Omg! What an absolutely incredible ranch and spa! Don’t miss it. I have waited 4 years to come here and so glad I finally made it.

Beautiful setting Many activities to enjoy.

We had such a wonderful time at Sorrel! All of the activities were 10/10 and all of the staff is so genuinely kind and helpful. We did the Jeep tour with Tyler, the UTV tour with Tiffany, a tour of canyon and arches national park with Laura, horseback riding with Brent, and river rafting with Constance. We also did some great short morning hikes with the head of the adventure center, Mark. We absolutely loved all of our guides, each one was so knowledgeable and made our experience so memorable! We also had massages at the spa which were amazing! We really loved all the staff at Sorrel. We ate most of our meals on the ranch. All of the wait staff was so personable, funny, and all around lovely people—especially Andrei (our favorite vegan), Cheryl, one of our waiters from Alabama whose name is escaping us, and another gentleman who kindly sat us most nights and impressively remembered all of our drink orders! All of the food was farm fresh and delicious and the chef was so kind and talented—we will be dreaming about all the amazing fish dishes, fresh veggies, the ribs, wings, bison, fresh rolls, biscuits and pancakes—they were all delicious! We really loved our stay here, we will cherish our memories from this trip and the wonderful people we met here for many years to come!

DO NOT BOOK! My cousin and her fiancé have been planning their wedding for over a year. Sorrel canceled their wedding only 2 months from the date, without trying to provide accommodations for Sorrel’s lack of ethical practices. Now my cousin must take more of a financial burden to remake and resend invitations. As well as, trying to find a new venue. Sorrel sucks!

Our family had a wedding booked for September. It has been booked for almost a year and 2 months before the event they call and cancel due to staffing shortages. They did not honor their contractual obligations and I suggest no one do business with them.

The staff was amazing and so friendly. The views were spectacular!

To be honest, I could've cooked my porkchop better than they did, only spent $2.00, had way more vegetables than what they give you AND gotten full. 5 of us went. 4 porckchops and 1 catch of the day with 5 beers. $667.00 later, we were still hungry and disappointed in the quality of the food we received. Waitress was nice, but I'd never recommend this place to anyone. Save yourself some money and go to a 2 star place.

It’s a stunning place. The staff are exceptional and so helpful. Nothing is too much. Smiles are plentiful. So far we have only done the UTV trip into Castle Valley. Onion Creek takes your breath away. It was awesome. Jeff, our guide, made sure we were well informed and had a lot of fun! Masses of activities at the resort: a gym, tennis, basket ball, riding, marshmallows at the camp fires, really good cooking too. It’s not cheap but all of the above plus the magnificent views and location are worth every penny.

Stayed for a quick long weekend get away. From the accommodations to the friendly staff, could not have had a better 4 days. There are so many things to do here we will be back to spend more time. Thanks Andy, Max and Jeff for an action pack stay!

We had reservations (had to wait 20 minutes) to celebrate a bday only to find out after waiting an hour that our dinner order was lost. Rooms overpriced, poor service.

We had the pleasure of staying at the Sorrel Ranch and Spa for 3 nights and it was an amazing experience. We had lunch and dinner at the ranch and the food was amazing! We also went horse back riding with Morgan and really enjoyed the trails she showed us. Zach gave us a very exciting 4 hour ATV tour. Everyone of the employees was extremely hospitable and kind. Our room had a gorgeous view of the Colorado river and we spend many hours just sitting on the deck watching the rafters and wild animals walk by. The final night we spend attending the Cowboy BBQ which was held in their Homestead Garden… it was a perfect setting for our last evening. We would highly recommend this property for your next stay. We certainly will be back.

Incredible experience! 4 days 3 nights, a great end to our 10 days in Utah. Our compliments to the chefs as the food was amazing! The staff was so pleasant from check in, to dining as well as horseback riding and ATV. The views were spectacular! Nice ending to our stay with the BBQ, so fun, Peggy was great and once again the food did not disappoint. Special shout out to Adam, Zach and Morgan for exceptional customer service! We’ll be back! Only opportunity is your website does not do the property or experience justice… It was far more amazing than the site reflected.

We had a fantastic experience at The River Grill at Sorrel Ranch. The setting on the river is phenomenal. The food was fantastic. Yes, a little on the spendy side, but worth it. I had the lamb and my wife had the duck. Both were perfectly prepared. The menu is not extensive, but has enough variety for most. Worth the drive out from Moab, especially for a special occasion.

