke up with stiff backs (I'm in my 20's so waking up sore/stiff from a bed doesn't yet happen at my age. ) The sheets are rough and oddly loud — anytime you move it awakens anyone else in the room. We had my 9mo old baby and she woke up repeatedly anytime my spouse or I would shift. Breakfast is mediocre at best. A lot of reviews raved about the breakfast so from that perspective, it was a disappointment as there is nothing special or fresh about the breakfast. Also, the parking situation is bad. The stalls are very small and everyone ends up parking on or over the lines making it difficult to exit/enter your vehicle. I would not ever consider returning.

We stay here when my husband has doctor appointments. Great rooms with lots of amenities. The staff is very helpful and friendly.

Tucked away inside the University of Utah campus, University Guest House was a fantastic find for us. It's quiet, beautiful furnishings, array of amenities, and spacious rooms made our family weekend getaway comfortable. I would definitely book here again especially for events within walking distance. Great stay!

Excellent! Everyone is so helpful… I came some 600 miles (Montana) to the Huntsman Clinic, and must return in a few weeks for surgery, I had questions and concerns answered in the kindest way! This place is a little overwhelming when I first got here, but I know when I return, I'll feel much more comfortable, and would highly recommend the Guest House to anyone I know! Thanks so much!

The service is great. Complimentary breakfast is yummy. Rooms are a bit small. Bedsheets are not soft.

Very nice and quiet. There were lots of events going on the weekend I stayed. They offer a continental breakfast and it was actually very tasty. The only complaint is the beds are VERY soft.

We had 3 rooms for 8 family members, one with kitchen for 5 nights while my husband & neice were in the hospital at the University of Utah. On weekdays we could easily walk up for visits. Shuttle also available. Good hot breakfast provided every day for all of us. Beautiful park like grounds for outdoor walks at Fort Douglas. We all would stay here again.

It is s great location right at the salt lake marathon start and nestled right against the wasatch mountains. The conference room is good but not much parking. Better if you can take trax up. There is also plenty of museums nearby. Another caveat though is that restaurants are sparse in this area.

The conference area is small but nice. I’ve also stayed here and the rooms are clean and continental breakfast is very good. Guest house in the front, conference center in the back. It’s well designed so you may not even know the other half of the building is there.

The rooms are quite nice and clean. Breakfast was good. The location is central and allows easy access to the entire campus while being enough out of the way that it is quiet.

Rooms were great and updated. Breakfast was fantastic. My only complaint would be that the additional blankets that were located in the room had not been cleaned in a while (and I don't mean the sheets or the bed — that was all fine).

Fantastic place to stay, business or pleasure. Free Wi-Fi, free courtesy shuttle to major attractions and approx 20 different restaurants. Microwave/refrigerator in room. Extremely quiet area. Best hotel experience I've ever had.

Visited the Guest house to visit my grandparents staying there. Seemed nice. The rooms were clean and well-organized. Only problem was there is little sound dampening, and my grandparents reported hearing the guests on the above floor pacing in the middle of the night.

The price is more than what you what you'd expect. The breakfast available is decent at best. The rooms are ok, just small. Mostly my review is based on the high price for few amenities available.

I've stayed at the University Guest House many times. It can't be beat for proximity to the hospital, hot breakfast, and convenience. I would give it 5 stars, but there was an old stain on the be spread that looked like a drop of blood, and there was an unopened soap in the shower. Their standard is normally better than this and they're very accommodating.

Clean rooms with excellent staff. Breakfast was included and wonderful. Loved the coffee and tea bar.

The event I attended here was in the basement, and it had plenty of space and glass doors with a convenient exit. The employees were polite, but maybe a bit slow. The event space was great for our purposes.

The entrance of the hotel was amazing. I could not have asked for more. They had many complementary items which I appreciated to the fullest extent I could. If I was to stay in salt lake again this would be my number one choice.

The Guest House is a great venue for conferences. The rooms were accommodating. The food was great. I had a great experience.

The room was nice and clean. The bathroom was very clean, no mold, hot water. Guest services was very helpful. The breakfast was above average with delicious french toast and great bacon. The gym was also well equipped with clean equipment and plenty of free weights and machines.

Exceptional staff members compared to other hotels I've visited in my lifetime. Love the room the atmosphere, everything about the University Guest House is very comfortable and inviting. Highly recommended.

Stayed here quite a few times, the rooms are big with AC. And the breakfast is fantastic.

This was a great option for a large conference venue in Salt Lake. The hotel was very accommodating to a large group and the conference went off without a hitch thanks to the great staff.

You can never go wrong when a University runs a hotel.

Very nice, modern and clean facility. Rooms are big and comfortable. We appreciated the in room Keurig that was stocked with good choices and real cream. Location is ideal especially for medical appointments. We wish breakfast would be available longer (from 6:30-9:30). We missed it but that's just us. It might not be a problem for others. 24 hour tea and coffee bar. Front desk staff were pleasant and helpful.

Comfortable and very accommodating!

Nice location next to the hospital for our doctor appointments. Food was great especially the cheesy scrambled eggs. The staff was very kind and gave us a complimentary blanket for staying there in the past. I would most likely stay here again when our next doctors appointment comes.

Very friendly staff, clean room, great breakfst. They even kept my stuff in a room until my interview was over. I could stay in the lobby for two hours until my shuttle came to take me to tha airport. Highly recommended.

Fort Douglas is a beautiful area inside the campus of the University of Utah. The service is good and the people available. Great breakfast. The room cleaning is not perfect.

A decent hotel, about on par with others in this price range. Great location right on U of U's campus. Walking distance to the hospital there.

My husband has stayed numerous times and the kids and I stayed with him once. The price is exceptional for the quality. It's a 5 star coming for an "Every-day Joe" kind of person like me. But, if you're a high flooty-tooty type then you'd probably consider it a bargain 4 star. The breakfast is actually pretty decent too. The staff are always helpful and intelligent. I believe most of the staff are university students too. It's also a nice location.