Beautiful grounds and location. We didn't stay there, it was only a walk thru. Kind of on the expensive side, but elegant and gorgeous!

The Best 5 star resort along the Colorado river in Utah!

Wow! What a place. The scenery is something to behold. There's lots of activities, the food is fantastic, the staff does everything possible to make your stay memorable and enjoyable. Aside from sightseeing surrounding canyons, the UTV experience was really cool. Highly recommend this place and will definitely revisit, given the opportunity.

I wish I could give this place 25 stars. The entire staff was so accommodating and welcoming that it blew my mind. Adam, the server at the restaurant is so great. He made us feel welcome and suggested great food. Shelly, the woman who runs the greenhouse is awesome in her own right. Ngoni was an exceptional host the 3 nights we stayed. And Andy was an amazing manager as well. My wife and I have nothing but great things to say about this place!

This is a gem for anyone looking to escape to the red rocks and relax in luxury. The staff is very helpful and excellent. When our original room had a problem, the resort manager immediately upgraded our stay and moved all our belongings for us. The new property manager was great and has lots if premier hotel experience. Bring your own wine and snacks and delight in happy hour on your porch at dusk. The spa is also worth booking a massage or treatment. We will be back for our next pampered experience!

I guess I can splurge for an occasional luxury meal with a breathtaking view but let me prepare you for the sticker shock of the lodging. It starts at $490 per night after all the resort fees and taxes are included and that is off season. It looks like you can get a third night free if you book two off season nights… so that comes to about $333/night but sill I doubt this is in price range for the average traveler. Peak season is way more $ My 4 stars are for the breakfast.

Myself and three other guests recently stayed at Sorrel River Ranch Resort & Spa for the first time over Thanksgiving weekend, 2017, and I must say, our experience exceeded our expectations on all levels. From the guided sunset horseback ride, where you are literally riding among the some of the most beautiful red rock canyon lands in the American Southwest, to a fun day of adventure, taking the Resort's UTVs on a trail ride through Onion Creek — our experience could not have been better. Additionally, Sorrel’s accommodations were both luxurious, and inviting. Hand-dipped Carmel apples were placed in our room upon arrival, and S’mores kits were available nightly to enjoy fire-side at the property’s out-door fire-fit. We invited friends staying at a nearby resort to dine with us one evening at Sorrel River Ranch’s stunning, and recently remodeled restaurant, where we were treated to a sumptuous meal where we enjoyed local, farm-to-table fare and an excellent, international wine menu selection — an experience all choreographed by Conner, one of the Resort’s highly skilled, attentive and thoughtful managers. It may have been out first time at Sorrel River Ranch Resort & Spa, however it undoubtedly won’t be our last. Highly recommend! Brittanny, Denver, CO.

I come here about once a year. The hotel staff are awesome and let us use their green firled to land parachutes in after skydiving over Castle Valley. Bar staff is always friendly and I love the fire pit!

You can't find a spot with better views! Food is great. Staff is very friendly as well.

The staff was super helpful in accommodating our large groups many needs. The rooms are spectacular and the resort is beautiful! The restaurant on site was great at dinner time, but service was sub-par during breakfast. Room service and boxed lunches we're excellent.

We recently spent over a week visiting the National Parks in Utah and booked Sorrel River Ranch as our last stop just to relax a couple days at the end. It was literally heaven on earth. I wish I could add some of the beautiful photos we took of the ranch. The staff was amazing, polite, helpful and went above and beyond for us. The new restaurant manager was so sweet and always said hello to us and took great care of us. Jeff was the man. I mean he knew all the good things to do, took care of our private horseback riding and was just an overall really cool guy to chat with about Utah. Hannah our horseback riding wrangler was the sweetest and she made the experience beyond enjoyable. She allowed us so much access to the horses (which we fell in love with! ). A bad meal doesn't exist there, it's some of the best food around and service was impeccable. S'more's, did I mention there are free s'more's every night?!? It's one of the best kept secrets of Moab and we can't WAIT to go back!

4.5 stars. Staff is super friendly. Lots of fun stuff to do, especially if you love hikes or outdoors type stuff. Beautiful scenery. I love everything about this place except the prices. Highly recommend.

People place, our 5th time from Australia, and we'll be back. This time we bought the family, and they too loved it. Kids went horse riding for the first time. Everyone there helpful, polite and attentive. Best place on earth.

I couldn't have asked for a better experience. This place is nestled beautifully next to the Colorado River and right in the canyon. It's peaceful and beautiful and I couldn't have asked for more. The food was spectacular and the atmosphere and staff were top notch. Their adventure guide is extremely knowledgeable and we learned that there was an endless amount of things to do to keep us busy. If you go, horseback riding is a must. The resort has amazing guides and prepare for some amazing views on your ride as well.

TL;DR: I love to drive. I love it. So this was a dream of a fun drive for me into Moab on a winding, trip of a road into town. But if you don't want to drive, know that it is 20 minutes on a wild road, next to a river. Simply put, the room rate is slightly too high here, and it's not necessarily the level of luxury they market themselves at. But they are eager and the place is spectacular, if you can mentally prepare to pay a bit too much, simply because there aren't that many other "nice" options in the area. Rest of review: I work in the industry and mean no harm! =) I know how hard it must be to staff out there, and I understand the room rate is based off location, coupled with the services offered at the property… but it is a spendy property for the level of service achieved. I am all about value, and I have to be frank that I will drop multiple thousands on a room if there is value at that level of luxury. Think Aman resorts. The large suite was fantastic, room service was wonderful and quick, the food was quite good, too (a rare surprise). It seems pool service is an afterthought, but it's of minor concern. The grounds / maintenance people and the housekeeping were superb… they even helped me get stuff to wash my car prior to departure! =) But through and through the actual cost of things is surprisingly high, from food to room rate.

Unique landscape and the Colorado River that runs behind the ranch … its definitely worth spending a few nights in this beautiful place, lost among the gorges and canyons of Canyonlands. Great location for visiting the parks of Arches, Canyonlands and Dead Horse Point in General.

My family and I had a great time visiting last month. The staff and cleaning crews were all super friendly, always helpful. The location was amazing, everything was clean, even my steak at the restaurant was excellent. Highly recommend!

When our plans changed at the last minute I called the ranch to book a horse back ride for my 7 year old daughter. The ride was booked but they offered my daughter a ride in the corral. It was perfect for her. She also watched Rebecca saddle up 6 horses for the ride later in the day. Rebecca was kind and patient answering my daughters questions. It was a terrific way to spend 2 hours. Thank you.

The Sorrel River Ranch is a gorgeous property set along the Colorado River with beautiful views of the red rocks of Southeastern Utah. That said, the property is grossly over-priced given the quality of the food and service. With a room rate of $695, we would have at least expected a complimentary breakfast. Instead, the average cost of breakfast per person was $25-30; dinner entrees averaged $48 PLUS the cost of salad ($16) and appetizers averaging $16-24. The service was spotty and the servers poorly trained. Our server one night also tended bar and therefore our needs were poorly served; further, the server didn’t know wines from Kool-aid. On our first night, the alarm over our bed started chirping with ever-increasing frequency and noise. We called the front desk repeatedly from 11:40-midnight with no response. Ultimately, my husband stood on a chair on top of the bed and removed the battery. When we reported this in the morning, the response we received was “Interesting. ” We would not recommend this property to friends.

UPDATE — May 2015 was told there will be action and followup. Nothing in almost 11 months… Great going Mr Manager! Horrible staff. Had a horse back riding accident, and they didnt own upto it. Saddle was never setup right and slid off the horse mid way through. Their response was luke warm to say the least, had to ask for ice, first aid kit, wouldnt write an incident report, Really insensitive — wanted to put it under the rug. I will be taking them to BBB. Will not recommend to anyone ever!

Beautiful grounds! So much to do! I would highly recommend. The rooms are large and nice and the staff is friendly. There is a lot of good food on property too!

The ranch us in a beautiful location on the Colorado River set back from the highway and surrounded by red rock cliffs. Our meeting space featured wonderful views to the river, and the food service never distracted from the meeting. A good Wi-Fi signal was definitely a bonus from a business point of view. I would definitely meet here again.

We loved this ranch! Luxurious private cabins in a natural setting that was nothing short of spectacular — encircled by red canyon walls and sitting right on the Colorado River with a sweeping horse corral, beautiful stables and s’mores at the fire pit every night. It is impossible to find this kind of comfort in Moab and we really needed it after a day on the ATV trails. Service at the bar was the best. I found a plush leather couch with a postcard view and didn’t want to leave, luckily dinner was right upstairs with the same awesome view. Nowhere else in the area offered fresh fish cooked simply with vegetables from their own garden. There was curbside assistance and a beautiful pool with a hot tub – two more luxuries you can’t find in Moab. The cabin was spacious and very private. We especially liked the local art and western décor, good size kitchen and great spa tub. I used the gym early in the morning and then we went horseback riding into the canyons. I am not an expert but clearly their horses are in great shape and responsive to the rider. The drive into Moab is a half-hour of some of the best scenery imaginable. With advice from the staff we booked great guides for rafting and rappelling. After all our hiking and riding we needed some recovery time and it was so easy to walk over to the Spa house for a first rate massage and sauna. My wife loved the facial and was especially grateful that they used only organic, natural products.

I've been to the SRR a few times now and I always enjoy my time there. The property is indescribably beautiful. The horses, the fields, the overarching red-rock of the monument valley… It's something you need to see for yourself. The rooms have a well balanced mix of western and modern decor. Some places are just tacky; this is not the case at SRR. The food is incredible; I had the fish… in UT… yeah, that good. One of my favorite parts of the property is the fire pit next to restaurant, over looking the river. It's perfect for an after dinner cognac and cigar. I much prefer visiting in the cooler months — spring and fall. Once, I visited in winter and it was very quiet and fairly cold. This didn't bother me one bit. To get Arches, Dead Horse, and all the other spots around the valley mostly to your self is worth the cold. Whenever I hear someone is heading down to the Moab area, I recommend they stay at the Sorrel River Ranch.

Terrible Place! Very dirty! Stuff does not clean up rooms, even after complains. There are rat droppings everywhere. Stuff does not care at all about health concerns. Restaurant is expensive and food not good at all. Waiters ignore you.

My boyfriend and I visited Sorrel this weekend seeking a place we could escape the city and enjoy some alone time. We had an amazing time! The scenery and staff surpassed our expectations. Our room was a cozy yet chic cabin that had a romantic quality to it. Whether it was the rustic chandelier over our bed, the claw foot tub big enough for two, or the amazing river front view, we felt like we were in heaven. The Ranch is a perfect place for outdoor enthusiasts or people that just want an off the grid vacation.

Beautiful scenery, clean and comfortable rooms, and excellent food! I recommend the bison tenderloin.

Know nothing about the resort, but don't go to the restaurant in mid-march! Prices were high, food was OK, but cold when it got to the table, which was about an hour after it was ordered, and then 18% gratuity was automatically added. Will not go back.

Easy elegance and luxurious details define Sorrel River. The service was exceptional – at the front desk, in the restaurant and especially at the spa. A special thanks to my masseuse Tamra – it was blissful! Imagine a picturesque log cabin, with all the modern amenities, the Colorado River running thru your front yard and out back a sprawling horse corral, all surrounded by towering red canyon walls. I thought Moab was only about mountain biking slickrock and rafting level 4 rapids. This spot is in harmony with the deeply effecting beauty and serenity the landscape offers. Sitting on my cabin porch in the early morning I saw an eagle circling above the Colorado River, then dipping and diving with a playful raven, until finally landing on a tiny sand island for a drink of water before soaring off into the woods. Those few moments made my trip… until dinner! I thought I couldn’t find a well prepared piece of fresh fish in Utah until I ordered the local trout. The next day I had the Alaskan halibut and it was equally fabulous. The waiters were true professionals and just fun to talk with. We took advantage of the free bikes and spacious fitness center. Lots of family activities; horseback riding, the pool with hot tub and smores around the fire pit were especially popular. There were board games in the lounge and lush vintage leather furniture that J. R. Would be proud to own. It was spectacular in every way.

Stayed for 4 nights. Beautiful view, a place to relax and unwind. Planning to go back soon.

We just had a great team offsite here. Our guides Ed and Tyler brought us on a tour of Arches, and later in the day some of us went on a short hike closer to the ranch. In November the weather was cool and we had the whole place to ourselves.

Hotel too expensive for the services offered. It was our honeymoon, we stayed there for 1 week and not even a fruit basket or a bottle of champagne so we paid € 4200 ($5541) week! In addition, we had the machinery of the air conditioner next to the room and suddenly a continuous fan noise! And without forgotten that we spent the week with 2 spiders in the bathroom and I do not intend these cobwebs.
It really not worth the price, not including breakfast and they do not speak a word of french, and it was luxury hotel?
Moreover, we also paid $512 (€ 388) for a ride on horseback to do that step and stay in 500 m from the hotel, and $ 288 for a special massage couple!
It's a shame and really we are very disappointed this has nothing to do with the luxury French!
We do not recommend this hotel because everything is expensive, and we really have the impression of being scammed.

The hotel is very nice but the resturant is incredibly expensive for comparativly bad food.
